The Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce protecting the skin of editorial members who worked for the two volumes 1800 pages ‘Kannada Chalanachitra Ithihasa’ has banned the book and also imposed ban on three editorial committee members from participating in any film functions in future. The three editorial committee members who face the wrath are V.N.Subba Rao, Dr.Vijaya and M.B.Singh. They face the penalty of not entering any film function the Film Chamber calls till they issues further orders.

In the crucial meeting at the tentative office of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce in Gandhinagar Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar, S.V.Rajendra Singh Babu and other members of the film chamber took part in the meeting.

In a stormy meeting of four hours from evening 5 pm to 9 pm it has been decided to burn the Chalanachitra Ithihasa two volumes book in front of Film Chamber office. The date of burning has not yet been decided. At the beginning Smt.Parvathamma Rajkumar asked for last meeting proceedings. The President of KFCC Tallam Nanjunda Shetty apologized to S.V.Rajendra Singh Babu for writing a letter asking his explanation for the condemnation of Ithihasa. Besides tendering apology the President of Film Chamber also accepted the mistakes in the two volumes book. K.C.N.Chandrasekhar the sitting President of SIFCC, R.Lakshman expressed their ignorance on the contents. The stormy meeting with members voicing their displeasure against the ‘Chalanachitra Ithihasa’ has finally condemned the book as a trash. There were comments on the well-known artists like Dr.Rajkumar, Shivrajkumar, Jayamala, Nagathihalli Chandrasekhar and so on.

Producer Rockline Venkatesh after going through all the controversies and three parties involving into it has recommended for such history book through private bodies. Let it touch an expenditure of Rs.25 lakhs the next time the history on Kannada cinema is published it should be near to perfection minus the comments and gossips Rockline felt.

With some of the vital decisions coming out in today’s Film Chamber meeting, the proceedings really deserves a place in the next history book on Kannada cinema.
