same day that year mungaru male gave birth to many stars

While Andhra represents the elders in the film, Telangana represents youngsters.

More details about the film is yet awaited.

  • Dana Kayonu Songs on April 10th

    dana kayonuu image

The post production of Vijay starrer 'Dana Kayonu' which is directed by Yogaraj Bhatt is almost complete and the team is all set to release the songs of the film on the 10th of April. V Harikrishna has composed the songs of the film.

'Dana Kayonu' is produced by Kanakapura Srinivas under the R S Productions banner. Yogaraj Bhatt himself has written the story, screenplay and dialogues apart from directing the film. Sugnan is the cameraman.

  • Dana Kayonu Songs Released

    dana kayonu image

The songs of Vijay starrer 'Dana Kayonu' was released amidst much fan fare in Kanakapura on Friday night. Actress Rachita Ram, distributor Basha released the songs of the film. If everything had gone right, then Power Minister D K Shivakumar was supposed to release the audio of the film. However, D K Shivakumar and his brother D K Suresh were absent for the audio release.

Even Vijay and Priyamani were not present during the occasion. In their absence, Rachita Ram released the audio. Director Yogaraj Bhatt and Kanakapura Srinivas were present.

  • Danakayonu Vs Bharjari

    danakayonu vs bharjari

Director Yograj Bhat has written to concerned authorities that the producer of Danakayonu Kanakapura Srinivas has withheld the payment pending to him and other persons who have worked for the film. This was promised to be paid before the release of the film Bharjari but it has not been done. This complaint has put a question mark on the release of the new film Bharjari next week. Yograj Bhat has alleged that the tax free certificate of the film has not been signed by the concerned authorities but even then the producer's share of the box office collection has been withdrawn from theatres by the producers. He has said that he does not know if it is legal and proper but the authorities should look into it. He has said that the producer owes him Rs 24.5 lakh in arrears.

Yograj Bhat has pleaded with the authorities and the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to force the producer to pay the dues to him and the other technicians including cinematographer Sugnan. Danakayonu released in October last year and had a decent run at the box office. The problems between the producer on the one side and the director and other technicians had not come out in the open till now.

After Yograj Bhat's complaint the Information Department has replied that the producer has not applied for the 100 per cent tax exemption certificate. Now it is surprising if the producer has indeed managed to take his share of the box office collection without the certificate in hand. If he has managed to as Bhat alleges it would be a major wrong and the producer will be in trouble.

  • Diganth Runs In Fancy In Yogaraj Bhatt Film

    actor diganth

A publicity photo released by Yogaraj Movies shows actor Diganth, in what appears to be, completely nude. The actor is running on a road and his private parts are blacked out. This is the first look of the film Parapancha directed by Krish Joshi and under the Yograj Bhat banner.

This is not the first time Diganth has found himself in such a photograph. In Dev S/o Mudde Gowda, the film's title covered his private parts while his pants were shown down. This had created huge controversy and had to be later withdrawn. But the photo from Parapancha goes a step further and looks like a fully nude scene by an actor in Kannada for the first time.

  • Film Critic Shyam Prasad Acting Debut

Journalists turning film producers, directors, script writers is not new to any film industry. Here is the latest addition but as an actor! S Shyam Prasad is a legal reporter in a Bengaluru newspaper and also a film journalist who writes about Kannada films. He is also a film critic reviewing Kannada films. A surprise on Saturday evening at the launch of Yograj Bhat produced and Krish Joshi directed Parapancha was Shyam's photo in the trailer.

    parapancha_shyam.jpg

Film sources said Bhat asked him to essay the small character in the film. Shyam has also written dialogues for Garshane and C/oFootpath2 earlier. Journalists who have acted and made a mark as actors in recent years are RG Vijayasarathi and Yethiraj.

Chitraloka editor KM Veeresh is also a Kannada film producer and distributor.

Gaalipata 2 Movie Review, Chitraloka Rating 4/5

    Gaalipata 2 Movie Review

    Director: Yograj Bhat

Cast: Ganesh, Diganth, Anant Nag, Sharmila Mandre, Vaibhavi Shandilya, Samyuktha Menon, Pawan Kumar

    Duration: 2 hours 38 minutes

    Stars: 4/5

Sunshine of emotions amidst rain and snow

Working together seems to get the best out of director Yograj Bhat and actor Ganesh. They haven’t been prolific together but all their films together have been well-made and designed to transport audience to a world of emotions.

