Regional Censor Officer, Bangalore, Nagaraj, has been transferred with immediate effect. The order for his transfer came yesterday with effect from midnight. Nagaraj has immediately vacated his post after four years in service. There is no officer now and the appointment is made by the central government from central pool officers.

With no officer in place, Kannada films that were lined up for certification have been affected. Puneeth's Ninnindale was to arrive for censor in a few days. Two films, Ugram and Kwatle had already applied, but are now hanging in balance. Two other films were also lined up for certification. All these films are affected now.

It is not known when the new censor officer will be appointed. Until then, certificates for new Kannada films hang in balance. Nagaraj had asked for a six-month extension but was not given.
