Choorikatte, a suspense thriller that is set for release tackles the issue of smuggling of Sandalwood and other forest trees and timber. The film is based on real incidents of smuggling reported in the Western Ghats of Karnataka. Choorikatte is a real place in Shivamogga. The film is directed by Raghu Shivamogga who is turning independent director after having worked alongside B Suresh and other Kannada directors.
Real incidents have been blended into a cinematic narration he says. The film has generated much curiosity since the release of its trailer and audio recently. Vasuki Vaibhav of Rama Rama Re has composed the music and it has already become a big hit. Most of the action in the film takes place in forest locations and therefore the visuals of the film has been gaining appreciation.
While Praveen Tej and Prerana play the lead roles seasoned actors like Dattanna, Sharath Lohitashva and Achyuth Kumar are also part of the cast.
