Ajith's Tamil film 'Yennai Arindhaal' was dubbed to Kannada as 'Satyadev IPS'. Now his another film 'Aarambham' has been dubbed to Kannada as 'Dheera' and is waiting for release.

'Aarambham' was released a few years back and was an hit in Tamil Nadu. Now the same film has been dubbed to Kannada as 'Dheera'. G Krishnamurthy who had dubbed 'Satyadev IPS' has dubbed this film also. The film stars Ajith, Nayanatara, Rana Daggubati and others in prominent roles.

The film has already been censored and is waiting for release.

Pooja Gandhi is dubbing her new film Abhinetri in eight languages apart from Kannada. The Kannada version which is ready will be released this month. The script work for the other languages; Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Bhojpuri, Hindi, Punjabi and Malayalam is in progress.

The film is inspired by the life of actress Kalpana and Pooja Gandhi feels that since it is a universal subject the film will work in all languages. Currently the actress is getting ready for a publicity blitz for the Kannada film and will announce the release date officially on January 8.

Dubbing voices in odd hours is not in Sandalwood. Many artistes had dubbed their voices early in the morning as the voice will be fresh. Ganesh is one step ahead and is dubbing in mid-night for his new film 'Style King.

Ganesh plays two different characters in the film. While one character is soft, the other is a negative character with a husky voice. So, director P C Shekhar has decided to get Ganesh's voice dubbed in the mid-night, so that it will be husky.

The dubbing has started and Ganesh is dubbing his voice in the mid-night for the last couple of days. The dubbing is likely to be concluded soon.

A case was filed against the the Coordination Committee of Artist and Technicians of West Bengal Film and Television Industry in the Competition Commission of India after its members protested against the telecast of the  Mahabharata serial dubbed from Hindi to Bengali. In 2012, except one member all others in CCI said the protest harmed competition. The case went on appeal before the appeals committee of the CCI. The appeals committee ruled that protesting is a fundamental right and it cannot be called anti competition. 

Legitimate protest by the members of the actors and technicians of a body is not at all against any rules or law. On the other hand protests are fundamental rights in a democratic country. To take an extreme example even film theaters are banned in Kashmir because films are considered bad influence. But people have the right to protest against the ban as well as protest against films.

Dubbed film 'Satyadev IPS' which was supposed to release across Karnataka on Friday is not at all releasing in Bangalore.

Protest Against Dubbing Legitimate - CCI

'Satyadev IPS' was supposed to release in more than 60 theaters across Karnataka. However, the release in Bangalore has been postponed because of lack of theaters. The film was said to release in Nataraja or Sampige theaters in Bangalore. However, the release has been stalled because of non-availability of theaters.

With no release in Bangalore, the film will be release outside Bangalore. However, there is a doubt that the film would be released other places also because the theater list has not been announced.

The news about 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' being dubbed to Kannada has finally come true. The trailer of the Kannada version was released on Youtube on Tuesday. 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' is a Hollywood film being produced by Marvel Studios and being distributed by Sony Pictures. The film is all set to release on the 07th of July and the film will be dubbed in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Marathi and other languages apart from directly releasing in English.

Recently pro Kannada activist and former Member of Legislative Assembly Vatal Nagaraj had called for a film industry bundh and a public rally against dubbing. Many artistes and technicians participated in the rally. Now that the 'Spider-Man' is all set to release in Kannada, it has to be seen, what step does the pro Kannada activists take this time.

From the last 2-3 years the chorus for releasing dubbed films and serials in Karnataka is gaining lots of attention. The argument going on is Kannada language can be saved from the dubbed movies. That is what UNESCO says about saving language, some aruge. Some organisations are against dubbing and several protests were taken up. But CCI (Competition Commission of India) has finalised their decision in favour of dubbing. So legally there is no way of stopping dubbing unless a law is made by the State or Union governments.

Once when CCI entered the field KFCC, KFPA, directors association, KTV, Okkutta and some organisations had to keep quiet and not voice their opposition as it was against competition according to CCI.

But Some individual organisations are still fighting against dubbed movies. Now there is a huge buzz that Bahubali 2, the Telugu film should be dubbed in Kannada and should get released. This is getting more attraction in social media. Chitraloka collected information from many sectors and many of them are opposing the dubbing of this movie to Kannada. There is also opposition to the release of the Telugu film itself for the reason of Satyaraj. The Tamil actor who plays a major role in the film had spoken very cheaply during the Cauvery water protests in Tamil Nadu. He had insulted Karnataka and Vatal Nagaraj and other Kannadigas.

