Reliable sources tell Chitraloka that the satellite rights of Ambareesha, the new film starring Challenging Star Darshan has been acquired by a popular Kannada entertainment channel for a record Rs 5.5 crore.

The film directed by Mahesh Sukhadhare and also produced by him is one of the most expected films of the year. Earlier Darshan's Brindavana had fetched Rs 5.4 crore in satellite telecast rights.

The teaser of the film was released during the Dasara festival. Since Sarathi, Darshan's films have gone from strength to strength and aided by strong TRPs when telecast are fetching record prices.
