A total of six films including the re-release of Tarka will be the Kannada films this week. The new films releasing this week include Chowka, Style Raja, Jalsa, Bannada Neralu and Hai. Among all the new films Chowka is the biggest film in terms of cast and budget.

It also has popular stars in the film. The sudden spurt in the number of films is to do with the expected release of Sudeep's Hebbuli later this month. Smaller films fear that they will not get theatres after the release of the big film.

After that two more big star films like Darshan's Chakravarthy and Puneeth's Raajkumar is lined up for release. So if they do not release now, they will have to wait for a few more months. Therefore there could be more than five films releasing next week also.

Dwarkish's 50th film as a producer 'Chauka', has completed 50 days at the box-office and has become the first film in 2017 to complete 50 days.

The post production of Dwarkish's 50th film as a producer 'Chauka', is almost complete and the film is likely to release on the 03rd of February.

'Chauka' is a multi starrer film with Prem, Prajwal, Diganth and Vijay Raghavendra playing prominent roles in the film. Aindritha Ray and Deepa Sannidhi, Priyamani and Bhavana Menon are playing the female leads. While, Darshan is seen in a guest role, Puneeth Rajakumar has sung a song for this film.

Dwarkish's 50th Film is Chauka

One complaint against this Friday's big release Chowka is its length. The film is 2 hours and 48 minutes long. This has created some problems in theatres, especially for the second shows at night. In one theater in Bengaluru the late night show that was to start at 10 pm started at 10.45 pm because the three earlier shows had taken up much time. The show ended at 1.45 am causing inconvenience to audience.

This has prompted the film team to consider trimming the film by some 20 minutes. But cutting any scene without affecting the flow of the film was not possible. Therefore it has been decided to cut a fight scene involving Vijay Raghavendra and Prajwal Devaraj.

This is around 3-4 minutes. Also the title card which is 3.5 minutes long will be chopped. A few other such inconsequential scenes will be cut so that the film's length is reduced to 2 hours 30 minutes according to sources.

The film's Saturday collections have improved from Friday. Friday occupancy overall was 60 % which increased to 70% on Saturday and on Sunday it was 80%.

Tharun Sudhir's debut as director and Dwarakish Chitra's 50th film is a film that will leave a lasting experience. The multistarrer film that has a great supporting cast has a unique story that combines entertainment and a message for the youth about their contribution to the society. 

Four youngsters from four different eras end up in jail for no mistake of theirs. However they reconcile to their fate until they meet an old man in jail who is also wrongly jailed. He inspires them to not waste anymore of their lives. Do these four men manage to do the impossible is the rest of the story. 

Tharun has given equal  importance to the four stars, Vijay Raghavendra, Prem, Diganth and Prajwal Devaraj. There is also important roles for Kashinath and Chikkanna. 

There are beautiful elements in the film. The songs are top class. The four main actors give brilliant performances. Senior actor Kashinath is seen in a role that is unique. He steals the heart with his portrayal of a father who tries to undo the wrong foisted on him. 

The film gives a rich experience and is a visual treat. The makers have managed to show some places like Gol Gumbaz and Suvarna Vidhana Soudha like never before. Every actor in the film is given importance and nothing is out of place. However the film is long at nearly three hours and this is because all characters are given their due. 

There is a message for the youth in the end. It is a mass film with a message.

The final technical corrections on the film Chowka was completed today and the film is ready for uploading for satellite telecast to theatres. The film is releasing this week and is one of the biggest multistarrer films made in Kannada.

The film has four heroes and four heroines including Vijay Raghavendra, Prajwal Devaraj, Nenapirali Prem, Diganth, Aindrita Ray, Deepa Sannidhi, Bhavana and Priyamani. Director Tharun Sudhir gave the finishing touches to the film at a studio in Bengaluru on Monday.

Chowka Trailer This Week

The trailer of the multistarrer film Chowka will be released either on Thursday or Friday this week. The shooting for the film was completed recently and the film is gearing up for release shortly. The trailer is planned to release just in time for Sankranti.

Chowka is the 50th film of Dwarakish Chitra and produced by Yogish. The film stars Nenapirali Prem, Prajwal Devaraj, Vijay Raghavendra, Diganth, Priyamani, Aindrita Ray, Deepa Sannidhi and Bhavana. Darshan has also acted in a guest role in the film.

Chowka is directed by Tharun Sudheer in his debut as director. He is giving final touches to the trailer. The first look and characters of the film were introduced earlier. The four main actors are from different decades whose stories meet in the end. The film is the biggest multistarrer in Kannada in decades.

The costliest shooting in Kannada films has been completed. Shooting just 24 seconds for the film Chauka cost Rs 34 Lakhs excluding remuneration and other daily costs. It took three days to shoot the 24 seconds.

For the first time in Sandalwood bullet time scene has been shot and Darshan has become the first Kannada actor to be part of such scene. 50 cameras from Singapore and other equipment from Mumbai was used

for the shooting. It was an action scene. The film is directed by Tharun Sudhir and produced by Yogish under the Dwarakish Chitra banner. The 50th film of Dwarakishchitra is also a multistarrer with Diganth, Nenapirali Prem, Prajwal Devaraj and Vijaya Raghavendra. Darshan plays a crucial role in the film. The cost of the 50 cameras used for the shooting was Rs 8 Lakhs per day. The payment for the over a dozen crew who handled them was separate.

Dwarkish's 50th film 'Chauka' has another attraction to it. After Darshan acting in a cameo in the film, now it's the turn of Puneeth Rajakumar to make his presence in the film. Puneeth has sung a song for the film on Wednesday.

It's been nearly 40 years since the Dr Rajakumar's family associated with Dwarkish's family. The last time Dr Rajakumar's family association was when he acted in 'Bhagyavantharu' 40 years back. After that the two families never worked together. Now after a 40 year gap, Dr Rajakumar's son Puneeth has sung for the film which is produced by Dwarkish's son Yogish.
