After an impressive Churikatte, Praveen Tej is back with yet another intelligently made crime thriller. What strikes the most in 'Striker’, is the manner in which the director Pavan Trivikram has given a new spin to the crime thriller, for an edge of the seat experience.

Despite revolving around a murder and the suspense over whodunnit, the twist in the tale is a neatly webbed confusion over dream and reality take on it.

The protagonist, portrayed by Praveen suffers from a mental disorder due to which he cannot differentiate between dream and reality, and in such circumstances he gets embroiled in a murder. Is the murder real or is it a figment of imagination of the protagonist, is the surprise element which keeps the audience hooked onto right till the end.

Apart from the decent performances, Striker scores good with music. Sourav Loki, who has been making noise for his villainous avatars, delivers his best as a cop along with Dharamanna Kadur who gives the thriller the much needed humour. Shilpa Manjunath too shines bright in a pretty role. Striker is a good watch in the end which comes with an innovative touch to the set crime thriller.

Dreams that are more likely to be confused with reality tend to be more realistic and unpleasant, and are reflected in waking behavior. Going by the trailer of ‘Striker’, the tales revolves around one such disorder suffered by the main protagonist in the movie played by Praveen Tej.

In medical terms dream-reality confusion is related to characteristics of borderline personality disorder, and the makers of Striker have webbed a crime thriller pegged around it.

Directed by Pawan Trivikram, the movie made under Garudadri Arts is set to release on Feb 22. After a impressive act in Churikatte, Praveen Tej will be seen in this crime thriller with Saurav Lokesh in cop's avatar and Shilpa Manjunath playing the love interest of Praveen Tej.

Pavan Trivikram's psychological thriller 'Striker' has been censored with an 'U/A' certificate and the film is all set to release on the 22nd of February.

'Striker' is a film about dream and reality and Pavan Trivkram himself has written the story apart from directing the film. The film stars Praveen and 'Bhajarangi' Loki in prominent roles. Shilpa Manjunath is the heroine and Dharmanna is seen in a main role in the film. 'Striker' has been shot in Bangalore and other places.

The film is being produced by Garudadri Productions banner. K Kalyan and Simple Suni has written two songs for the film. Rakesh Erakalla is the cameraman, while Bharath B J is the music director.

ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಅನಾಥ ಹುಡುಗಿಯಾಗಿ, ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ತೇಜ್ ಭ್ರಮಾಲೋಕದ ಹುಡುಗನಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ತಮಿಳಿನ ಕಾಳಿ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ವೇಳೆ, ನಟ ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ತೇಜ್ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ, ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರಿಗೆ ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಕಥೆ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ, ಆರಂಭದಲ್ಲೇ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರು, ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರ ಜೊತೆ ಜಗಳ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೆ. ಆಮೇಲೆ ಮಿಸ್ ಅಂಡರ್ ಸ್ಟಾಂಡಿಂಗ್ ಸರಿ ಹೋಯ್ತು. ಆದರೆ, ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮುಗಿಯುವ ಹೊತ್ತಿಗೆ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಸುಸೂತ್ರವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿತ್ತು ಅಂಥಾರೆ ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್. ಸ್ಟ್ರೈಕರ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಭಾರಿ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಸ್ಟ್ರೈಕರ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕಥೆಯೇ ಅಂಥದ್ದು. ಹೀರೋಗೆ ಕನಸು ಬೀಳುತ್ತೆ. ಅದು ಮಾರನೇ ದಿನ ನಿಜವಾಗುತ್ತೆ. ಅದು ಅವನಿಗಿರುವ ಕಾಯಿಲೆ. ಕನಸಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದ ಘಟನೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ನಿಜ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡು, ಮುಖವಾಡ ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಓಡಾಡುವವನ ಕಣ್ಣೆದುರು ಒಂದು ಘಟನೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತೆ. ಅದು ಕನಸಾ..? ನಿಜಾನಾ..? ನೋಡಿದ್ದು ಸುಳ್ಳಾ..? ನಡೆದದ್ದು ಸುಳ್ಳಾ..? ಇಡೀ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಥ್ರಿಲ್ಲಿಂಗ್ ವೇಗ ಸಿಗುವುದೇ ಅಲ್ಲಿ..

ಹೀಗೆ ಕಥೆಯ ಎಳೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿಯೇ ಕುತೂಹಲ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ತೇಜ್. ಇದು ಸ್ಟೈಕರ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕಥಾ ಹಂದರ. ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಾಯಕಿ. ಭಜರಂಗಿ ಲೋಕಿ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನ್ಸ್‍ಪೆಕ್ಟರ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇದೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ಅವರು ವಿಲನ್ ಆಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಾಸ್ಯನಟ ಧರ್ಮಣ್ಣ ಅವರಿಗೂ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಪಾತ್ರವಿದೆ. ಕಥೆ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ತ್ರಿವಿಕ್ರಮ್, ನೈಜ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರಂತೆ.

