Lyricist turned dialogue writer Kaviraj is all set to turn director with a new film. The film will be produced by Darshan's brother Dinakar under the Thoogudeepa Productions. Though not much details about the film has been divulged, sources say Dinakar who was supposed to direct Darshan's 50th film 'Sarvantharyami' will be producing a film for Kaviraj.

The film will be launched soon and after the release, Dinakar plans to start 'Sarvantharyami'.

Actor Suraj Gowda who made his debut with 'Kahi' has been selected as the hero of Kaviraj's directorial debut 'Maduveya Mamatheya Kareyole'. Suraj will be the hero opposite Amulya in this film to be produced by Thoogudeepa Productions.

Earlier, Kaviraj had announced 'Maduveya Mamatheya Kareyole' with Amulya in a prominent role and was looking for a suitable hero for the film. Kaviraj had even held an audition on March 01st and 02nd at the Chethan International Hotel in Gandinagar.

Sources say, thousands of youths had come for the audition out of with a few hundreds were shortlisted. A total of three rounds were held in the audition and out of the shortlisters, Suraj Gowda from Mysore has been selected as the hero by Kaviraj and producer Dinakar Thoogudeepa.

The film is all set to be launched soon.

The 'Maduveya Mamateya Kareyole' team on Saturday met Information Minister Roshan Baig and gave a memorandum about Kannada problems facing problems in multiplexes in Karnataka. Recently the screening of 'Maduveya Mamateya Kareyole' in PVR Multiplex in the Orion Mall was cancelled due to various reasons.

The team of 'MMK' including Dinakar Thoogudeepa and director Kaviraj had filed a complaint against the multiplex.

On Saturday KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu, Kaviraj, Dinakar and others met Information Minister Roshan Baig and gave a memorandum about the plight of Kannada films in multiplexes and the team urged the minister to frame rules like what Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra Governments have done to protect the regional cinema. Baig has said that he will look into the matter and would try to resolve it soon.

ಖ್ಯಾತ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಸಾಹಿತಿ ಕವಿರಾಜ್ ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ನಿಧನರಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಸಮಾಜವಾದಿ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದ ಹರಿಯಪ್ಪ ನಾಯ್ಕ  ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳಿಂದ ಕ್ಯಾನ್ಸರ್ನಿಂದ ಬಳಲುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಹರಿಯಪ್ಪ ಅವರಿಗೆ 65 ವರ್ಷ ವಯಸ್ಸಾಗಿತ್ತು.

ಬಂಗಾರಪ್ಪ ಅವರ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಹರಿಯಪ್ಪ ನಾಯ್ಕ, ಸಮಾಜವಾದಿ ಹೋರಾಟಗಾರರಾಗಿ ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಪತ್ನಿ, ಪುತ್ರ, ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುತ್ರಿಯರು ಹಾಗೂ ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರು ಅಗಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಂಡಗದ್ದೆ ಬಳಿಯ ಇರುವತ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂತಿಮ ದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ವ್ಯವಸ್ಥೆ ಮಾಡಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಈ ದಿನವೇ ಅಂತ್ಯ ಸಂಸ್ಕಾರ ನೆರವೇರಲಿದೆ.
