Well known actor-director-producer K N Taylor who is known as the father of Tulu Cinema died in Mangalore today afternoon due to health related problems. K N Taylor who had earned himself a good name as Tulu playwright came to film industry in 1970s as a producer. Taylor first produced 'Darada Budedi' in early 70s. Though the film was considered as the first film of Tulu, it was released as the second film of Tulu. After that Taylor producer 'Kasdaye Kandane' and 'Yaan Sanyasi Aape', which were directed by Geethapriya.

Taylor not only produced and directed films, he also acted in it. Apart from that he introduced artistes like Jayamala, Geethapriya and others to Tulu cinema. He was recently conferred an award during the Centenary celebrations of Indian cinema which was held in Chennai a few years back
