Actress Yamuna also known as Sowmya has been arrested by the CCB police in Bangalore late last night. She was arrested on charges of prostitution at the ITC Gardenia hotel. Yamuna is said to have been arrested along with a client who is reported to be the CEO of an IT company.

Yamuna has acted as the leading lady in Kannada films like Chinna with Ravichandran, Mavanige Takka Aliya and Hendathire Hushan with Shashikumar. In Modada Mareyalli Yamuna changed her name as Sowmya and acted with Shivarajkumar. She has also acted as a character artiste in Kanteerava, which released today.
