The man who robbed Rs 1 lakh from actor Vinod Raj was from the notorious OG Kuppam gang from Andhra Pradesh. Vinod Raj was robbed of Rs 1 lakh on September 28 in Nelamangala.

He had withdrawn the money from the bank and got into his car when the gang members approached him as fans. One of them said there was a puncture in one of the car's tyre. When Vinod Raj got out to check, the others had run away with the cash bag from the front seat. The police were searching for the culprits since then. They have now arrested one of the gang members named Raju aka High Tech Raju.

Police sources say that Raju had spent all the money by buying costly items like sunglasses and other valuables. Vinod Raj became the first celebrity to be robbed by attention diversion technique by robbers.
