The iconic film Antha that launched Ambareesh as the Rebel Star will be released in theatres after 30 years this month. The film will be released on May 30. After Om this is another old film that has been remastered in digital 5.1 music. The film made Ambareesh a big star in the industry and was his first hit as a solo hero. The film was directed by Rajendra Singh Babu who is now chairman of Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy.

The film will be released in only 63 theatres to commemorate the 63rd birthday of Ambareesh.

Antha is Indian cinema's first purely political film.
