The police have registered a case against unnamed fans of Sandalwood star Dhruva Sarja for putting up illegal banners and hoardings to celebrate his birthday. The hoardings were noticed by the assistant revenue officer of the BBMP on October 12 at KR Road and Shastri Road.
These hoardings were on the footpath obstructing pedestrian movement and disfiguring public places he has said in his complaint. Based on his complaint the police have registered a FIR under the Karnataka Prevention of Disfigurement of Public Places Act. Advertisement hoardings and posters including film posters have been banned following an order by the Karnataka High Court.
The BBMP has removed all banners and hoardings in the city. But Dhruva Sarja's fans face this case now because of they put up the hoardings illegally. They may get away with a fine and warning or could also face serious problem as the High Court has taken over the powers to grant bail in illegal hoardings cases.
