Art-director, director and a multi-talented Sandalwood personality Arun Sagar has acted in a Tamil film. His debut Tamil film is Sandamarutham in which he plays the villain opposite Sarath Kumar. In a surprising development Sandamarutham is releasing on February 20, the same day as his Kannada film Benkiponta in which he plays a pivotal role.

Arun Sagar plays the character of Selvan in the film which is a home production of Sarath Kumar. Sarath Kumar has also written the story for the film. Another Kannada actor Avinash also plays an important role in the film.

Well known Art director and actor Arun Sagar's godown has been destroyed in a fire accident. Complete works and materials worth nearly Rs 70 laks has been gutted in the fire. Arun Sagar had his godown near Uttarahalli in Bengaluru and he had stored all his equipments releated to his movie art works, sculptors and other materials in the godown.

Speaking to Chitraloka.com Arun Sagar said "On the evening of February 15 when I was travelling near Nelamangala I received a call saying that my property had caught fire. I immediately informed the police and fire station and went to the spot. Even though the fire tenders responded immediately, they could not reach the spot as the connecting roads are in bad shape. By the time they reached the godown nearly 70 percent of the property was damaged. Thanks to the fire department we atleast managed to save about 30 percent of my work. We still don't know how this fire incident happened. On that day my security person was also not there. I don't have any enemies and I don't want to blame anybody. I have lost major works which I had kept ready for my commitments towards upcoming projects."

Arun Sagar is designing a special set for a song for Sudeep's new film Kotigobba2. This will be the last portion of shooting for the film. With this song, shooting for the film will conclude. The set is likely to come up at Innovative Film City, off Mysore Road and shooting is likely to start next week. With this the plans of Kotigobba2 becoming the first Kannada film to shoot in Japan is no longer true.

Two songs of the film were supposed to be shot in Japan but the plan was shelved after much discussion, sources said. Instead both songs were decided to be shot in Bengaluru itself. Meanwhile there is a break for the film with director Ravikumar's daughter getting married on Monday. Sudeep and other cast and crew members attended the reception on Sunday evening too. 

Actor Jaggesh sung a folk song called Danakayonu. The music is composed by Sagar Gururaj, the son of veteran singers Manjula and Gururaj. The song is based on folk theme and the first line is "Surya badalagawne, Chandra badalagawane, manasaane badalagi parapancha kedasawne."

The technical work on the song is still underway and will be ready in a couple of days. Jaggesh has sung songs in his films and this is his first for a music album.

Another good Kannada movie has released today. Ring Master with Arun Sagar in the lead role is a special film for its different kind of narration and content. This is the first film in Kannada where a drug supplier is the protagonist! But the film has equal roles for four characters. Along with Arun Sagar, Anushree and Shwetha also excel in their roles.

The film takes a bold approach with regards to the story. Except for a couple of scenes, the entire film takes place inside an apartment. There are only four main characters. 

Three youngsters call a drug supplier to buy ganja. They are having a new year party at home. The drug supplier arrives and joins them in the party. He regales them with strange stories and peppy talk. After sometime the three youngsters realise that he is becoming a burden and may be dangerous. When they try to send him away after paying for the drugs, he turns against them. The three become hostage in their own apartment. The intention of the drug dealer seems to be to kill them. But what is their mistake? Why is he after them? Will they survive the new year party alive? For that you have to watch the film which is very scary entertainment. The film also has an A certificate because of the violence.

The film is also very strong on it a technical front. It is not easy to shoot a film entirely inside a flat. This is overcome by placing the camera in strange places. The camera man has done a fabulous job. The editing is sharp and keeps the pace of the film very swift. The background music is another hero. Ring Master is a very encouraging sign for Kannada films and if you are okay with some violence you should not miss it.

Arun Sagar's new film 'Ring Master' is all set to release on the 09th of October. The film is being directed by Vishruth Naik and produced by A J Manjunath, Narasimhamurthy, Basavaraj and Sathyanarayana.

`Ring Master' was launched earlier this year and the film was titled as 'Bhangiranga'. However, the team changed the title to 'Ring Master' as the new title is more justified for the film's story.

While Arun Sagar is seen in the title role, anchor Anushree who was also a co-participant in the first season of 'Big Boss' along with Arun Sagar is playing a prominent role along with Shrunga and Shwetha. Ravi Basrur who composed music for Murali's 'Ugram' is composing the music for this film, while Cinetech Soori is the cameraman.

Actor-director Ravichandran on Thursday night released the songs of Arun Sagar starrer 'Ringmaster' amidst much fanfare at the Bangalore International Hotel. Speaking after the launch, 'I have stopped coming to such functions off late. The reason I came here today is simply because of love and friendship. Based on seeing the songs and trailer, I can say that this will become a good film. Don't delay the release of the film' said Ravichandran.

Arun Sagar, Anushree, Shrunga, director Vishruth Nayak, producers Silk Manju, Basavaraj, Satyanarayan, music director Ravi Basrur and others were present at the occasion. The songs have been released through Anand Audio.
