Director 'Mussanje' Mahesh has silently completed shooting for his new film called 'MMCH' in Bangalore, Mangalore and other places.

MMCH is an unusual film as it is a real commercial women centric film. Usually women-centric film means a parallel film but MMCH is an entertaining film where the protagonists are female. It has suspense, drama, action and sentiments in full force. Some of the best young female actors including Samyukta Hornad and Meghana Raj are part of the film with Ragini Dwivedi providing the firepower. 

The film starts with a murder investigation. A dead body fully decomposed is found in a garbage bin. Police are unable to identify it as it has rotted. Ragini, a super cop is called to find out the truth of the murder. The investigation part is beautifully narrated. It is like a thrilling ride with the cops stitching together one clue to the next and progressing in their case but always coming up short by a whisker. But Ragini, is a super cop who will not give up easily. What she finds out however turns out to be a very big surprise. The surprise is better seen on screen. 

From there the film takes a completely different turn. The flashback of the four girls who are studying together in a college and also stay in the same hostel is shown. It is not a simple story. They have a tough upbringing and are fighters. They do not bow down to eve teasing boys in college. At the same time, they are also playful and have the usual girlish crushes. The ending is something completely different seen in Kannada films. It has a stunning twist to the story. 

On the acting front, Ragini is in top form as a cop. It is a dream role for her. She is convincing as an investigator and awesome as a fighting force. Meghana Raj as a lover girl who is trying to get away from her boyfriend is sentimentally charming. Samyukta Hornad, Nakshatra and Prathama Prasad make up the gang of four. You have to see their antics on the screen to believe how entertaining it is. However the boys have a smaller role to play in this film. Both Yuvaraj and Raghu Bhat are crucial to the story but their on screen presence is much less than male stars in regular films. Overall MMCH is an entertaining watch that is different from the regular hero worshipping movies.

The assessment of status of Kannada films from Bidar to Mysore discloses some astonishing facts. The priority attached to Kannada films is in the districts of Mysore, Mandya, Hassan and to some extent in Coorg. Rest of the areas are catering to non Kannada films is what worries deeply the Kannada filmdom.

There are seven areas for the marketing of films. The

BKT – Bangalore Kolar and Tumkur

MMCH – Mandya, Mysore, Coorg and Hassan,

SCB – Shimoga, Chickmagalur and Bhadravathi,

Bombay Karnataka – Bijapur, Belgaum, Dharwad and Karwar,

Chitradurga-Bellary

Hyderabad Karnataka – Bidar, Gulbarga and Raichur and

South Kanara – Mangalore and surroundings.

The continuous flow of non Kannada films to a maximum extent in majority of pockets has firstly ruined the status of Kannada films. Most of the places it is inevitable for the audience and big Kannada films are taken in a very few theatres. Except Dr.Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, Ravichandran films Ramu and Rockline banner films none other banner films get an iota of priority. 

The Kannada filmdom has been assessing this tragic blow to Kannada films from many years and off late the restriction of 7 weeks moratorium has been made compulsory. The Kannada films get proper market in their own state properly the revenue for it increases from Rs.1 to 1.5 crores is the estimate. This estimate and concentration of our market properly has lead to this protest is what Chitraloka has understood.

Take a look at adjacent Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Mumbai – long ago they have kicked out Kannada films from screening. Is it because non Kannada films expanded market by going in for 300 to 400 prints of their films we have to suffer for our language films is the pertinent question that has come up seriously now.

Coming to exhibitors all over the state they are not badly placed. The majority of exhibitors in 1100 are well placed not because they have been Satya Harischandras but by practicing wrong tactics. That is avoiding taxes to the Government of Karnataka. When it comes as a cause of Kannada they want to keep away. Are they not living in Kannada Mannu? Have they not cleared their loans? Let one exhibitor show his pitiable condition? Over the years they have become comfortable. They are eating in silver plates at the cost of Kannada films.

At least now get up for the cause of Kannada and Kannada films is what the humble request the Kannada filmdom is making. That is why we say the cause is right.

The fear expressed by top leaders like Dr.Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhana and others is absolutely right. We have not made for ourselves. Karnataka has given always. For the future generation we don’t have anything concrete to follow.

