Darshan starrer 'Airavatha' is all set to release on the 01st of October (Thursday) in more than 350 theaters across the world. 'Airavatha' will be releasing in a record number of 350 theaters in Karnataka apart from releasing in other states and overseas. Sandesh Nagaraj is the producer of the film and Nagaraj admits that 'Airavatha' is the costliest film made under his banner. The film has already recovered the costs even before the release.

Darshan plays a cop in this film after a long gap and actress Urvashi Rautela plays the heroine in the film, while Prakash Rai is seen in a negative role. V Harikrishna is in charge of the music while, Shekhar Chandra is the cameraman.

P Sheshadri's award winning film 'Athithi' which was released almost ten years back is all set to be remade in Hindi. The film has been titled as 'The Red Corridor' and stars Sushanth Singh and Drithiman Chatterjee in lead roles.

Sheshadri says the proposal to remake the film in Hindi is very old. If everything had happened correctly then Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan was supposed to play the lead roles. However, the film got delayed due to various reasons and now the film is being finally remade to Hindi.

'The Red Corridor' is being directed by Raghavesh Asthana.

The controversial dialogue from Chiranjeevi Sarja starrer 'Seizer' has been deleted and the film will release without the dialogue.

There is a dialogue about cow slaughter in the film and Prakash Rai is said to have objected about such a dialogue. There were news that Prakash Rai called the director and ordered him to delete the dialogue from the film. However, the director had said that Prakash Rai has nothing to do with the dialogues of the film and it is meaningless on his part to talk about the dialogues. However, the director has deleted the dialogue because of the insistence of actor Ravichandran, who has not played a prominent role in the film, but also has delivered the dialogue.

'Seizer' is all set to be released in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages simultaneously on the 13th of this month. 'Seizer' stars Chiranjeevi Sarja, Parul Yadav, Ravichandran, Prakash Rai and others in prominent roles. Rajesh Katta is the cameraman, while Chandan Shetty has composed the songs for the film. Vinay Krishna has directed the film apart from writing the story and screenplay of the film.

'Devara Nadalli' being written and directed by B Suresha was supposed to release on the festival day of Sankranthi. However, the film has been postponed due to unavailability of theaters.

'Devara Nadalli' was supposed to release with 16 other films on Friday. However, there was unavailability of theaters and the film got one theater for release. The team thought it is not proper to release the film as it will be killed and has decided to release the film on the 05th of February.

The film stars Prakash Rai, Achyuth Kumar, Disha Ramesh, Manu Hegade and others. Hamsalekha has scored the music while Advaitha is the cameraman.

Saying that he and Arjun Sarja have been friends for a long time and someone that he shares his journey along with as an artiste, the national award winning actor Prakash Raj has said clarifying that he never held Arjun as guilty.

While clarifying his stand on the 'me too’ allegations concerning actress Sruthi Hariharan accusing Arjun Sarja of sexual harassment, Raj adds that he has known Arjun Sarja better than many.

“Sruthi is not an 'opportunistic woman’ as many are accusing her of. She is a confident and talented woman. It is the same society which has helped her grow as an artiste just like any one of us. They both (Sruthi and Arjun) have a lot of potential to work further in various social fields. Hence in these backdrop, it is better for everyone to understand on what I am actually seeking for in this sensitive issue,” Prakash says.

He concludes requesting a few seniors in the industry to hold a dialogue between the two and solve the issue at the earliest without any prejudice, and in an impartial manner.

Prakash Rai's new directorial venture 'Idoole Ramayana' which is the remake of Malayalam hit 'Shutter' is all set to release on the 07th of October across Karnataka. Prakash Rai who has started the promotion of the film has confirmed that he will be releasing the film on that day.

The film stars Prakash Rai and Priyamani in prominent roles and Ilayaraja has composed the songs of the film. The film has been shot simultaneously in Kannada and Telugu and both the films are getting released on the same day.