CCI Imposes Fine on KFCC in Dubbing Issue

People supporting dubbing in Kannada are bringing old other language movies to get it released here. Probably it's an attempt to make the entry of dubbed movies de facto. Legally there is no bar on dubbing and sooner or later, big budget films of other languages will be released in Kannada dubbed versions.

It will open up the Kannada market for other languages this way. Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and English film makers can look forward to making more profit in Karnataka from their films.

In Tamil Nadu dubbed movies are released but at the same time the dubbed film's original language is not allowed to release. Chitraloka contacted many persons from the film industry regarding this and they are of similar opinion. They say let the dubbed movies get released but they should not release their straight movies here. Let the government take action making all movies should enter to Karnataka in Kannada version only.

Challenges Before Dubbing - Exclusive

Some of our own people who are fighting for the dubbed movies release are not talking about this aspect. Are they for release of both the original and dubbed films at the same time? If a movie like Bahubali2 gets released it will occupy more than 300 screens in Telugu version in Karnataka and dubbed versions in Kannada will occupy another 300 screens. This will damage our original Kannada films more than anything. For example, say in Rajajinagar area, Telugu films are released in Anjan theatre and Kannada films in the neighbouring Prasanna and Veeresh theatres. If Baabhubali 2 releases only in Kannada it may occupy Anjan theatre. But if it releases in both Kannada and Telugu, it will occupy Anjan with Telugu version and either Prasanna and Veeresha in Kannada version. Last time when Baahubali part 1 released, Kannada films like Rangi Taranga managed to survive and thrive because of this. Now if both language version of other language films release, original Kannada films will not have theatres. This will be the situation not only in Rajajinagar or Bengaluru but across Karnataka.

Will other language film makers agree to release only the dubbed Kannada version in Karnataka is the big question. They are already minting money in Karnataka and it is unlikely they will agree to this  situation. Last time Baahubali Part 1 released in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi versions in Karnataka. They occupied the screens that regularly screen these language films. Telugu version released in films regularly screening Telugu films and likewise for Tamil and Hindi versions. If a Kannada version is released, it will be released in theatres screening original Kannada films regularly.

Dubbing In Kannada Will Be Failure - Prashanth

Kannada films occupy 50 per cent of the single screens in Bengaluru and around 25 per cent of the multiplex screens now. If other language films are dubbed in Kannada, the share of other language films will increase, albeit in the guise of Kannada language. The profits will flow out of Karnataka. Now 30-40 per cent of film revenue in Karnataka goes out of Karnataka. With dubbed films it will increase to 50 percent or beyond that according to film industry sources. It will mean less investment in Kannada films.

March 3 is a significant date in the history of Kannada films. It is the day that the first Kannada talkie film Sati Sulochana was released more than 80 years ago. It heralded the arrival of Kannada Language films independent from the silent era films before that. By releasing the dubbed film on March 3, a message is being sent that Independence of Kannada film industry is at stake. It is like holding a Pakistani film festival on Indian Independence Day.

ಬಹಳಷ್ಟು ಜನರಿಗೆ ನೆನಪಿದೆಯೋ.. ಇಲ್ಲವೋ.. ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್ ನಿಷಿದ್ಧವಿತ್ತು. ಈಗ ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್ ಓಪನ್. ಆ ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್ ಓಪನ್ ಆಗೋಕೆ ಕಾರಣವಾದ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಕೈಟ್ಸ್. ಹೃತಿಕ್ ರೋಷನ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಅದು. ಆ ಚಿತ್ರದವರು ಶುರು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದು ಕೂಡಾ ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್‍ಗಾಗಿ ಆಲ್ಲ, ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಥಿಯೇಟರ್ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧಗಳ ವಿರುದ್ಧ. ಆಗ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬೇರೆ ಭಾಷೆಯ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಿಗೆ ಎಷ್ಟು ಬೇಕೆಂದರೆ ಅಷ್ಟು ಥಿಯೇಟರ್ ಕೊಡುವ ಹಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಅದು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್‍ನಷ್ಟೇ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಕಾಂಪಿಟೇಷನ್ ಕಮಿಟಿ ಆಫ್ ಇಂಡಿಯಾಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಥಿಯೇಟರ್ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧವೂ ತೆರವಾಯ್ತು. ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್ ನಿರ್ಬಂಧವೂ ಹೋಯ್ತು. ಅವರೇ ಶುರು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ಹೋರಾಟ.. ಈಗ ಅವರಿಗೇ ಮುಳುವಾಗುತ್ತಿರೋ ಕಾಲವಿದು.

