Shivarajkumar is both a soldier guarding the Indian borders but also a leader who destroys the corrupt politicians inside the country in this film Mass Leader. The film starts with the problem of illegal migration into Karnataka. Illegal migration to Karnataka is being promoted by a politician to create vote banks. It is supported by the chief minister. Shivaraj (Shivarajkumar) steps in to stop this. He is supported by two of his aides played by Vijaya Raghavendra and Gururaj Jaggesh. But nothing much is know about who Shivaraj actually is. It is a suspense that opens up in the second half.

A rowdy from Mangaluru played by Yogish is sent to kill Shivaraj. But there is a connection between the two. Even that is a little supsense. Shivaraj's only relative is his little daughter. What happened to his other relatives like parents, siblings and wife? For that you have to watch the film. From Bengaluru the film's flashback goes to Kashmir. What happened in Kashmir is an action packed adventure that will mesmerise you. 

The film is filled with so many actors. Apart from Shivanna, Vijay Raghavendra, Gururaj and Yogish there are Sharmiela Mandre, Pranitha, Prakash Belawadi, Gurudutt and others. Each one has a special role in the film. The film fills you with nationalism and love for the country.

Mass Leader is a mass film in all aspects. There are some terrific fight sequences. The one between Shivanna and Yogish in rain is awesome. It sets new standards. Then there is a chase sequence on snow mobiles in Kashmir which makes you feel like watching a Hollywood movie. 

There are some good songs too with music by Veer Samarth giving the thrills. The background score is another brilliant aspect of the film. The photography gives pleasure to the eyes. The dialogues are inspiring and makes no bones about various issues be it corruption, terrorism or importance of soldiers. It is a must watch for all Indians.

Actor Shivarajakumar has said that he is not a so-called leader, but is ready to take up the responsibility of leading the Kannada film industry.

On Friday, many film personalities met Shivarajakumar at his residence and requested the actor to lead the Kannada film industry. The Kannada film industry is facing a lot of problems post Corona pandemic and the industry personalities is of a opinion that Shivarajakumar is the right person to lead the industry in this time of crisis.

After that Shivarajakumar talked to the media and expressed his opinions about the leadership. 'I don't have any intentions of becoming a leader. But many industry persons have expressed their feeling that I should take a lead. If something good happens to the film industry, then I would definitely take the lead. I am not a so-called leader, but I take the responsibility' said Shivarajakumar.

The confrontation between two film makers over a title has intensified. On Friday, Tharun Shivappa announced that his film with Shivarajkumar which is named Mass Leader will continue with the same title.

He said that AMR Ramesh was quiet from the beginning and when the film is now ready for release has created a controversy. Director Producer AMR Ramesh has retaliated saying he will hold a protest in front of the KFCC. He owns the title Leader and said that Mass Leader is a copy of his title.

Shivarajkumar starter Mass leader controversy has been cleared and the movie is releasing on 11th August as announced earlier. Movie is produced by Tarun Shivappa.

Director AMR Ramesh had filed a case against the movie title Mass Leader and had obtained a stay order against the movie not to release on August 11st since he his having the title Leader.

Today K Manju had called AMR Ramesh and Tarun and had a interaction and negotiated with them and convienced Ramesh to withdraw the case and allow the movie to release as schedule. Giving respect to K Manju, AMR agreed to withdraw the case tomorrow morning and making way for the smooth release for the movie.

Producer Tarun Shivappa has thanked K Manju and AMR Ramesh for solving the problem.

However, there is a change in the venue and the audio will be released at the Ambedkar Bhavan in Bangalore. Well known Telugu hero Nandamuri Balakrishna will be releasing the songs of the film.

Director producer AMR Ramesh has approached the city civil court with a suit for injunction against Shivarajkumar's film Mass Leader. The suit has been filed by AMR Ramesh and his wife Indumathi against Tarun Talkis, Tharun Shivappa, KFCC and the Censor Board. The case has been filed on July 27 itself and Ramesh has released the details of the suit to the media. However the court's order is not forthcoming. The film is scheduled for release next week.

What will happen to the film's release now is a suspense. Ramesh has objected to the title contending that he has registered the title Leader and it was wrong for others to use similar titles.

