ಅಮೃತಮತಿಯ ಕಥೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಅದು ಗೊತ್ತಿದ್ದೇ ಇರುತ್ತೆ. ಸುಂದರ ರಾಜ ಗಂಡನಾಗಿದ್ದರೂ, ಅಷ್ಟಾವಂಕನ ಜೊತೆ ಅಕ್ರಮ ಸಂಬಂಧ ಬೆಳೆಸುವ ಅಮೃತಮತಿ, ಅದು ತನ್ನ ಪತಿ ಮತ್ತು ಮನೆಯವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಿತು ಎಂದು ಗೊತ್ತಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ವಿಷವಿಟ್ಟು ಕೊಂದುಬಿಡುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಅದೇ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಿರುವ ಬರಗೂರು, ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಬದಲಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಅದು ಹೆಣ್ಣಿನ ಘನತೆ ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವಂತಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುವ ಬರಗೂರು, ಯಶೋಧರ ಚರಿತೆಯ ಅಮೃತಮತಿಗೆ ಈ ಸಿನಿಮಾದಲ್ಲಿ ಮರುಹುಟ್ಟು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಬರಗೂರು ರಾಮಚಂದ್ರಪ್ಪ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಹರಿಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಅವರ ನಟನೆ ಅದೆಷ್ಟು ಇಷ್ಟವಾಗಿದೆ ಎಂದರೆ, ಹರಿಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಇದ್ದಿದ್ದರೆ, ಹರಿಪ್ರಿಯಾರಂತೆಯೇ ಇರುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು ಎನ್ನುವಷ್ಟು.

Writer-director Baraguru Ramachandrappa's latest 'Amruthamathi' starring Kishore, Hariprriya and others in the lead has been officially selected for screening during the 4th Indian World Film Festival, which is scheduled to be held in Noida.

The film is also selected for competition at the festival under three categories - best picture, best director and best actress in a leading role. The period film is based on Yashodhara Charite, a popular work from Mahakavi Janna. 

Hariprriya plays the protagonist's role of Amruthamathi, a wife of Yuavaraja Yashodhara who falls in love with Ashtaavanka, who tends to the horses in the palace.

According to the makers, Amruthamathi revolves around the wife of yuvaraja yashodhara, Amruthamathi, who  is unhappy with the royal lifestyle. "One day she accidentally hears a song sung by a servant Astaavanka, who tends to the horses. She falls in love with him. The story will be from the point of view of the queen, webbed around the conflict of values in the mind of Amruthamathi."

Well known director Baragur Ramachandrappa has silently completed yet another film called 'Mookhanayaka'. The film has been censored with an 'U' certificate and is waiting for release.

This time also, Baraguru Ramachandrappa has given a social message through this film. The film is about a deaf and dumb artiste and Baraguru himself has written the story, screenplay, dialogues and lyrics for the film.

'Mookhanayaka' stars Kumar Govind in the lead role apart from Rekha, Sheetal Shetty, Sundarraj and others. Dr Shamitha Malnad is the music director, while Nagaraj Advani is the cameraman.

Well known writer and director Dr Baraguru Ramachandrappa who has been selected as the president of the 82nd Kannada Sahitya Sammelana to be held in Raichur in the month of December was honoured by the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce on Monday afternoon.

Speaking during the occasion, 'I normally hesitate from these kind of functions. But when Sa Ra Govindu on behalf of the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce called me for honouring, I obliged because I share a special relation with the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce and that's why I am here' said Dr Baraguru Ramachandrappa.

'I have been watching Dr Rajakumar's and Akkineni Nageshwara Rao's films from a very young age and they are inspiration for me. That's why I decided to direct films with good content' said Dr Baraguru Ramachandrappa.

KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu, ex-presidents K V Chandrashekhar, Thomas D'Souza, secretary M G Ramamurthy and others were present during the occasion.

The pretty and talented actress Hariprriya who is basking upon the success of Bell Bottom, had signed another exciting project which dates back to the 13th century. The period film is based on Yashodhara Charite, a popular works of Mahakavi Janna. Titled 'Amruthamathi', it will be directed by writer and filmmaker Baraguru Ramachandrappa.

"This is my 12th year in the industry and my constant effort is to do roles which are distinctive from each other. I try my best to not bore the audience seeing in similar roles and hence, it is my conscious act to strike a balance between commercial and experimental films, which has more weightage to performances than the glamorous ones" says Hariprriya.

Bell Bottom dates back to the 80s while Bicchu Gatti is a historical one and Kurukshetra wherein Hariprriya plays the role of Maya featuring in a special song alongside Darshan is a mythological venture, and now Amruthamathi is going to be a period drama dating back to 13the century.

The look test for the queen Amruthamathi was recently done and the actress shares that it went real well following which the film is scheduled to go on the floors from this month end.