ಇದು ಸುದೀಪ್ ಅವರ ಟ್ವೀಟ್‍ನಿಂದ ಶುರುವಾದ ಕಥೆಗಿಂತ ಬೇರೆಯದೇ ಆದ ಕಥೆ. ಹಿಂದಿಯವರಿಗೆ ಹೊಸ ಹೊಸ ಆಕ್ಸಿಜನ್ ಕೊಟ್ಟವರು ಹಿಂದಿಯವರಲ್ಲ, ಬದಲಿಗೆ ಬೆಂಗಾಳಿ, ತಮಿಳು, ಮಲಯಾಳಂ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರು. ಆದರೆ.. ದಕ್ಷಿಣದ ಹೀರೋಯಿನ್ನುಗಳನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡಷ್ಟು ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಇಲ್ಲಿನ ಹೀರೋಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಿಯವರು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಕಮಲ್ ಹಾಸನ್, ರಜನಿಕಾಂತ್, ವೆಂಕಟೇಶ್, ಚಿರಂಜೀವಿ.. ಮೊದಲಾದವರು ಹೀಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಹಾಗೆ ವಾಪಸ್ ಬಂದರು. ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತ ಎಂದರೆ ಮದರಾಸಿ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ದಡ್ಡರೇ ತುಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್‍ನವರು ಮೊದಲು ಅವರ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಪ್ರಚಾರಕ್ಕೂ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದತ್ತ ಬರುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

ಅದಾದ ಮೇಲೂ ಅವರು ಮೊದಲಿಗೆ ಕಾಲಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದು ಮದ್ರಾಸಿಗಲ್ಲ. ಬೆಂಗಳೂರಿಗೆ. ಕಾರಣ ಇಷ್ಟೆ, ಮದ್ರಾಸಿಗಳು ಅರ್ಥಾತ್ ತಮಿಳವರು ತಮಿಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊಡಲ್ಲ. ಓಪನ್ ಸ್ವಾಗತ ಕೋರುವ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಏಕೈಕ ರಾಜ್ಯ ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ. ಕಾಲಚಕ್ರ ತಿರುಗಿತು. ಈಗ ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್‍ನ್ನು ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತ ಬೆಚ್ಚಿಬೀಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದೆ.

ಇಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್ ಆದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಹಿಂದಿಯವರನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ನಟ, ನಟಿಯರು, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರ ಮೀಟಿಂಗ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದು ಆ ಸಭೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್ ಬ್ಯಾನ್ ಮಾಡಬಾರದೇಕೆ ಎಂಬ ಚರ್ಚೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಅದು ಸಿಸಿಐ ಇರುವವರೆಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಹಾಗೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗವೇ ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್ ಪರ ವಾದಿಸಿತ್ತು ಎಂಬ ಕಾರಣದಿಂದಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದೆ ಸರಿಯಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಒಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬುಡಕ್ಕೆ ಬೆಂಕಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರುವುದು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟ. ಅಜಯ್ ದೇವಗನ್ ಟ್ವೀಟಿನ ಮರ್ಮವೇ ಅದು.

ಇಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್ ಎಡವಿದ್ದು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಬುದು ಗುಟ್ಟೇನಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಕೊಳ್ಳೋಕೆ ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್ ತಯಾರಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಿಂದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಬರುವ.. ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಭಾರತೀಯತೆಯೇ ಇರೋದಿಲ್ಲ ಅನ್ನೋದು ಕಟು ಸತ್ಯ. ಕಥೆಗಳು ನಡೆಯೋದು ಭಾರತ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೊರಗಿನ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ. ಮಿಕ್ಕಂತೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ತೋರಿಸೋದು ಅಕ್ರಮ ಸಂಬಂಧ, ಅಫೇರುಗಳ ಲೈಂಗಿಕ ಸ್ವೇಚ್ಛೆಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರತಿಪಾದಿಸುವ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು. ಕಥೆ, ದೃಶ್ಯ, ಸಂಬಂಧ.. ಇದ್ಯಾವುದರಲ್ಲೂ ಭಾರತೀಯತೆ ಇರೋದಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ಭಾರತದ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳು ಹಾಗಲ್ಲ.

