That is the question on everybody's lips these days because though the dubbing culture has not officially come to Kannada, work on dubbing films has already been started by some producers and distributors.
On Thursday, 'Udayavani' has released a poster of a film called 'Nanna Gandana Hendathi' (My Husband's Wife). The film was originally made in Hindi with Prem Chopra, Rati Agnihotri, Shakti Kapoor in important roles. The film has been has been brought to Kannada by one G Krishnamurthy and has been dubbed as 'Nanna Gandana Hendathi'.
Sources say, 'Nanna Gandana Hendathi' is just a sample and there are more than 200 film dubbed films from various languages waiting for release. Recently, the CCI has given a report that it is not right to ban dubbing in Kannada, but the Competition Commission Of India is yet to give its verdict about dubbing in Kannada. Even before the verdict is given, many dubbed films are ready for release.
Has dubbing culture entered Kannada? is yet to be answered in the coming days.
