P H Vishwanath who was elected as the president of Kannada film Directors association (KANFIDA) in last September has been told to step down from the president post. In the meeting held today P H Vishwanath has been removed from President post and B Ramurthy has been elected as the new president.
Speaking to Chitraloka, newly elected President B Ramurthy told 'It was discussed in last two Executive Committee meetings and it was informed to PH Vishwanath also. He was not doing anything, nor letting us do anything. We conducted the medical camp which was very successful. Later we could not do any follow up camps and we could not even bring out the magazine also. Last Sunday we met and discussed everything and we informed this to P H Vishwanath. He did not attend today's meeting due to various reasons. Out of 15 members, except P Seshadri and Vaidyanath, 12 have given the letter against Vishwanath . Roopa Iyer is now in USA and she has sent the message. TN Nagesh who is shooting abroad has also sent message' said B Ramamurthy.
When contacted P H Vishwanath, he said he has not received any correspondence regarding this 'I have not received any letter or there is no communication from anyone regarding my removal from the president post. They cannot do like this since our bylaw does not permit it and there is no rule of no confidence motion in our bylaw. Even to remove any EC member it has to be decided only in the general body meeting' said Vishwanath.
When asked what’s the reason for all these, 'I cannot work in their style. I have my own discipline' said Vishwanth.
