68 year old Kannada film actor M.S.Karanth who had also produced two films in partnership brathed his last in the wee hours of Sunday morning. Karanth who leaves behind his wife, son and a daughter was suffering from a prolonged illness and had to succumb to breathlessness and other related health problems.
M.S.Karanth who had acted in more than 300 films was also involved in production and direction of television serials. He was also regularly going with some drama troups to be part of many programmes organised for many festivals. He had essayed many roles in Kannada films and was a much dependable character artist for many top directors like V.Somashekhar, D.Rajendra Babu, Bhargava, Sai Prakash, Phani Ramachandra and many others. Karanth started his film career by working in Puttanna Kanagal's Gejje Pooje after which he had worked in many films continously. In recent days, Karanth was out of circulation as the veteran actor remained unknown to many young directors.
M.S.Karanth had also worked as an associate director to many directors like V.Somashekhar and Tipatur Raghu along with his friend Somu. He produced two films Baalondu Bhaavageethe and Digvijaya. He enjoyed a very good relationship with Pranayaraja Sreenath.