It is the bounded duty of non Kannadigas staying in Karnataka to adhere to the principles is apt.

The cross section of people who spoke to Chitraloka expressed one single opinion that at any cost Kannada and Kannada films should not suffer in its own land.

The 06th of July saw six Kannada films getting released and this is the first time in the year that so many films are getting in a single day this year. The 13th of July will be witnessing another six films getting released.

ಮೇಘನಾ, ರಾಗಿಣಿ, ನಕ್ಷತ್ರ, ದೀಪ್ತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸಂಯುಕ್ತಾ ಒಬ್ಬರನ್ನೊಬ್ಬರು ಅರ್ಥ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ತುಂಬಾ ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಪುರುಷೋತ್ತಮ್, ಸಿನಿಮಾವನ್ನು 150ಕ್ಕೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಥಿಯೇಟರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ರಿಲೀಸ್ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಎಂಎಂಸಿಹೆಚ್ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆಯೋಕೆ ಮೊದಲ ಕಾರಣವೇ ಅದು. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಐವರು ಹೀರೋಯಿನ್ಸ್ ಅನ್ನೋದು. ಮುಸ್ಸಂಜೆ ಮಹೇಶ್ ಐವರು ಹೀರೋಯಿನ್‍ಗಳನ್ನಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಎಂತಹ ಕಥೆ ಮಾಡಿರಬಹುದು ಅನ್ನೋ ಕುತೂಹಲಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಸಣ್ಣದೊಂದು ಇಂಟ್ರೊಡಕ್ಷನ್ ಇದೆ. 

ಮೇಘನಾ ರಾಜ್ : ಕಾಲೇಜು ಹುಡುಗಿ. ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಹುಡುಗಿ. ತನಗೆ ಕೇಡಾದರೂ ಪರವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ..ಬೇರೆಯವರಿಗೆ ತೊಂದರೆ ಆಗಬಾರದು ಎಂದು ಬಯಸುವ ಹೆಣ್ಣು ಮಗಳು. ಪ್ರಬುದ್ಧತೆಯ ಜೊತೆಗೆ ರೆಬಲ್ ಅಂಶಗಳೂ ಇವೆ.

ಸಂಯುಕ್ತ ಹೊರನಾಡು : ಲೋಕಜ್ಞಾನ ಕಡಿಮೆ. ಮಾತು ಜಾಸ್ತಿ. ಸೌಮ್ಯ ಸ್ವಭಾವ. ಇಡೀ ಗುಂಪಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾಪಟ್ಟೆ ಸೈಲೆಂಟ್ ಆಗಿರುವ ಹುಡುಗಿ ಆಮೇಲೆ ವಯೊಲೆಂಟ್ ಆಗ್ತಾಳೆ. ಯಾಕೆ..? ಸಿನಿಮಾ ನೋಡಿ.

ದೀಪ್ತಿ : ರೌಡಿ ಛಾಯಾ. ಹುಡುಗರನ್ನೇ ಚುಡಾಯಿಸುವ ಎದೆಗಾರಿಕೆಯ ಹುಡುಗಿ. ಕಿಕ್‍ಬಾಕ್ಸಿಂಗ್ ಕೂಡಾ ಗೊತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಂಯುಕ್ತಾರದ್ದು ಡೋಂಟ್‍ಕೇರ್ ಪಾತ್ರ.

ನಕ್ಷತ್ರ : ಟಾಮ್‍ಬಾಯ್ ಕ್ಯಾರೆಕ್ಟರ್. ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕಲರಿಯಪಯಟ್ಟು ಕಲಿತಿದ್ದಾರಂತೆ. 

ರಾಗಿಣಿ ದ್ವಿವೇದಿ : ಈ ನಾಲ್ವರ ಗುಣವನ್ನೂ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಪೊಲೀಸ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯ ಪಾತ್ರ. ಫುಲ್ ಆಕ್ಷನ್ ಇರುವ ಝಾನ್ಸಿರಾಣಿಯ ಪಾತ್ರ ರಾಗಿಣಿಯದ್ದು.