Gaalipata 2 comes nearly a decade and half after the original and had much riding on it. The template of the original is followed; three college students meet three girls they fall in love with. How these relationships change the dandies is a script that Bhat has been writing all along.

If the template is the same, how does Gaalipata 2 become special or watchable? To Bhat’s credit, he comes up with saying all the familiar things in a new way. The dialogues, which is usually the high-point of his films oozes with freshness.

The usual wit and humour is present in a considerable dose. But he does not overdo it this time. Usually, his films seem to have more than the quantity of dialogues required. He has managed to hold his horses and deliver only what is required here.

The songs, which are another highlights of Bhat’s films contain meaningful lyrics rather than pop philosophy. So unlike his regular songs which become instant hits, these songs grow up on you. After hearing it once, you are compelled to remember the lyrics and long to listen to them again.

The youthful banter, jokes, fun, irreverence, tapori characters all combine to make Gaalipata 2 a perfect recipe for a new generation of audience who may not have watched Mungaru Male and Gaalipata in theatres in the first decade of the 21st Century. This is the third decade of the Century and the words, jokes and fun are updated. What remains the same are the emotions.

Technically, this is a brilliant film. The camera work of Santhosh Rai Pathaje deserves an award or two. He is so flawless in executing brilliant shots that look so simple. The editing is another department that deserves special mention. The art work in some places is amazing and you are left wondering how they did it. The canvas is really colorful and Gaalipata is best enjoyed on the big screen, for all its vibrancy.

On the acting front Ganesh nails it like a pro. He is king of emotions, a real golden performance. Among the other cast, Anant Nag is his usual best and you cannot even think of another actor in his place.

Forget the story, forget the relevance and forget the past films. Go to Gaalipata 2 and soak in the wet emotions, cool breeze of fun and soft kisses of snowy fun. This may not be a landmark film, but has the right amount of everything to draw all kinds of audience.

  • I Love You To Clash With Panchatantra

i love you to clash with panchatantantra movie

Two of the big upcoming films, I Love You starring Upendra and directed by R Chandru and Panchatantra directed by Yogaraj Bhat will clash at the box office. Both films will release on February 14. The release date of I Love You was announced last week.

The audio launch of the film is this week. Meanwhile Panchatantra has finalised on the release date now. The clash of expected films is inevitable in the next few months as there are a huge number of big films lined up for release. This is the first high profile clash of 2019. But audience can expect more such offerings in the weeks to come.

  • I watched Panchatantra and was bowled - KM Veeresh

i watched panchatantra and was bowled

The post production work on Panchatantra is underway. The shooting was completed sometime ago and the editing has also been locked. Some graphic work, background  score and other works are underway.

At this juncture, I got the opportunity to watch some portions of the film. It is stunning to say the least. This is the first film of Yograj Bhat that is not completely a romantic film. Most of his films have romance as the basic subject. In Panchatantra  the subject is sports and action though there is a romantic angle also. The action portions I watched were some of the best I have seen in Kannada films.

These are not the regular fights between hero and the villains. The action is more on the dirt tracks. Race car zoom across in a thrilling encounter which is to be seen to be believed. The pulse-racing adventure has been brilliantly captured and choreographed. It is a thriller and adrenaline pumping feast.

When I interacted with Yograj Bhat after watching the film's scenes, I was wonder struck by how passionate he still is about every aspect of the film making process. Most fans are addicted to the lyrics he writes for his own films and those of other films. He has made 14 films in 14 years. It is just one film per year. That means, fans have to wait a long time for every new offering. That is because he invests so much time and effort in each film he makes.

For Panchatantra he took the story from his team. He usually writes the story for his own films but has given a break to that this time. Panchatantra, from what I have seen so far, is quite unlike any film of Yograj Bhat or for that matter most films in Sandalwood.

For starters it is one of the rare films on sports in Kannada. We have so many films on sports coming in Hindi in recent years. Stories of real sportspersons are being adapted to films frequently. That is missing in other language films in India. Though Panchantra is not about a real sports person it is about a sport that is not often featured in films.

