  • Booze party at Kanteerava Studios - Exclusive

Booze party image during lost bus audio release

For generations of Kannada actors and technicians, Sri Kanteerava Studios in Bengaluru has been a revered place of worship and not just a work place. Even when there was no shooting late legends like Rajkumar, Vishnuvardhan, Narasimharaju and many others would visit it to pay respects to the Muneshwara shrine there.

Last year the then chairman Rudresh managed to get constructed a new floor in the studio. Dharmasthala head Veerendra Hegde gave the name Manjusha (golden place) to the floor.

In this place today on Friday evening a drinks party has been organised. Unfortunately it is a film team which is doing it. The film team of Last Bus has organised this party as part of promotion of their film. The sad part is the film is made by the grandchildren of Sandalwood legend Narasimharaju.

Forget that the studio is a government property where such booze parties are not allowed. The fact that such a studio held in high esteem by all film personalities is being used for such a party defies logic. And few film personalities themselves are part of this party. There are few places where sanctity is left and if the film folks themselves break it, there cannot be a bigger tragedy for Kannada film industry.

    Update at 11.00PM

Speaking to Chitraloka Kanteerava Studio Shankarappa told `It has come to my notice when our guards had informed me around 10.15 PM some press persons started taking photos of serving liquor and we have closed the entrance. They have take the time tille 11 PM for the function. Tomorrow morning we are issuing a notice to the producer and will wait for the explanation within three days otherwise we are going to take action.

Will a lot more films in the pipeline new releases are struggling for theatres. The existing 4 films will continue in all the main centres and therefore the new 4 films next week will not get main theatres either in Bengaluru or other district centres distributors say.
