It's been nearly two days since actors Anil and Uday are missing, yet the bodies of the two actors have not been found. Meanwhile, producer Sundar Gowda who was absconding has been arrested on Tuesday night and has been sent to Ramanagar jail.

The climax shooting for 'Mastigudi' was held at Thippagondanahalli lake on Monday. There was a scene when Vijay, Uday and Anil jump from an helicopter to the lake. Anil and Uday jumped together from the helicopter, while Vijay jumped after them. However, Uday and Anil went missing in the water and the bodies are yet to be found. Though the search parties are searching for the bodies, nothing has been confirmed yet.

Meanwhile, producer Sundar Gowda, director Nagashekhar and stunt choreographer Ravi Verma were said to be absconding after the police started looking for the three. However, producer Sundar Gowda has been arrested on Tuesday night and has been setnt to Ramanagar jail for 14 days judicial custody.

Just a day after actor Uday's body was found, another actor Anil's body has been found in Thippagondanahalli lake on Thursday morning.

The climax shooting for 'Mastigudi' was held at Thippagondanahalli lake on Monday. There was a scene when Vijay, Uday and Anil jump from an helicopter to the lake. Anil and Uday jumped together from the helicopter, while Vijay jumped after them. However, Uday and Anil went missing in the water and the bodies were not to be found even after two days.

Now both the bodies have been found and will be cremated on Thursday at the Banashankari burial ground.

The 'John Jaani Janardhan' team has donated Rs 25,000 each to the families of actors Anil and Uday who died recently after drowning during the shooting of 'Mastigudi' at the Tippagondanahalli lake near Bangalore.

Ajay Rao, Yogi and Krishna starrer 'John Jaani Janardhan' which is an official remake of Malayalam hit 'Amar Akbar Antony' which was supposed to release 11th of November was postponed due to various reasons and now the film will be releasing on the 09th of December. The film will be distributed through Jayanna Films.

Masthigudi is a film on the need for wildlife conservation. But like any commercial film it brings in various other elements such as action, romance and drama to cater to the needs of fans and the common audience. It is one of those rare films which has wildlife conservation as its backdrop. In that regard it reminds you of films like Gandhadagudi, Jayasimha and Mrugalaya. 

Here the plot is about a gang of poachers out to destroy the tigers in Nagarahole. Maasti a tribal forest guard is all that stands between the tigers and the poachers. He manages to use his skill and intelligence to keep away the poachers. But the bad men are coming back with a bigger force. Can Maasti stand up to them is the question.

Duniya Vijay as the tribal forest gurard is also the guardian of the villagers. He is seen in three different getups. First as a lover boy. Second as a brooding man and third as an old man with the fire still inside him. He is a brilliant performer. 

Amulya plays the lover of Maasti. But what happened to her is a mystery. It is shown late. Even in her physical absence her character is important in the film. Kriti Kharbanda is the range forest officer's daughter and returns from London to live with him. Her character is pretty straight forward.

There is a complex story in the film. At one level it is about the tribals and their beliefs about the ghosts and tigers that they share the forest with. They also have a goddess who has to be satiated. Then there is the forest department in which Maasti also works. They have their task cut down. But they do not believe in many things of the tribals. There are bad elements in the department too. Then there are some tribals and villains from outside who are out destroy the wildlife for their personal wealth. There are also two love stories in the film. 

So it is pretty much an intense film. Uday and Anil the two actors who died during the shooting of the film are mostly in the second half of the film. They are the enemy Maasti is fighting without knowing who they are. Most of their scenes are in action. It is a big loss and to see them on the screen makes for a strange feeling. The shots that were taken just before they died are also part of the film. It is just a few seconds long and makes for a disturbing watch. 

Overall the film has both a message as well as a commercial formula to it. It is not the regular kind of film. The creation of wild animals especially the leopard catching incident and two tiger incidents are done beautifully. You can watch the film just for the animals.

After director Nagashekar and stunt master Ravi Verma, one more accused in the deaths of actors Uday and Anil, unit manager Bharat Rao has been given bail by the High Court. He was also in jail for over a month now.

In the statement given to the court, Bharat Rao has said that his duty was to supply food and other essentials for the shooting and he had nothing to do with the shooting of scenes or stunts directly.

