Not every actor touches a milestone in his career. Shivarajkumar son of legendary actor Dr Rajkumar has not only touched a milestone by completing 100 films in 25 years, but also has touched everyone's hearts by his versatility.
When Shivarajkumar entered Sandalwood in 1986 through 'Anand', he literally had everything an actor could wish for. He had the blessings of Dr. Rajkumar, guidance from stalwarts like Chi. Udayashankar, S P Varadaraj and Singeetham Srinivas and a great banner like Vajreshwari combines to launch him. But yet Shivarajkumar did not let down anybody and proved that he is an actor to watch for. He wooed the audience with not only his acting skills but also dancing abilities.
His first film 'Anand' ran to packed houses. This was followed by 'Rathasapthami' and 'Mana Mechchida Hudugi'. These two also went onto become huge hits making Shivarajkumar a 'Hatrick Hero'. With three consecutive hits, a title from his fans and a responsibility on his shoulders, Shivarajkumar moved ahead never to look back again.
Though Shivarajkumar is acknowledged as an action star and a dancing star, he has also proved himself a versatile actor with variety of roles. While he played the role of Kannappa, a legendary character played by his father in 'Bedara Kannaappa', he also starred in as a smart hero with two shades in 'Aaseygobba Meesegobba' a film which was a remake of Hindi hit 'Gomaal'.
From playing a rowdy in 'Om', to a warrior prince in 'Gandugali Kumararama', from an encounter officer in 'Rakshasa' to a sentimental brother in 'Thavarige Baa Thangi', from an educationalist in 'Rishi' to a downtrodden in 'Dore', from playing a father striving for his daughter in 'Andaman' to a youth striving to go back to his roots in 'Chigurida Kanasau' ... Shivarajkumar has played all these roles with mighty ease and earning himself a name as a versatile actor of Sandalwood.
Shivarajkumar apart from earning a lot of fans has also earned many awards particularly the best actor awards by the State Government for his stellar performances in films like 'Om', 'Chigurida Kanasu' and 'Hrudaya Hrudaya'.
Now Shivarajkumar has completed 25 precious years in the film industry with 99 films to his credit. He is mainly looking for his 100th film 'Jogayya' which is a sequel to his super hit 'Jogi' directed by Prem.
Shivarajkumar recently celebrated his 25th year in the film industry with great pomp and splendour. Shivaraj not only thanked his fans by organising a grand star night in the Palace Grounds, but also remembered his co-stars, directors, producers and other technicians by felicitating in a separate function.
In this function, Shivanna expressed his feelings to continue working as an actor for another 25 years. Chitraloka.com wishes the Century Hero a grand success and may his wishes come true.