The actress who was on a month long vacation to Bali and other places, returns to work with the shooting for Jayanna-Bhogendra produced film, a remake of Tamil hit film Kappal in which she is started opposite to Gurunandan of First Rank Raju fame. The yet-to-be titled film is being directed by Vijay Kiran. Her other two films Ellidde Illitanaka and Kannad Gottilla is scheduled for release in the month of October.

The pretty damsel Hariprriya who is busy with multiple projects has dubbed for her upcoming venture 'Amruthamathi', in just a day's time!

Sharing her dubbing experience with Chitraloka, the actress said that it was a great learning experience while working for yet another exciting project. "And, dubbing for it in just a day's time gave me greater satisfaction, which boosts my confidence to attempt challenging tasks as an artist," she says.

After the success of Ellidde Illi Tanaka, Hariprriya is soon to return with Kannad Gotilla and then in Rishab Shetty's brainchild 'Katha Sangama', which is made in dedication to legendary Kannada filmmaker Puttanna Kanagal. Thereafter, she has Bicchugatti, and one more commercial entertainer alongside First Rank Raju fame Gurunandan.

Amruthamathi is being directed by renowned writer Baraguru Ramachandra.

The revised volumes of Kannada Chalanachitra Ithisa will be released on October 10. The original book was banned after objections about some distorted contents. After so many years, attempts were made a few years ago when Jayamala was the president of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to revise the volume by correcting the mistakes. It has finally come to fruit in the final month of the tenure of president Thomas D'souza.

Information minister Roshan Baig will release the book. Vice Chancellor of Hampi Kannada University Mallika Ghanti will also be present along with other dignitaries. The University was involved in the preparation of the history book. The revised version was done under the supervision of writer and film maker Baraguru Ramachandrappa.

Baraguru Ramachandrappa's new film 'Marana Dandane' which is based on his story has been selected for the 10th Habitat Film Festival to be held in New Delhi from 08th to 17th May.

One of the major highlights of this festival is a retrospective of Dr Kamal Hassan. This year 19 National Award winning Films and 48 Films in 13 Languages will be screened at this festival. Only 'Marana Dandane' from Kannada has been selected to be screened at this festival. The film is scheduled to be screened on the 09th of May.

Actress Jayamma and theater artiste Jayakumar who have put in over four decades of service received the 08th annual S P Varadaraju awards in Bangalore. Friends of S P Varadaraju headed by writer-director Dr Baragur Ramachandrappa have been giving awards to well known theater artistes for the last few years and this year well known film actress Jaya fondly known as Kulli Jaya and theater artiste Jayakumar were selected for the awards.

Well known artiste Srinath came over as the chief guest and gave away the awards. 'Crazy Star' Ravichandran, Shivarajkumar, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar and others were also present at the occasion.

ಬರಗೂರು ಈಗ ಕನ್ನಡದ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಜನ್ನನ ಯಶೋಧರ ಚರಿತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಿನಿಮಾ ರೂಪಕ್ಕೆ ತರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿನ ನಾಯಕಿ ಅಮೃತಮತಿ ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದು ಹರಿಪ್ರಿಯಾ.

ಅಮೃತಮತಿ ಒಂದು ಅಪರೂಪದ ಪಾತ್ರ. ಮಹಾರಾಜನ ಪ್ರೀತಿಯ ಪತ್ನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೂ, ಸುಖದ ಸುಪ್ಪತ್ತಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅಪರೂಪದ ಸೌಂದರ್ಯವತಿ. ಆದರೆ, ಆಕೆ ಕುರೂಪಿಯಾದ ಗೂನು ಬೆನ್ನಿನ ವಿಕೃತ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನ ಆನೆ ಕಾಯುವ ಮಾವುತನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇಮಿಸುತ್ತಾಳೆ. ಕೊನೆಗೆ ಪತಿಯನ್ನೇ ಕೊಲ್ಲುವ ಪಾತ್ರ ಅಮೃತಮತಿಯದ್ದು. ಈ ಸಂಕೀರ್ಣ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವ ಹೊಣೆ ಹರಿಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಹೆಗಲೇರಿದೆ.

ಜೈನ ಧರ್ಮದ ಪ್ರಚಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿಯೇ 13ನೇ ಶತಮಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಜನ್ನ ಬರೆದಿದ್ದ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಯಶೋಧರ ಚರಿತೆ. ಅದರ ಹೊರತಾಗಿಯೂ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಕಾವ್ಯ ಸೃಷ್ಟಿ ಹೊಂದಿರುವ ಯಶೋಧರ ಚರಿತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಿನಿಮಾ ರೂಪಕ್ಕಿಳಿಸುವುದು ಸುಲಭದ ಮಾತೇನಲ್ಲ. ಆ ಸಾಹಸಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಗೂರು ಕೈ ಹಾಕಿದ್ದರೆ, ಅತಿ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುವ ಸವಾಲನ್ನು ಹರಿಪ್ರಿಯಾ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.