The fight over the film title Leader has gone before a court in Bengaluru. But if you look at judgement by the high courts and even the Supreme Court over the last few years it is clear that you cannot have a copyright on the title of any work, including films, books and music albums. There is copyright on the work itself but not on the titles.

The most famous case was two years ago when a writer challenged the use of the Hindi film title Desi Boyz. He claimed that it was infringing on his copyright as he had written a script called Desi Boys and shown it to the film maker. But the Supreme Court ruled (CRIMINAL APPEAL No. 258 OF 2013) that "A title does not qualify for being described as work". Further the court said that the words Desi and Boys were commonly used in spoken language and there cannot be copyright on it. So will there be copyright on words 'Mass' or 'Leader'. It cannot be. 

There was another case involving Tamil director A.R. Murugadoss. In this case the Madras High Court ruled that there cannot be any copyright on the words like Raja and Rani. The film's title was Raja Rani. 

The only case that can stand scrutiny is if one title is passing off as another. If the makers of Mass Leader are trying to sell their film as if it is the film Leader then it can be a case. But here it is Shivarajkumar starrer Mass Leader that is complete and it cannot be passed off as a film that is not even made.

It's been a long time since actress Praneetha Subhash signed a Kannada film. Her last film was A Second Hand Lover in which she played Ajay Rao's heroine. After that Praneetha has silently signed yet another new film.

This time, Praneetha is being paired opposite Shivarajakumar in Mass Leader being produced by Tarun Shivappa. The film is likely to be launched once after 'Srikanta' is completed. Sahana Murthy who earlier directed 'Rose' is directing the film.

There is a clash between Shivarajkumar and Vijay Raghavendra coming up next week. Shivanna's Mass Leader and Vijay Raghavendra's Jaani is releasing on August 11. Coincidentally Vijay Raghavendra has also acted in Mass Leader. Jaani is the directorial debut of popular cinematographer PKH Das. 

It is not unusual to have films of two stars releasing the same day. But is is unusual to have two films of the same lead actor releasing the same day even if he is playing a major role in one of them. Vijay Raghavendra is making both these things happen on the same day. There is no doubt that Mass Leader is the bigger of the two films.

ಕೋರ್ಟ್ ತಡೆ ನೀಡಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ನಿಗದಿಯಂತೆ ಆಗಸ್ಟ್ 11ಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆಯಾಗುವುದು ಅನುಮಾನ. ಮಾಸ್ ಲೀಡರ್ ಚಿತ್ರ ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿರುವ ತರುಣ್ ಟಾಕೀಸ್ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆ ಹಾಗೂ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ತರುಣ್ ಶಿವಪ್ಪ ಸಿಟಿ ಸಿವಿಲ್ ಕೋರ್ಟ್​​ನಲ್ಲಿ  ತಮ್ಮ ವಾದ ಮಂಡಿಸಬೇಕು. ಈ ಹಂತದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್​​ನ ಹಳೆಯ ತೀರ್ಪೊಂದು ಮಾಸ್ ಲೀಡರ್ ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡದ ನೆರವಿಗೆ ಬರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆಗಳಿವೆ.

ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಹಿಂದೆ ಅಕ್ಷಯ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅಭಿನಯದ ಹಿಂದಿ ಚಿತ್ರ Desi Boyz ವಿರುದ್ಧ Desi Boys ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡದ ಕಥೆಗಾರ ದೇವ್​ಕಟ್ಟಾ ಎಂಬುವರು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದರು.  Desi Boyz ಚಿತ್ರದ ಟೈಟಲ್​ನ್ನು ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿದ್ದರು. ಎರಡೂ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಟೈಟಲ್​ನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ S & Z ಎಂಬ ಸ್ಪೆಲ್ಲಿಂಗ್ ಬದಲಾವಣೆಯಷ್ಟೆ. ಆ ಪ್ರಕರಣದಲ್ಲಿ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್ ನೀಡಿದ್ದ ತೀರ್ಪು ಕಾಪಿರೈಟ್ ವಿವಾದಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಐತಿಹಾಸಿಕ ಎಂದೇ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿದೆ. 

ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕಥೆ, ಚಿತ್ರಕಥೆಯ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಕಾಪಿರೈಟ್ ಇರುತ್ತದೆಯೇ ಹೊರತು, ಚಿತ್ರದ ಟೈಟಲ್​ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾರೂ ಕೂಡಾ ಕಾಪಿರೈಟ್ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವು ಪದಗಳಷ್ಟೆ. ಆ ಪದವನ್ನೇ ಟೈಟಲ್ ಆಗಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಕೊಂಡು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬರು ಬೇರೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಅದು ಕಾಪಿರೈಟ್ ಉಲ್ಲಂಘನೆ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಿತ್ತು ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್. ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್ ತೀರ್ಪಿನ ಪ್ರಕಾರ Desi ಅಥವಾ Boys ಅಥವಾ Boys ನಿಘಂಟಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ  ಪದಗಳಷ್ಟೇ. 

ಮಾಸ್​ ಲೀಡರ್​ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಟೈಟಲ್ ವಿವಾದದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್ ಸುಪ್ರೀಂಕೋರ್ಟ್​ನ ಈ ತೀರ್ಪನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಿದರೆ, ಎಎಂಆರ್ ರಮೇಶ್​ ವಾದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿನ್ನಡೆಯಾಗಬಹುದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಇದೇ ತೀರ್ಪನ್ನು ಆಧರಿಸಿ ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಮುರುಗನ್ ದಾಸ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ರಾಜರಾಣಿ ಎಂಬ ತಮಿಳು ಚಿತ್ರದ ವಿವಾದದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮದ್ರಾಸ್ ಹೈಕೋರ್ಟ್ ತೀರ್ಪು ನೀಡಿತ್ತು. ರಾಜ ರಾಣಿ ಎಂಬುದು ಪದಗಳಷ್ಟೇ. ಆ ಪದಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಯಾರೂ ಕಾಪಿರೈಟ್ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿತ್ತು.

ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಗಳು ಏನು ಬೇಕಾದರೂ ಮಾತನಾಡಬಲ್ಲರು. ಆದರೆ, ಯಾವುದಾದರೂ ವಿಚಾರ ತಮ್ಮ ವೋಟ್‍ಬ್ಯಾಂಕ್‍ಗೆ ಏಟು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೆ ಎಂದು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಗೊತ್ತಾದರೂ ಸಾಕು, ಗಪ್‍ಚುಪ್ ಆಗಿಬಿಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಹಾಗೆ ಕೆಲವು ರಾಜಕಾರಣಿಗಳು ಸೈಲೆಂಟ್ ಆಗಿ ಕೂರುವ ವಿಚಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಅಕ್ರಮ ವಲಸಿಗರ ವಿಚಾರ.

ಭಾರತಕ್ಕೆ ಹಲವು ದೇಶಗಳಿಂದ, ಅದರಲ್ಲೂ ವಿಶೇಷವಾಗಿ ಬಾಂಗ್ಲಾದೇಶದಿಂದ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ವಲಸಿಗರು ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಹೊಸದೇನಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೆ, ಅದೀಗ ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯೇ ಆಗಿ ಹೋಗಿವೆ. ಹಾಗೆ ಬಂದ ವಲಸಿಗರು, ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸುಲಭವಾಗಿ ಮತಪತ್ರ, ಪ್ಯಾನ್ ಕಾರ್ಡ್, ರೇಷನ್ ಕಾರ್ಡ್, ಆಧಾರ್ ಕಾರ್ಡ್‍ಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಪಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಮಾಸ್ ಲೀಡರ್ ಆ ವಿಚಾರದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಧ್ವನಿಯೆತ್ತಲಿದೆ.

ಇಂತಹ ಕಥೆಯನ್ನು ಹೇಳೋಕೆ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ಟ್ರಾಂಗ್ ನಟ ಬೇಕಿತ್ತು. ಹೀಗಾಗಿಯೇ ಆ ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಆಯ್ಕೆ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಾರೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಶಿವರಾಜ್ ಕುಮಾರ್. ಒಂದು ಗಟ್ಟಿ ಸಂದೇಶ ಹೇಳುವ ಚಿತ್ರದ ನಾಯಕ ಕೂಡಾ, ತೂಕದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿತ್ವ ಹೊಂದಿರಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಬಯಸುವುದು ಸಹಜವಲ್ಲವೇ..?
