According to trade sources, the new Sudeep film Kotigobba2 has managed to gross around Rs 22 crore in the first four days of its release between Friday and Monday. Apart from the weekend, the film was released to the Varamahalakshmi festival on Friday and Independence Day on Monday.
But these seems to have not affected the flow of people to the theatres and the film has managed to become the fastest film to reach the Rs 20 crore mark in Kannada. The film has collected Rs 6.5 crore in the Bengaluru area that includes Tumkur and Kolar.
The rest of the Rs 15.5 crore collections is from other areas that include Mysore-Mandya-Hassan-Coorg, Hubballi area, Mangalore area, Shivamogga area, Hyderabad-Karanataka area and Bombay-Karnataka area. The film has done well even in locations that are not known for film collections like Udupi and Mangaluru.
