Dr.Rajkumar the icon of Kannada film industry has contributed Rs.5 lakhs to the Karnataka Chief Minister Relief Fund on Wednesday. At a simple function at Tennis Club in Bangalore Kannada superstar Vishnuvardhana donated Rs.1 lakh on behalf of his ‘Snehaloka’ team to Coastal Calamity Fund started by The Indian Express Group. The cheque of Rs.1 lakh was handed over by Vishnuvardhana to Mr Ajay Menon, Deputy General Manager of The New Indian Express, Bangalore. Mr R.K.Mattoo, the chief of News Bureau of The New Indian Express Bangalore was also present on the occasion. At the same function the common friend of Ambarish and Vishnuvardhana Mr Nataraj a resident of America handed over Rs.50000 to the ‘Coastal Calamity Fund’ on his own.
Meanwhile the Karnataka Television Artistes and Technicians have raised a few lakhs from its members. They are also going on a procession in Bangalore and other places to collect aid for the victims who have lost properties in the devastating natural calamity.
