D Rajendra Babu no more Senior director D Rajendra Babu has died of heart attack at the M S Ramaiah hospital in Bangalore. He is survived by wife Sumitra and daughters Nakshatra and Uma Maheshwari. D Rajendra Babu was one of the top most and wanted director of his times and has given many super hits like Nanu Nanna Hendathi, Preetse, Habba, Yaare Neenu Cheluve, Annaiah and other films.
Babu was known as a remake expert and has many remake films to his credit. Not only remakes, Babu efficiently handed films which were based on many novels. D Rajendra Babu who was fondly known as DRA Babu in the film circles came to Kannada film industry to become a hero and Babu started his career as a hero in 'Kurubara Lakka'. Later he went on to become an associate director and assisted many directors like Rajendra Singh Babu, V Somashekhar, K S R Doss and others.
He was one of the most wanted associate directors in the 80s and Babu made his debut as a director through Asamabhava and there was no turning back for DRA Babu. After that D Rajendra Babu directed most of the heroes of the 80s, 90s and 2000s. Babu directed Vishnuvardhan, Ambarish, Ravichandran, Upendra, Shivarajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar, Sudeep, Ganesh and others. His combination with Ravichandran was the most celebrated one with many of their films were box-office success. Yugapurusha, Ramachari, Annayya, Yaare Neenu Cheluve and others.
In the last decade Rajendra Babu's many films were failures and Babu slowly faded away from the show business. He came back this year with Shivarajkumar's Aryan. He also successfully finished 30% of the film. Babu was supposed to start the next schedule from November 4th.
But his sudden demise has shocked the film industry.
