Vivin Surya's debut film 'Edakallu Guddada Mele' being produced by G P Prakash is all set to be released on the 11th of May. 'Edakallu Guddada Mele' is a children film with a good message. The film has already won an award at the Los Angeles film festival recently.

'Edakallu Guddada Mele' stars Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Srinath, Sumithra, Dattanna, Jyothi Rai, Veena Sundar, Dattanna, Dharmendra, Swathi Sharma and others in prominent roles. Ashik Arun is the music director, while Shankar is the camerman.

Aniruddh who was seen in a devotional film last has signed an action film next. The film is titled Raja Simha, a title that would have been very apt for Vishnuvardhan, Aniruddh's late father-in-law. The film is said to be a family entertainer with a flashback of action.

Aniruddh will be showcasing his muscle toned body in the film for the first time. The film is directed by M Ravi and produced by CB Basappa.

Jessie Gift is scoring the music and sources say Bharati Vishnuvardhan will be playing an important role in the film. The shooting of the film will start in February.

Veteran Kannada actresses Bharati Vishnuvardhan and Hema Chaudari escaped from the eye of the Vardah cyclone yesterday. To escape the cyclone they left for Bengaluru from Chennai early after attending a function. But without realising they drove right into the middle of the cyclone when it hit land.

Both the actress had been to Chennai for a private function.

On 12th around 4 pm they left Chennai for  Bengaluru. As they knew about Vardah cyclone they did not want to stay there and wanted to leave Chennai immediately. 

Speaking to Chitraloka from Vellore this Hema Chaudhary said that yesterday they had a great escape and it was like a rebirth to them. "When we left Chennai it was already raining heavily and we saw many trees fallen down on the road. Raghu was driving the car.  He is very scared of water. Around 7 PM we could not even see the road from inside the car. We saw some cars were floating in the water. We thought some dam must have broken so there was flooding. Since we had come so far away from Chennai we thought we were away from the cyclone. But after seeing cars floating we were scared and stopped the vehicle and halted at Vellore. We got into a hotel. Later we came to know that the place where we saw the water in front of us was the spot when Vardah cyclone was coming near land at Kanchipuram. We thank God for saving us and now we are leaving from Vellore."

Actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan who is a recipient of the Padmasri award for the year 2017 and others who won major awards at the national level are all set to be felicitated on 15th of April.

The felicitation programme has been organised by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy and the programme has been scheduled on Saturday evening at the Gandhi Bhavan in Bangalore.

Apart from Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Bapu Padmanabh, Ramakrishna, Nikhil Manju, master Manohar and others also will be felicitated at the same occasion.

The third edition of the hugely popular reality programme, 'Weekend with Ramesh' has started and already Prakash Rai, Jaggesh, Arjun Janya and Gangavathi Pranesh has featured in the programme.

This weekend the programme will feature actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and in this episode the actress who was recently conferred the Padmasri for her lifetime achievement in cinema will be sharing her experiences.

After Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, actress Priyamani will be seen in the next week episodes. Already the episode of Priymani has been shot and will be aired next Saturday and Sundaynight at 9 PM.

Veteran actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan who has acted in more than 100 movies in Kananda, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Malayalam languages has made her debut in Tulu and has acted in a new Tulu film called 'Ambar Caterers'.

'Ambar Caterers'  is written and directed by Jaiprasad Bajal is being produced by Suresh Bhandari. The film has already been launched and the shooting is in full progress.

Not only Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, but Sharathi Lohitashwa and Sindhu Lokanath have also made their debut to Tulu cinema with this film. Naveen Padil, Aravind Bolar and others play prominent roles in the film. Manikanth Kadri is the music director, while Santhosh Rai Pathaje is the cameraman.

Padma Sri awardee Bharathi Vishnuvardhan who had acted in many serials, is back to small screen with a new tele serial called 'Sevanthi'. The serial will be launched on the 25th of February in Udaya TV from Monday to Friday  at 7.30 PM.

The serial stars Bharathi Vishnuvardhan along with Shishir Shastri, Pallavi Gowda, Manjunath Bhatt, Krishna Adiga, Hamsa and others in prominent roles.

The serial is being directed by Vinod, while SAREGAMA productions is producing the show.