"In a colorful gala function Kannadiga Prakash Rai has received the applaud from superstar Rajanikanth as 'Hats Off' for having given an excellent tribute to mentor KB. KB himself has given life to so many. Now also he gave the credit for Vidyasagar the music director for suggesting the title 'POI' he said to a rain of applause.

Rajanikanth was speaking at the University Auditorium in Chennai on Sunday evening after the receiving the first piece of CD of POI Tamil film from Dr. Kamal Hassan. Rajanikanth fittingly quoted from the Mahabharatha - Drona picking the students on his choice and another anecdote 'Nemmadhi' and Power, Prestige and Panam'.

Rajanikanth showed his brilliance time sense when the song on KB was played. When all were requested to stand up when the song is played KB also stood up. Noticing this quickly Rajanikanth requested KB to sit because it is a tribute to him. The superb actor Dr.Kamal Hassan was observing this move made by Rajanikanth.

Dr.Kamal Hassan said he is a part of KB school and he is a student still today. Kbji after seeing the today's arrangement told that something happens to him in the stomach. This is only for one day it happens to him but persons like me whenever we see him we get that experience he lauded and said he is 'Raja Rishi'. He picks out the talent that is not known to us he said.

The cynosure of all eyes KB in his address said he had come today because superstar Rajanikanth and Ulaganayaka Dr.Kamal Hassan are coming. I am not for this type of grandeur. I love simplicity. When I worked for this film and prepared the first copy of 'POI' I felt 10 years of age has come down. Now if the audience see the film and bless me I would be younger by another 10 years he disclosed. He also requested everyone to go home and hear the nine melodious tunes scored by Vidyasagar.

'STRUPENDOUS' - I always quarrel with this Thai Nagesh because he speaks bad English. He was telling me after seeing the film that it is 'strupendous'. I told him there is no such English word. He was mixing stupendous and tremendous and telling 'Strupendous'. However the company of Nagesh and V.Balu is unforgettable in my life he said.

Actress Jayanthi speaking in Tamil recounted her experience working in KB camp. She also expressed that she is anxious to see the film because KB has acted in the movie.

Prakash Rai and Ramesh Aravind the two humble students conducted the whole show. Actor Shivakumar, Thai Nagesh, V.Balu also spoke on this occasion.

The artistes who have acted in KB direction in Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Mayalam languages were present on this occasion. From Kannada Ramesh Aravind, T.S.Nagabharana, actress Shruthi, Jayanthi, her daughter in law Anu Prabhakar, Lokanath, H.G.Somasekhara Rao, Sunderraj, Pramila Joshai, Sridhar and Ramakrishna were present.

Six lovely tunes of KB's 101 films were picked on the occasion. KB has directed Kannada films like Sundaraswapnagalu, Eradu Rekhegalu, Benkiyalli Aralidha Hoovugalu etc. At least one song from Kannada should have been there. When Tamil, Telugu and Hindi films songs are part of the music program why not a Kannada song yaar! After all 101 direction of KB is also inclusive of Kannada films he has directed.

The program took off by half an hour late. Prakash Raj's daughter lighted the lamp to mark the beginning for the colorful function.

The arrangements made by Prakash Rai for Kannada film press that came from Bangalore to attend this function to Chennai was excellent.

The Nandi awards for the year 2012 and 2013 have been released and many Kannadigas including Sudeep has won many awards in both the years.

Most prominently, Sudeep has won the best villain award for his performance for 'Eega'. Another Kannadiga S S Rajamouli, who is basically from Raichur in Karnataka has been adjudged the best director and best screenplay writer for the same film. These awards are for the year 2012.

For the year 2013, Prakash Raj has won the best supporting award for 'Sitamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu', while Sampat Raj has got the best villain award for his best portrayal for the film 'Mirchi'.

Preetham Gubbi's new film 'Naanu Mattu Varalakshmi' which stars debutante Prithvi is all set to release on the 25th of November. The film is being released through Jayanna Films across Karnataka.