ಇದೇ ವಾರ ತೆರೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಸ್ಟ್ರೈಕರ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಾಯಕಿ ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್. ಮುಂಗಾರು ಮಳೆ 2 ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದ ಈ ಚೆಲುವೆ, ನಂತರ ಮುಗುಳುನಗೆಯಲ್ಲೂ ಗಮನ ಸೆಳೆದಿದ್ದರು. ಈಗ ಸ್ಟ್ರೈಕರ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಾಯಕಿ.

ಸ್ಟ್ರೈಕರ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ಅನಾಥ ಹುಡುಗಿ. ಆಕೆಗೆ ಅವಳ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತೆಯರೇ ಗಂಡು ಹುಡುಕಿ ಮದುವೆ ಮಾಡ್ತಾರೆ. ಮದುವೆಯಾಗೋದು ತಾನು ಬದುಕುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲೋ.. ವಾಸ್ತವದಲ್ಲೋ ಎಂದು ತಿಳಿಯದೆ ಒದ್ದಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಪ್ರವೀಣ್ ತೇಜ್ ಜೊತೆ. ಸೈಕಲಾಜಿಕಲ್ ಥ್ರಿಲ್ಲರ್ ಜಾನರ್ ಇಷ್ಟವಾಯ್ತು ಎನ್ನುವ ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ಮಂಜುನಾಥ್, ಕ್ರೀಡಾಪಟುವೂ ಹೌದು.

ಇಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲ ಆಗಿ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸೋಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆ ಮುಖ್ಯನಾ..? ಸೌಂದರ್ಯ ಮುಖ್ಯಾನಾ..? ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯನ್ನು ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ ಮುಂದಿಟ್ಟರೆ ಅವರು ಮೊದಲ ರ್ಯಾಂಕ್ ಕೊಡೋದು ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಗೆ. ನಾನು ನಂಬಿರೋದು ಕೂಡಾ ಪ್ರತಿಭೆಯನ್ನೇ ಎನ್ನುವ ಶಿಲ್ಪಾ, ಸ್ಟ್ರೈಕರ್ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೇಲೆ ಭರವಸೆ ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪವನ್ ತ್ರಿವಿಕ್ರಮ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಸ್ಟ್ರೈಕರ್ ರಿಲೀಸ್ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕತೆಯೇ ವಿಚಿತ್ರ. ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ನೋಡಿ.. ಹೀರೋ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣೋದನ್ನು ವಾಸ್ತವ ಎಂದುಕೊಳ್ತಾನೆ. ವಾಸ್ತವದಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆಯೋದನ್ನು ಕನಸು ಎಂದುಕೊಳ್ತಾನೆ. ನಿದ್ದೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ನಿಜವಾಗಿಯೂ ಎದ್ದಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಮೂತ್ರ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಹುಡುಗನ ಆ ದೃಶ್ಯವೇ ಇಡೀ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕಥೆಯ ವಿಭಿನ್ನತೆಯ ಪರಿಚಯ ಮಾಡಿಸುತ್ತೆ.

ಇಷ್ಟಕ್ಕೂ ಇಂಥಾದ್ದೊಂದು ಕಥೆ ಹೊಳೆದಿದ್ದು ಹೇಗೆ..? ಸ್ಫೂರ್ತಿ ಏನು.? ಎಂದರೆ ಪವನ್ ತ್ರಿವಿಕ್ರಮ್ ಹೇಳೋದು ಹೀಗೆ. ``ನಿರ್ದೇಶನ ಮಾಡಬೆಕು ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡಾಗ ರೊಮ್ಯಾಂಟಿಕ್ ಲವ್ ಸ್ಟೋರಿ ಮಾಡೋಕೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಾಗಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆ್ಯಕ್ಷನ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡೋಣವೆಂದುಕಂಡರೆ, ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಬೇಕಾದಷ್ಟು ಬಜೆಟ್ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಕ್ರೈಂ ಥ್ರಿಲ್ಲರ್ ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡೆ. ಈ ಕಥೆ ಯಾವ ಕ್ಷಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಳೆಯಿತು ಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲ. ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೋದಂತೆ, ಅದ್ಭುತ ಸ್ಕ್ರಿಪ್ಟ್ ಆಯ್ತು'' ಅಂಥಾರೆ ಪವನ್.