Veteran actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan will be honoured with the Padmasri award by the Government of India. The Information Ministry has released a list of awardees out of which Bharathi Vishnuvardhan will be given the Padmasri award for the year 2017.

Bharathi Vishnuvardhan came to Kannada film industry way back in 1960s and has acted in hundreds of films spanning five decades. Bharathi recently completed 50 years in the industry.

Veteran actress Bharati Vishnuvardhan has joined the shooting of Dodmane Hudga. The shooting for the film is currently underway in Melkote. The shooting also included Puneeth and Sumalatha Ambareesh. While Sumalatha and Ambareesh play Puneeth's parents in the film, Bharati Vishnuvardhan plays Ambareesh's elder sister sources said.

Shooting for the film started late February and a major portion of the shooting is already complete.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has asked Vishnuvardhan's fans to convince Bharathi Vishnuvardhan to build the Dr. Vishnuvardhan memorial in Bangalore itself. The CM has said that if she accepts, then the memorial will be built in Bangalore.

Earlier, there was a news that the Dr Vishnuvardhan memorial will be shifted from Bangalore's Abhiman Studio to Mysore. Even Vishnuvardhan's family including Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and Aniruddh had said that it is better to build the memorial in Mysore rather than Bangalore because of various legal problems. But the fans of the actor, protested against it saying that they wanted the memorial to be built in Bangalore. They even protested against this in Bangalore on Saturday and submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister in this regard.

It seems that the Chief Minister has asked Vishnuvardhan's fans to convince Bharathi Vishnuvardhan to build the memorial in Bangalore itself. If Vishnuvardhan's family gives their permission, then the memorial will not be shifted to Mysore said Siddaramaiah.

The High Court this morning stayed the grant of forest land to the Dr Vishnuvardhan memorial. Three environmentalists including Sharat Babu who is a consultant to the BBMP had filed a public interest litigation challenging the grant of two acres of land near Kengeri for the memorial.

The ground breaking ceremony for the event scheduled for this morning was however completed before the court made its order. It is challenged that the two acres is in the buffer zone of a notified forest which cannot be used for any purpose. The government advocate told the court that the ground breaking ceremony is already complete but the court said that since there was violation of forest rules it is staying the grant of land. With the stay further work on the memorial cannot go on. The order comes on the fifth death anniversary of Dr Vishnuvardhan. The memorial work has been riddled with problems for the last few years now.

It was nearly one year before that a documentary on Bharathi Vishnuvardhan titled 'Baala Bangara' was launched. The shooting commenced on the occasion of the actress birthday on August 15th. Now the documentary is almost nearing completion and will be released next month.

The documentary focuses on the childhood, career and personal life of Bharathi. The documentary captures the five decade journey of Bharathi Vishnuvardhan in six languages. Various artistes, technicians, family friends and relatives of Bharathi Vishnuvardhan has been interviewed for this documentary.  The post-production of this documentary is nearing completion and will be released in August.

The documentary is directed by Aniruddh, while it is produced by Keerthi Creations.

Actor and Vishnuvardhan's son-in-law Aniruddh is all set to do a documentary on Bharathi Vishnuvardhan titled 'Baala Bangara' and the documentary was launched on 15th of August on occasion of the actress birthday.

Aniruddh has launched a production company called Keerthi Creations and has done a couple of short films which will be released next month. Meanwhile, Aniruddh has started the documentary. The documentary was launched on Wednesday morning on occasion of Bharathi Vishnuvardhan's birthday.

Aniruddh intends to capture the five decade journey of Bharathi Vishnuvardhan in six languages. Various artistes, technicians, family friends and relatives of Bharathi Vishnuvardhan will be interviewed for this documentary.

The family of Dr Vishnuvardhan on Sunday celebrated his 66th birthday at his residence in Jayanagar.

Every year, Dr Vishnuvardhan's family used to celebrate his birthday in Abhiman Studio where the late actor was cremated. The place was in dispute and the family which were very much upset by the whole issue had decided to celebrate the late actor's birthday at his residence instead of the studio.

Dr Vishnuvardhan's grand son Jeshta and grand daughter Shloka along with Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Aniruddh and others celebrated the late actor's birthday by cutting the cake. Minister Mahadevappa was also present during the occasion.

Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, wife of late actor Vishnuvardhan has said that his memorial will be completed inn two years.

