It's a perfect festival gift for Kannada film industry, as it bagged a record 13 awards at the 66th National Film Awards. While 10 film awards is for feature films category and two are for non-feature category. Also, Mookajjiya Kanasugalu has been selected for National Film Archive of India.

Naticharamni directed by Manjunatha Somashekara Reddy (ManSoRe), which dealt with a sensitive subject revolving around a widow has bagged five awards including a special mention of the actress Sruthi Hariharan who portrayed the role of Gowri.

That apart, Prashanth Neel's KGF starring Rocking Star Yash has bagged two awards for best action and special effects. It shares the special effect with Telugu psychological thriller Awe.

Whereas, Sarkari. Hi. Pra. Shale Kasaragodu, Koduge Ramanna Rai is adjudged as Best Children's Film and best child artiste artiste P V Rohit for Ondalla Eradall

 The Nargis Dutt Award for Best Feature Film on National Integration goes to Kannada film Ondalla Eradalla.

Actor-director Sudeep on Saturday evening released the songs of  'Sarkari Hiriya Prarthamika Shaale' along with Ananth Nag, K Kalyan and others.

Two video songs of 'Sarkari Hiriya Prarthamika Shaale' have been already released in Youtube and both the songs have created sensation. Now the audio songs of the film have been released. There are nine songs in the film and Vasuki Vaibhav has composed the songs of the film.

'Sarkari Hiriya Prarthamika Shaale, Kasaragod - Koduge Ramanna Rai' stars Ananth Nag, Pramod Shetty and others in prominent roles. The film is being written and directed by Rishabh Shetty and the film is ready to hit the screens in the month of August.

Two most anticipated children films including 'Ondalla Eradalla' and 'Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale' are all set to be released on the Varamahalakshmi festival day (August 24).

'Ondalla Eradalla' is being written and directed by Satyaprakash who directed 'Rama Rama Re'. This is his second film and has been produced by Umapathi who had earlier produced Sudeep's 'Hebbuli'. Vasuki Vaibhav is the music director.

Rishab Shetty who had directed 'Kirik Party' is back with 'Sarkari Hiriya Prathamika Shaale' and the film will be releasing along with 'Ondalla Eradalla' on the 24th of August.The film stars Ananth Nag, Pramod Shetty and others in prominent roles. Rishab himself has produced the film, apart from scripting and directing the film,
