Arun Sagar is designing a special set for a song for Sudeep's new film Kotigobba2. This will be the last portion of shooting for the film. With this song, shooting for the film will conclude. The set is likely to come up at Innovative Film City, off Mysore Road and shooting is likely to start next week. With this the plans of Kotigobba2 becoming the first Kannada film to shoot in Japan is no longer true.

Two songs of the film were supposed to be shot in Japan but the plan was shelved after much discussion, sources said. Instead both songs were decided to be shot in Bengaluru itself. Meanwhile there is a break for the film with director Ravikumar's daughter getting married on Monday. Sudeep and other cast and crew members attended the reception on Sunday evening too. 

Ranna, Sudeep's new release that was running successfully for the last one week is facing trouble in about 25 theatres in Bengaluru, Kolar and few other places. The morning show on Friday could not be screened as there was no download of the film in these theatres. The licence approval to be given by the distributor had not been given sources said. When Chitraloka contacted distributor Balaram of Gokul films he confirmed the news but said he does not know the reasons why the film was not screened and why the license has not been given to some theatres in Bangalore, Kolar, Channapatna and other places.

Srinivasa theater in Kattaraguppe which had collected 7 lack share in the first week for the film could also not screen the morning show. Speaking to Chitraloka the theatre's manager Eshwar said we had issued morning show tickets and all of a sudden there was no download of the film to the screen. "We refunded the tickets. Now they have assured screening will continue from matinee show. This is a clash between the producer and distributor and we are suffering," he said.

The fight between producer Chandrashekar and distributors Gokul Films has resulted in trouble for the film. Sources say both want to release the film themselves. Meetings to solve the dispute between the two does not seem to have helped. But between these two the film is suffering.

Chandrashekar, the producer of Sudeep's latest film Ranna has raked up a controversy. Gokul Films had released the film as official distributor. But today Chandrashekar has released advertisements showing  that his Nimishamba Pictures is distributor of the film.

Sources said that after the original agreement there was differences and Chandrashekar demanded back the distribution rights. Negotiations were underway from the day the film released last Thursday.

Gokul Films is claiming that it is the rightful distributor as per the agreement and even the Film Chamber has authorised it.

Who is right and who is wrong is a big question!

The Regional Censor Board which was expected to watch Sudeep's new film Ranna on Wednesday did not. Sources said that the board members had planned to watch two Kannada film for giving censor certificate on Wednesday but due to some pressing official work and meetings of the concerned officers, it had to be postponed.

Ranna will now be watced by the board members on Thursday ruling out any possibility of the film releasing this week. The film can now release any time from next week only. 

The Regional Censor Board members have watched Sudeep's new film Ranna and the movie has got U/A certificate. Sudeep will take a call on the release date this evening, film's director Nanda Kishore said.

Fans are eagerly waiting for this film as the last Sudeep movie release more than a year ago Maanikya on May 1, 2014.

The Film Chamber has settled the dispute of how the profits of one of the biggest hits of Kannada films, Ranna should be shared. Probably only few people knew before its release that there was profit to be made. But when the film became very big after release almost everyone wanted a share.

The meeting went on for almost the whole day at the Film Chamber. The dispute was between who will get the profits from the film; the distributor Gokul Films or producer Nimishambha Chandrashekar. Finally it was settled that the distributor will keep the 10% of the gross and share the profit45% and 55% with the producer.

Balram of Gokul Films distribution said that if the negotiations had failed he would not have returned to Kannada films again. Speaking to Chitraloka he said that KFCC president Thomas Dsouza, veteran producer Sa Ra Govindu mediated the meeting and sorted things out in a fair manner. Sudeep visited KFCC on Thursday morning and without him the film would not have released also, he said.

Sudeep's new film Ranna for which only two songs are pending to be shot is going to Hong Kong. One of the songs will be shot there and the team will be visiting Hong Kong on February 20.

While the post production of the film is in full swing, sources say that the team led by director Nanda Kishora is gearing up to release the film by Ugadi festival in March. Ugadi is on March 21 this year which is a Saturday. So in all probability the film will release either on the second or third Friday of March. But since the work is not yet complete and the date cannot be announced before the film gets a Censor certificate, the film team is tight-lipped about the actual date.

With the Celebrity Cricket League season five over, Sudeep is also free from the tensions of playing cricket and has jumped back full time on the work of Ranna. The film has a huge star cast, many of them who are working for the first time with Sudeep. This includes Prakash Rai, Devraj, Madhoo, Rachita Ram, Haripriya and Chikkanna.

Well known actor Ravishankar who is known for his versatile acting and dubbing, has turned singer with 'Jigar Thanda'. Ravishankar has sung a song called 'Idu Armugam Kote Kano' under the composition of Arjun Janya.

Not only in the film, but during the audio release of the film, Ravishankar came to the stage and sang the song. He also danced to the tunes of the film. Ravishankar got a huge song for rendering the song which is picturised on him in the film.

'Jigar Thanda' is being directed by Shiva Ganesh, while Rahul is the hero of the film.

The KS Ravi Kumar directed film starring Sudeep has 60 more days of shooting pending including songs, producer Soorappa Babu said. Already 40 days of shooting is complete. Right now shooting is going on in Chennai and two schedules each in Bengaluru and Chennai has been planned. Songs will be shot in abroad. Nithya Menon is the heroine.

The film has been named Mudinja Ivana Pudi in Tamil but has not been given a title in Kannada yet. Nithya Menon is the heroine in the film.

A few days back director Ramgopal Verma had announced that he will be directing a film called 'Appa' based on the life of don Muttappa Rai. But there were assumptions, whether the film would start or not?

Now producer M N Kumar and actor Sudeep has joined hands with Ramgopal Verma for the film and the film has been titled as 'Rai'. Though it has not been announced when the film would be launched, the film is expected to go on floors next year, after Sudeep finishes 'Kotigobba' and 'Hebbuli'.