Bharathi Vishnuvardhan along with many family members visited the memorial site in Mysore on Wednesday on the occasion of Vishnuvardhan's birthday. Bharathi and the family members celebrated the late actor's birthday at the memorial place itself.

'We have finally got the land for the memorial after a long time. The process for the work of the memorial has already started and will be completed in two years' said Bharathi Vishnuvardhan.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Thursday said that the Government is ready to do anything for the Dr Vishnu Memorial and is waiting for the nod of Dr Vishnu's fans and Bharathi Vishnuvardhan.

Earlier, there was a news that the Dr Vishnuvardhan memorial will be shifted from Bangalore's Abhiman Studio to Mysore. Even Vishnuvardhan's family including Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and Aniruddh had said that it is better to build the memorial in Mysore rather than Bangalore because of various legal problems. The Vishnu Sena Samithi has been holding a protest in this regard in front of the Mahatma Gandhi statute near Race Course.

When asked about this during the launch of 'Panta', 'We are committed to do anything for the Dr Vishnuvardhan memorial. But it is now up to his family and fans to decide whether the memorial should be. After getting a nod from them, we will continue with the memorial' said Siddaramaiah.

The second edition of Dr Vishnuvardhan's comics in which he plays the role of a detective called Pattedara Sahasasimha was released at the Landmark Book Store in Koramangala. The event was attended by Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhan, Priyanka Upendra, Aniruddh, Keerthi Aniruddh, Nikitha Thukral and others. The comic has been released by Amar Chitra Katha.

This is the second edition of the famous 'Sahasasimha Series' and the first edition was released during the death anniversary of Dr Vishnuvardhan last year. The first in the comic series was titled as 'The Case of the Reluctant Pickpocket' and it featured Dr Vishnuvardhan along with his grandchildren Jeshta and Sholka.

'Firing Star' Venkat has launched his new film 'Porki Huchcha Venkat' in a slum in Chamarajapet. Veteran actress Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and KFCC ex-president B Vijayakumar came over as chief guests for the launch of the film.

Venkat says the place is very much lucky for him and that is why he opted to do the muhurath of the film in the slum. 'I have shot my previous two films here and the people here have always co-operated with me. So, I planned to launch the film here' said Venkat.

The film is written and directed by Venkat and he plays the lead role in the film. There are two heroines in the film and they are yet to be finalised.

Sudeep has come out in the open to sort out the long pending issue over the  Vishnuvardhan memorial. Why did Sudeep meet the chief minister yesterday? What is his stand on the issue? Why did he take a stand now? What are his demands? These are some of the questions bugging fans. Here is the real story of why Sudeep has come out in the open. 

Firstly the Vishnuvardhan memorial has become embroiled in controversy. Vishnuvardhan was cremated at the Abhiman Studio which was founded by late actor Balakrishna. It may be recalled that it was Sudeep who got built a memorial for Balakrishna in the same place some years ago. Balakrishna's samadhi was an open grave which was given a decent place by the efforts of Sudeep.

When Vishnuvardhan was cremated at the studio premises after his death a memorial was promised at the same place. But over the years many controversies have cropped up mainly because of the dispute over the land. The land was granted by the government but some of it has been sold to private parties. The surrounding land is forest land and cannot be used for other purposes. After much delay and controversy a memorial work has started in Mysuru. Vishnuvardhan was cremated in Abhiman Studio in Bengaluru but the memorial is coming up in Mysuru. This has upset many fans. The family of Vishnuvardhan have consented to the memorial in Mysuru because the government has said that it is impossible to build the memorial at the studio. 

This is why Sudeep had to intervene. There was tremendous pressure on him from the fans of Vishnuvardhan to intervene in the matter and force the government to let the samadhi remain in Abhiman Studio.

Sources said that in the meeting with Siddaramaiah, Sudeep has categorically said that he supported the wish of Bharati Vishnuvardhan for a memorial in Mysuru. But at the same time the samadhi in Abhiman Studio must not be shifted as it is a Punya Bhoomi. A proper samadhi should be built at Abhiman Studio. The government should solve the legal dispute and fans are not asking for any money. They are ready to fund the samadhi at Abhiman Studio themselves. 

Sudeep supports both the Samadhi at the Studio and the memorial at Mysuru. He requested the CM to speed up the work on both of them.
