The most controversial Kannada Film history book called as ‘Kannada Chalanachitra Ithihasa’ brought out in two volumes of 1800 pages has been recalled by the Hampi University Vice Chancellor Dr.Lakkappa Gowda, it is reliably learnt.

The editorial team comprising of eminent personalities are facing the shame of their lifetime.

It may be recalled that there were widespread criticism and unhappiness over the contents of the two volumes of ‘Chalanachitra Ithihasa’ from the day one. This is due to the attacking reports. Even Dr.Rajkumar films have not been spared. The ultimate call came from renowned Kannada films director S.V.Rajendra Singh Babu recently. Taking note of the observations the Hampi University has taken a decision to take back the books with effect from April 22 from the market. Already 500 books have been sold and the rest of the books have to remain in the store room.

It is also learnt from highly placed sources in Bellary (where the Hampi University is situated) that a separate committee would be constituted to pick the objectionable mistakes from the already published two volumes and revised edition would be published in a few months from now. This committee would consist of film personalities says the sources.
