  • Avane Srimannarayana review: Chitraloka Rating 4 /5*

    avane srimnanarayana movie review

He is finally here after three years. As they say, somethings in life are worth waiting and Avane Srimannarayana easily falls under the category wherein despite arriving late, it doesn't fail to deliver on the promises it assured to its beloved audience. A popular dialogue from a movie starring Superstar Rajinikath which translates to as - that he is always brand new (latest) even if he at times comes late, fits perfectly to Avane Srimannarayana and its three years of journey.

Rakshit Shetty and his talented team does it again by setting the standard higher with newness in filmmaking. Furthermore, every minute detail in it has been carefully crafted to elevate the experience of watching the movie on the silver screen, be it visual, audio and the humour laced fantasy thriller combined with some great performances.

Avane Srimannarayana is special on various account, from daring to experiment to finally living up to its expectations. Like Ulidavaru Kandanthe, Rakshit and his seven oods team which churned this tale, has worked on every character to align with the core entertainment.

The above careful considerations is the obvious reason for stretching the duration to over three hours. However, the bigger the better proves good for Avane Srimannarayana. The making justifies every single frame which is filled with an extraordinary work of art. It takes the audience to a unique world of fantasy packed with every possible entertaining element available. In short, it is an amazing treat to the audience, who have been longing for such a breathtaking extravaganza.

Insofar as the tale, it is better to experience than reading about it, but to incite the curiosity, it is set in the fantasy place called 'Amaravathi' and revolves around the search for a heist hidden by a bunch of drama artists. Despite killing drama artists, the head of the bad guys fails to find the heist, and this makes him take a vow to destroy everyone from the family of drama artists and also announces that whosoever finds the heist would be the next head of their honourable clan of criminals. It results in a tussle between two brothers of the 'criminal' head!.

After 15 years, comes the entry of Narayana, the super cool cop played by Rakshit, who comes up with a scheme of his own to trace the hidden heist. He encounters Lakshmi, a journalist played by Shanvi Srivastava. What follows next is a rollercoaster of fun, thrill and excitement right till the end. Rakshit as Narayan is fantastic, and Shanvi Srivastava is as good as Lakshmi, worth every penny, who has excelled with sheer hard work for over the years. Lending her own voice to her character deserves appreciation. The rest of the cast have put in their best for this one which has no doubt that will be remembered for long, setting a milestone in the Kannada film industry.

Music and the background score and the camera work stands out. They are the eyes and ears to the face of Avane Srimannarayana.

Narayana awaits your arrival at a theatre near you. Go watch this fantastic fantasy, which will leave you all spellbound. That's a guarantee from Sachin, Rakshit, Shanvi and ASN team including the man who dared to invest in their dreams - Pushkara Mallikarjunaiah.

The film team had decided to fight the copyright case filed against them by Lahari Music in the court and not go for a compromise. The team firmly believes it has not done anything illegal and therefore not bowing before Lahari.

Rakshit Shetty said "At any cost we are releasing our film Kirik Party on 30th December" speaking to Chitraloka. On 28th Lahari Velu has brought a stay on the release of the movie from a court for allegedly using the small bit of tune from Shanti Kranthi movie saying it has copyright over it.

Speaking to Chitraloka  Rakshith Shetty said "it was inspirational and Tribute to Hamsalekha and Ravichandran. I don't think there is a copyright for inspiration. We never expected that they will go the court and get stay for the release. Anyhow we will not pay them anything but we will fight the case. Right now we are cutting that full song which is about 5.30 minutes and releasing the film. Later let the court decide who is right and give justice. Our film editing is in such a way that even after cutting the song audience may not feel the cut but a small jerk may be noticed by a few."

  • Does Mercury Have A Controversial Subject?

    does mercury have controversial subject

The upcoming silent film Mercury has invoked great interest for many reasons. It is one of the rare films that does not have dialogues. The trailer of the film has stunned audience with Prabhudeva in an unusual and never-seen-before role.

The trailer seemed like a thriller and horror film combined. But the film makers have not yet revealed what the story is. However some details are trickling down and it is said that there could be a controversial subject in the project. The trailer shows a monument for 84 people killed in mercury poisoning. But where did so many people die in India due to poisoning by chemicals? Is the film about ghosts of those people facing up the trekkers who have lost their way?

The film could also be about the effects of Mercury poisoning. Prabhudeva could well be playing a victim of the poisoning who has somehow survived but has become blind. By creating so much speculation by revealing so little about the film the film makers have managed to make the film a much awaited release. The film is releasing in Kannada this Friday. Though there are no dialogues the title card and other details will be in Kannada.

  • Fake FB Page Cheating In The Name Of Kirik Party

    fake fb page

A fake Facebook page is apparently cheating on the name of Rakshit Shetty and Kirik Party. Calling itself "Kirik Party Rakshit Shetty - Call for Acters" (including the spelling mistake of the word actors) the page is calling for new actors for a film called College Life.

It says it needs actors for playing college going students. But making its intention clear it asks for Rs 350 for admission! Rakshit Shetty has made it clear that neither him or anyone from the Kirik Party team has anything to do with it. Misusing both the film and the actor's name it is not known how many people have fallen prey to this trap.

  • Godhi Banna Saadarana Maikattu Review

godi banna sadharan maikattu movie image

Godhi Banna Saadarana Maikattu has turned out to be one of the best films to come out of Sandalwood, not just this year but in many years. It has a simple story but profound meaning in all aspects.

The blending of so many sentiments like a father-son relation, love in the time of crisis, transformation of a villain,a householder's petty but deeply felt life could not have been done better. In a style mixes realistic and commercial director Hemanth Rao has given Kannada a great film indeed.

Rakshit Shetty plays a single man caught up in a rat race and no time for his father. His father who is suffering from Alzheimer's goes missing. But it is not just the search for the father. The son also rediscovers the father's love he has missed for years. He also finds love. A villain finds purpose for life. So many characters rediscover their lives. The audience discovers a beautiful film. We can identify with every character. Even characters that come for a scene also make an impact.

The film is a bit slow in a few places but otherwise makes for an immersive watch. There is brilliant acting by Anant Nag, Achyutha and Vashista. Rakshit Shetty and Sruthi Hariharan fill life to their characters. The songs are only in montages and make an impact. Don't miss this film for anything.
