Well known music composer Arjun Janya has replaced Ajaneesh Lokanath as music director in Rakshith Shetty's 'Ricky' and Arjun Janya will be the new music director of the film. Earlier, Ajaneesh Lokanath who had composed music for Rakshith Shetty's 'Ulidavaruf Kandanthe' was roped in to compose the music for 'Ricky'.

Ajaneesh had composed the music for the film. However, the music were not liked by the team and Ajaneesh failed to live up to their expectations. With no other go the team has replaced Ajaneesh Lokanath with Arjun Janya.

Arjun Janya has already started composing songs for the film and his music compositions for the film has immensely been liked by the team and Arjun will continue as the new music director of 'Ricky'.

Two well known friends S V Babu and S V Shekhar is all set to compete with each other on this coming Friday. Both their films 'Ricky' as well as 'Mast Mohabbath' is all set to hit the screens on Friday.

If everything had gone right, then Shekhar's 'Mast Mohabbath' was supposed to released on the 15th of January and 'Ricky' was supposed to release on 29th of January. However, 'Mast Mohabbath' got postponed as 'Kathe Chitrakathe Nirdeshana Puttanna' was doing good business in Anupama theater. Meanwhile, 'Ricky' was supposed to release on 29th. However, the film got pre-poned as Darshan starrer 'Virat' was announced on 29th of January.

With both the films getting postponed and preponed, now both the films will be competing with each other on Friday. The films producers are good friends and has to compete with each other. Who among the two will win is yet to be seen in the coming days?

Movie producers invest crores of Rupees to make a movie and release it in theatres. It is a fact that 90% of the movies in all languages do no do well in the box office. Only a few will become super hit and a few more become box office hits.

But why don't people come to theatres to watch Kannada films even if they are good and win appreciation from the audience and not just from critics? That is the big question. One of the reasons is the rate of admission in the multiplexes. But there is a lurking danger in the from of another reason. Why would you pay for a film in the multiplex or theatre if you can watch it free online?

Yes. Online piracy is becoming a big menace day by day. But nobody seems to realize the seriousness of the situation. Many Kannada movies which has been released in theatres is available online and these are not official. Pirated versions of the film are released online. Even though most of them are camera prints they are good enough to watch on computers.

Jessie movie was released in theatres on March 25th. It was available on the net from June 19th. SV Babu produced Ricky movie starring Rakshith Shetty, Haripriya was released on January 22 and it was there to watch online from 7th June 2016. Like these many Kannada movies are available online. And none of them have been uploaded officially by the film makers. They do not get a single paisa from it. But the biggest horror is that some of the movies that are online have not even been sold to TV channels for satellite telecast rights. With pirated versions available online, TV channels do not want to pay for purchasing TV telecast rights!

This is not the first time it is happening. Aatagara movie was uploaded online.

Through Chitraloka and Raviraj, the Kananda movie Drishya's distribution rights was purchased for the USA market. After the first screening there was a shocking news. High quality Drishya movie was available on the Net which had a watermark reading 'Censor Copy'! Now how do you expect people to pay for it when it is availabe for free online.

1st Rank Raju producer Manjunath Kandkur says "Our movie was running well in Karnataka and became a big hit. But it was leaked online. After this when we released the movie in USA it was a flop. Because of online piracy we lost lakhs of Rupees. Even our TV rights has not been sold."

When Chitraloka spoke to Mohan of Ananda Audio he said "it is very difficult to control online piracy. There is a way to stop it in You Tube. If they have the account let the movie producer write to Youtube and they will block the video. But if it is available on other servers like torrents it is very difficult. If a movie producer gives authorization letter to us we will try to control online piracy. This problem exists  not only for Kannada but almost all language movies are facing the same threat. Bollywood movie Great Grand Masti which was supposed to release in August is available online now. It is now in the hands of all the film chambers in India to sit and think on how we can stop online piracy."

Well known producer Parvathamma Rajakumar released the audio of Rakshith Shetty starrer 'Ricky' being produced by S V Babu at Dr Ambedkar Grounds in Basaveshwaranagar in Bangalore. S V Babu had organised the audio release of his latest film 'Ricky' along with a musical night by music director cum singer Arjun Janya. Parvathamma Rajakumar was the chief guest of this event and released the audio of the film composed by Arjun Janya.

Apart from Parvathamma Rajakumar, Home Minister G Parameshwar, MLAs Suresh Kumar and Muniratna, KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu, Hema Chaudhary and others were present at the occasion. Meanwhile, former KFCC Presidents including K V Chandrashekhar, B Vijaykumar, H D Gangaraju, Thomas D'souza and others were felicitated during the occasion.

Ricky movie starring Rakshith Shetty, Haripriya which was supposed to get released in Tribhuvan has been shifted to Abhinaya theater in the last moment. Ricky movie had announced Tribhuvan where First Rank Raju movie was running. As the collection of the First Rank Raju was good Ricky team decided to shift Ricky movie to Abhinaya.

Despite Darshan not wanting to hurt any Kannada producer's prospect, his film Viraat is likely to release on the same day as Rakshit Shetty's Ricky on January 22. The near completion of the much delayed Viraat and its imminent release had forced the rescheduling of many releases. Most film makers did not want to clash with his film. But the producer of Viraat suddenly announced the film to release on Darshan. But Darshan's wish was to release the film on or after January 28 so that other films which had announced their releases were not affected.

Rishab Shetty directed Ricky had announced weeks ago of its release on Jan 22. It is one of the most anticipated films this year. If Viraat is released the same day it may take away many theatres. This is what Darshan did not want to happen as his films will get theatres whenever it is released. It is to be seen if the producer of Viraat heeds to Darshan's advice.