ಹಿಂದಿಯ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ನಟರೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಗೆಸ್ಟ್ ನಟರಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಶಾರೂಕ್ ಚೆನ್ನೈ ಎಕ್ಸ್‍ಪ್ರೆಸ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ರಜನಿಗೆ ಸೆಲ್ಯೂಟ್ ಹೊಡೆದಿದ್ದೂ, ನಂತರ ತಮ್ಮ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ರಜನಿ ಅವರನ್ನೇ ಅತಿಥಿ ನಟರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ರಜನಿಯ 2.0 ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ಷಯ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ವಿಲನ್. ಕಾಲಚಕ್ರ ತಿರುಗೋಕೆ ಶುರುವಾಗಿದೆ ಅನ್ನೋದರ ಸಿಗ್ನಲ್ ಅಲ್ಲಿತ್ತು.

ಮಲಯಾಳಂನಲ್ಲಂತೂ ಕೇರಳ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಆಚೆಗೆ ಹೋಗದೆ, ಸ್ಥಳೀಯ ಗಟ್ಟಿ ಕಥೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ಬೆರಗು ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತವೆ. ತಮಿಳು ಮತ್ತು ತೆಲುಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅದ್ಧೂರಿ ಮೇಕಿಂಗ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಕಥೆಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ಅಚ್ಚರಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತವೆ.

ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಈಗ ಅದ್ಧೂರಿ ಮೇಕಿಂಗ್ ಮತ್ತು ಗಟ್ಟಿ ಕಥೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬ್ಲೆಂಡ್ ಮಾಡುವ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳು ಬರೋಕೆ ಶುರುವಾಗಿವೆ. ದೇಶದ ಯಾವುದೇ ಮೂಲೆಯ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಪ್ರೇಕ್ಷಕನಿಗೆ ಇದು ನಮ್ಮ ನೆಲದ ಕಥೆ ಎನ್ನಿಸಿದಾಗ.. ಸಹಜವಾಗಿಯೇ ಗೆಲ್ಲುತ್ತವೆ. ಆಗಿರೋದು ಇಷ್ಟೆ.

ಹಾಗಂತ ಇದು ಹಿಂದಿಯವರನ್ನು ಉರಿಸುತ್ತಾ.. ಸಂಭ್ರಮಿಸುವ ಕಾಲವಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಇದಿನ್ನೂ ಆರಂಭ ಅಷ್ಟೆ. ಇಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಹಿಂದಿಯವರೂ ಬದಲಾಗಿ.. ಒಳ್ಳೊಳ್ಳೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟರೆ.. ಅವು ನಮ್ಮದೇ ಭಾಷೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕರೆ ನಷ್ಟವಾದರೂ ಏನು..? ಅಲ್ವಾ..?

ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್. ಬರಬೇಕೋ ಬೇಡವೋ ಎಂಬ ಚರ್ಚೆ ಬಿರುಸಿನಿಂದ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ನಿಲ್ಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ನವರಸ ನಾಯಕ ಜಗ್ಗೇಶ್, ತಮ್ಮ ವಾದದಿಂದ ಹಿಂದೆ ಸರಿದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಡಬ್ಬಿಂಗ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪೇನಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಸಂವಿಧಾನವೇ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಮ್ಮದೇನಿದೆ.

ನನ್ನ ಈ ಹಿಂದಿನ ನಡಾವಳಿಗಳಿಂದ ನೋವಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ ಕ್ಷಮೆ ಇರಲಿ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕನ್ನಡಿಗರಿಗೆ ಏನ ಇಷ್ಟವೋ.. ಅದನ್ನು ನೋಡಲು ಪಡೆಯಲು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರು ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಜಗ್ಗೇಶ್.