The High Court of Karnataka has quashed the homicide charge sheet against director Nagashekar, producer Sundar Gowda and stunt master Ravi Verma. The police had filed a charge sheet in which they were charged under culpable homicide not amounting to murder which carries a punishment of a maximum of 10 years imprisonment.

However the high court has said that the death of the two actors, Uday and Anil was not homicide but death due to negligence. It has directed the lower court in Ramanagara to get the investigation done under the charge of negligence death. This charge carries a maximum sentence of two years imprisonment. 

The High court has quashed the charge sheet and asked the police to file a fresh charge sheet in the case. The high court however has said no to quashing the FIR in the case. That means the the case will continue but with a charge that is milder in comparison.

Rajya Sabha Member of Parliament, Rajeev Chandrashekar is donating Rs 2 lakh each to the families of actors Anil and Uday who died in a tragic shooting accident recently. The MP, who is well-known for his social concern, is donating the money in his personal capacity. 

Sources said that he will give the money to the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce to be handed over to the actors' families. 

The two actors met their watery grave at the Thippagondanahalli lake while shooting an action scene for the film Mastigudi. Actor Duniya Vijay survived in the incident that has shaken the entire film industry. 

Rajeev Chandrashekar does not have much connection with the Kannada film industry. But responding as a responsible citizen he has tried to assuage the pain of the families a bit. After he heard about the tragedy he personally got in touch with the KFCC and wanted to know how he could be of help. That is how this came about. 

Actor Puneeth Rajakumar, Ravishankar, Aniruddh, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and others paid their last respects Uday who died on Monday. After that Uday was cremated at the Banashankari burial grounds.

The climax shooting for 'Mastigudi' was held at Thippagondanahalli lake on Monday and actors Uday and Anil died after jumping to the lake from the helicopter. The bodies were missing and finally Uday's body was found on Wednesday. The body was brought to Uday's house in Yediyur after the post-mortem was done.

On Thursday morning, many artistes and technicians including Puneeth Rajakumar paid their last respects to the actor, after which the body was taken in a procession and buried at the burial grounds in Banashankari.

Member of parliament Rajeev Chandrashekar has given 5 lacs each to anil and uday family who was dead during Mastigudi shooting. Rajeev chandrashekar was supposed to come to kfcc to give the cheques to them. 

Since the flight could not take off from Delhi due to bad weather Ambareesh gave the cheques. On behalf of rajeev chandrashekar Mr sanjay prabhu was present. 

JHON JHONNY janardhan producer Padu gowda gave Ra 25,000/- each to anil and uday family. 

Kfcc president SA Ra govindu and Ambareesh praised Rajeev chandrashekar for coming forward to help and told they are all joining together and will give big amount to their family very soon. For the first time Ambareesh requested media to give more coverage to this function. 

Stunt master Ravi Verma has told the Karnataka High Court that he was not the one who directed the helicopter stunt sequence that resulted in the deaths of actors Anil and Uday. He got bail from the high court on December 15.

In the order copy the court has recorded the submission made by his advocate which says, "Learned counsel for the 2nd petitioner submits that the 2nd petitioner is a stunt Director. A stunt Director will direct the stunt scenes only. In the present case, jump of the stunt actors from the Helicopter to the water was not at his direction. It is sheer accidental death. The stunt actors who are majors had consented to jump from the Helicopter, but after fall, could not swim. Enough arrangement was made to meet the casualty. Unfortunately, the boat which was kept ready at the spot did not start and the swimmers could not reach the deceased persons in time, though they were able to rescue the Hero."

Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Sa Ra Govindu on Monday evening handed over cheques to the families of Anil and Uday who died during the shooting of Mastigudi in November. Bangalore DC Shankar was also present at the occasion.

After the sad demise of Anil and Uday, Govindu had met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and had requested for help. The Chief Minister immediately approved to sanction five lakhs each to the families of Anil and Uday. Likewise the cheques were handed over on Monday afternoon. Uday's parents and Anil's brother and mother was present at the occasion.

KFCC vice-president Umesh Banakar, secretary M G Ramamurthy and others were also present at the occasion.
