The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce President H.D.Gangaraju in a meet the press program at Press Club of Bangalore on Monday announced that the KFCC and Film Federation of India would meet soon after the declaration of formula by Ambarish.
What is this formula and when it would be announced? Gangaraju sought time till Saturday. According to Gangaraju the present crisis is not a crisis at all. On his stand on Kannada films and Kannada language Gangaraju recited the poem of national poet Kuvempu – Elladharu Yeeru Enthadaru Yeeru Yendendu Nee Kannadavagiru…, and Bharta Jananiya Thanu Jaathe…., the earlier policy of 1996 was not strongly implemented. The excessive prints of non Kannada routing the business of Kannada films lead to the present situation. I must thank the media in handling the present crisis. Without blowing out of proportion you have handled added Gangaraju.
Sa.Ra.Govindu the Vice President of the KFCC expressed the fear of Kannada filmdom reaching the situation of Marathi, Assam and Bengali films in case the same situation go ahead for a few more years. We have given chance for 8 long years from 1996 to release simultaneously. Now they have to wait and watch for two years on the principles we have expressed demanded Govindu.
For a producer of Kannada films today he requires double the strength of a non Kannada film producer. We have to fight the menace of non Kannada films and television. Now we are confident that Ambarish formula would work out satisfactorily.
Both Gangaraju and Govindu agreed to the point that there are many progress works needs attention. The film city, industry status, subsidy for all Kannada films except remakes (100 percent ET enough for remake films) deserves quick attention.
Mr Sadashiva Shenoy General Secretary of the Press Club of Bangalore welcomed the guests and also proposed a vote of thanks. Mr Ashok Kumar, Vice President Mr K.M.Veeresh secretary of Press Club of Bangalore was also present on the dais.