The film required a great deal of help for professionals of motorsport. You cannot just bring a sports car driven on dirt tracks and put an actor into it and start shooting. I could only imagine the effort gone into making these portions of the film. Speaking to Bhat, I realised that the effort was much more than I imagined. There are very interesting stories about the making of the film which I will reveal regularly on Chitraloka.com.

  • MuguluNage Movie Review - Chitraloka Rating 4/5

    mugulunage image

Since the last 10 years when Mungaru Male was made, hundreds of directors actors and technicians have tried to make the next Mungaru Male. There was also an attempt to make Mungaru Male part 2, but none of these films reached the peak in excellence or the box office collection of the original film. Finally there is a film that matches the intensity and emotional touch of Mungaru Male. It is none other than Mugulu Nage. Not surprisingly it is director Yograj Bhat and actor Ganesh who are together again in this film.

Mughal Nage should rank among one of the best movies in the careers of Yograj Bhat and Ganesh. The film is not only an emotional journey but an entertaining feast for the audience. The film chronicles the journey of a young man in the ups and downs of his journey in his relationship with four different girls.

The film takes the audience through various moods even as the various shooting locations pass through the screen like Mysore-Bangalore, Pondicherry and coastal Karnataka. Each of the four heroines in the film brings out various personality traits of the lead actor in this film. Ganesh plays the role of Pulkeshi an engineer. He has a strange problem. He has been unable to crying since he was born. As his relationship with the various girls he comes in contact with takes a turn for the worse is it possible for him to remain like this throughout his life? That is the philosophical question Yograj Bhat answers in this mesmerizing film.

It would be a mistake to reveal the story of the film. It would be best enjoyed watching it on the screen. There is not one but four different stories that combined together to bring about the idea Yogaraj Bhat wants to convey.

The characters created by the director are enchanting and will stay in the minds of the audience for a very long time. As usual the dialogues written by him are peppy and interesting. Ganesh gets a role of a lifetime it is one of the best roles has done since Mungaru Male.

Apart from a good story, good cinematography and good dialogues the film also has beautiful music. The song have been composed by Hari Krishna and the lyrics are by Yograj Bhat and Jayanth Kaikini. The cinematography is a big plus point for the film. Sugnaan has come out with beautiful camera work.

Apart from Ganesh the four leading ladies have done a wonderful job in the acting department. The supporting cast is also very good.

  • Panchatantra review: Chitraloka Rating 4/ 5

    panchatantra movie review

Director Yogaraj Bhat is back with yet another masterpiece, and this time he dwells upon the mindsets of two different generations - one which is full of youth but lacks maturity and other comprising the gang of senior citizens who are mischievous by nature. The value addition to it comes in the form of a care race due to which Panchatantra wins the entertaining game in the end.

This one is filled with every typical element, which the Yogaraj Bhat fans can ask for. From his typical dialogues, songs to humour and emotional content, the director has spared none to make it a complete family entertainer. Plus the adventurous race in the second half makes it a must watch film.

On the outset, it is a simple tale which is inspired from the Hare and the Tortoise story from Aesop's fable, which emphasises the value of being slow and steady in achieving one's goal. Pegged around it, Bhat's Panchatantra has two rival gangs fighting it out for supremacy. The younger lot is headed by Karthik played by Vihan Gowda and and the elderly gang headed by Raganna played by Rangayana Raghu.

With a property dispute as the epicenter, the two gang fight it out to claim the ownership of it. The escapades during the process of pulling each other's leg gives Panchatantra the much needed punch for a joyful ride. In between there is a love story of Karthik and Sahitya, the daughter of Raganna.

When Raganna finds about his daughter's love affair, the furious clash leads to an unusual challenge. The two gang then legally agree on a car race. The one who wins the race gets the property and Karthik gets his girl too. Vihaan, Akshara, Sonal and the gang puts up a formidable performance and the Rangayana Raghu, Kari Subbu and their experienced gang are at their usual best.

    V. Harikrishna scores a couple of soothing romantic song along with the unusual ones penned by the director himself.

After all the laughter ride, the second half is about the car race and how the director smartly webs the age old value and its moral lessons is the essence of it. Watch it without fail to know who wins the race in the end.
