V. Ravichandran's new film which is titled as 'Kannadiga' is all set to be launched on the auspicious festival day of Viayadashami.

'Kannadiga' is being written and directed by 'Jatta' Giriraj and produced by N S Rajakumar. This is the third time the duo is being teamed up after 'Jatta' and 'Mythri' starring Mohan Lal and Puneeth Rajakumar.

'Kannadiga' dates back to the 18th century during the era of Reverend Ferdinand Kittel. The film is based on a true incident, where Ravichandran plays the role of a Kannada scholar in the film. Jamie Alter, son of well known actor Tom Alter has been roped in to play the role of Ferdinand Kittel.

The shooting for the film is all set to start in Chickmagalur from November

Actor-director Ravichandran has decided to release his magnum opus by November. Ravichandran himself declared this during the audio launch of 'Ringmaster'. 'I have decided to release the film by November 1st.

The film has been delayed and you will get the answer about why the film has been delayed. I have tried a different type of editing for this film, which no one has tried so far. So, it is taking a lot of time. The film is in the post-production stage and I hope to complete the film soon and release it by November' said Ravichandran.

If the advertisements of Anup Revanna and Meghana Raj starrer 'Lakshmana' is to be believed, then the film is all set to release in three states and 12 countries simultaneously. 'Lakshmana' is all set to be released on the 24th of June and the advertisements claim, the film is going to be simultaneously released in three states and 12 countries. However, there is no mention of in which places the film is going to be released apart from Karnataka.

'Lakshmana' marks the debut of Anup Revanna who is the son of Member of Legislative Council H M Revanna. Revanna's wife Vatsala Revanna is the producer of this film, which R Chandru has directed the film apart from scripting the film. The film is a remake of Telugu hit 'Athanokkade '.

One of the highlights of the film is, actor-director V Ravichandran plays a prominent role in the film. Meghana Raj is the heroine of the film, while Arjun Janya has composed the songs for the film.

'Sanchari' Vijay who won the National award for best actor for his performance in the film 'Nanvanalla Avalu' was felicitated in Bangalore on Wednesday night at Gold Finch Hotel. The event was organised by none other than actor-director-producer Prakash Rai.

The event was attended by well known actor-director Parthiban, V Ravichandran, Girish Kasaravalli, B Suresha, Jogi and others. The dignitaries felicitated the award winners and lauded not only the awardees for their effort but also about Prakash Rai who had organised such a function.

Apart from Vijay, producer Ravi Garani and director Lingadevaru of 'Nanavanalla Avalu' and 'Harivu' producer Girish as well as director Mansore was felicitated during the occasion.

It's been a long time since actor-director Ravichandran celebrated his birthday with fans. Ravichandran off late avoided celebrating his birthdays saying he will celebrate his birthday only after a new film of his releases.

Ravichandran acting in the remake of Tamil hit `Dhruvangal Padinaru' is not a new news. The film is complete and the trailer of the film was launched in Bangalore recently.

'Aa Drishya' is a thriller with lots of commercial elements in it. Ravichandran plays the role of a investigative officer in this film.  Rahman had acted in the original film and Ravichandran has replaced him in the remake. Apart from Ravichandran, Chaitra Achar, Ajith Jayaraj, Nisarga, Girish, Yash Shetty and others play prominent roles in the film.

'Aa Drishya' is produced by K Manju, while Shivaganesh who had earlier directed 'Jigar Thanda' and 'Trataka' has directed the film. Vinod Bharathi is the cinematographer, while Gowtham Srivatsa has composed a song and background score for this film.

Actor-director Ravichandran on Thursday night released the songs of Arun Sagar starrer 'Ringmaster' amidst much fanfare at the Bangalore International Hotel. Speaking after the launch, 'I have stopped coming to such functions off late. The reason I came here today is simply because of love and friendship. Based on seeing the songs and trailer, I can say that this will become a good film. Don't delay the release of the film' said Ravichandran.

Arun Sagar, Anushree, Shrunga, director Vishruth Nayak, producers Silk Manju, Basavaraj, Satyanarayan, music director Ravi Basrur and others were present at the occasion. The songs have been released through Anand Audio.

ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಕೋಟಿ ಬಜೆಟ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಿ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದ ಮಾರುಕಟ್ಟೆ ಎಷ್ಟಿದೆ ಎಂದು ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರೇಮಲೋಕದ ರಣಧೀರ. ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಆಸಕ್ತಿ ಇರುವವರಿಗೆ ರವಿಚಂದ್ರನ್ ವೃತ್ತಿ ಜೀವನವೇ ಒಂದು ಪಠ್ಯಪುಸ್ತಕವಿದ್ದಂತೆ. ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಖಾಸಗಿ ವಿವಿಯಿಂದ ಗೌರವ ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದ ರವಿಚಂದ್ರನ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಈಗ ಬೆಂಗಳೂರು ವಿವಿ ಗೌರವ ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಏಪ್ರಿಲ್ 11ರಂದು ನಡೆಯಲಿರೋ ಘಟಿಕೋತ್ಸವದಲ್ಲಿ ಗೌರವ ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್ ಪದವಿ ಪ್ರದಾನ ಸಮಾರಂಭ ನಡೆಯಲಿದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ನಾನು ನೀಡಿದ ಕೊಡುಗೆಯನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವ ಗೌರವ ಡಾಕ್ಟರೇಟ್‍ನ್ನು ವಿನೀತನಾಗಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಹೃದಯ ತುಂಬಿ ಬಂದಿದೆ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ರವಿಚಂದ್ರನ್. ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಹಲವು ಗಣ್ಯರು ಡಾ.ರವಿಚಂದ್ರನ್ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಶುಭ ಕೋರಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