Prithvi is making his debut as a hero in this film. Prithvi is the grand son of late music director G K Venkatesh. Prithvi is an engineering graduate and is trained in acting, stunts and dancing. Prithvi plays a bike racer in this film. Malavika Mohnan is the heroine.

Prakash Rai and Madhu plays prominent roles in this film along with Achyuth Kumar, Sadhu Kokila, Achyuth Kumar, Rangayana Raghu and others. V Harikrishna is the music director while Preetha is in charge of camera.

'Sanchari' Vijay who won the National award for best actor for his performance in the film 'Nanvanalla Avalu' was felicitated in Bangalore on Wednesday night at Gold Finch Hotel. The event was organised by none other than actor-director-producer Prakash Rai.

The event was attended by well known actor-director Parthiban, V Ravichandran, Girish Kasaravalli, B Suresha, Jogi and others. The dignitaries felicitated the award winners and lauded not only the awardees for their effort but also about Prakash Rai who had organised such a function.

Apart from Vijay, producer Ravi Garani and director Lingadevaru of 'Nanavanalla Avalu' and 'Harivu' producer Girish as well as director Mansore was felicitated during the occasion.

As of now, the first week of February will see two films with Prakash Rai in major roles hit the screen on the same day. Both Priyanka, directed by Dinesh Baboo and Devara Naadalli directed by B Suresha are set to release on February 5.

Prakash Rai plays prominent roles in both the films. A point of interest is that in both the films, Rai plays a police investigator. In Priyanka he is an police investigator trying to crack a murder case.

In Devara Naadalli he is a police officer investigating into a bomb blast case. It would be a bonanza for his fans but now the two film makers are worried that the roles he is playing in the two films would confuse audience. If it is taken seriously, release of one of the films could be delayed. 

Actor Prakash Rai who had not signed any films as he was busy contesting for the Lok Sabha elections, is back to acting and the actor has signed Puneeth Rajakumar starrer 'Yuvaratna'.

'Yuvaratna' is Prakash Raj's first film after the elections and the actor is playing the role of the principal in this film. Earlier, Boman Iran was said to play the role and now Prakash is said to have replaced the actor. Prakash Raj had earlier acted with Puneeth in 'Rajkumara' also.

'Yuvaratna' is scripted and directed by Santhosh Anandaram and produced by Vijay Kiragandoor under Hombale Films. Sayesh Sehgal is the heroine. Dhananjay, John Kokken  and Dhananjay are playing negative roles in the film. V Harikrishna is the music composer of the film, while Venkatesh Anguraj is behind the camera.

Actor Prakash Rai is in London for the Europe premiere of his latest film 'Idolle Ramayana' which was released earlier this month. The film will be released in London, Frankfurt and Amsterdam on 29th and 30th of October. Prakash will be participating in an interaction session with the audience.

Prakash Rai is ready to take on the mantle of director once again. This time he is directing a bilingual film in Kannada and Telugu and the film is named Idolle Ramayana in Kannada. Kannada writer and senior journalist Jogi is part of the team apart from Sandalwood art director Shashidhar Adapa.

Ilaiyaraaja is composing the music for the film and the film is likely to feature many new faces. The film is being made under the Prakash Raj Productions banner. Rai last directed the film Oggarane which was also made in Tamil and Telugu simultaneously.

The first-look poster of the film was released a few days ago and has created a sensation by its uniqueness. The title suggests that the film is a satire. But more details are expected shortly. 

Earlier, there was news that actor-director Prakash Rai will be remaking Ananth Nag and Rakshith Shetty starrer Godhi Banna Sadharana Maikattu in Hindi. Now the actor himself has confirmed that he will producing the Hindi version also.

Prakash Rai on Wednesday night tweeted that he will be produding 'Godhi Banna Sadharana Maikattu' in Hindi through his Prakash Raj Productions.

Though Prakash Rai has confirmed that he will be remaking the films in other languages, he has not divulged any details about when the films would start or who would star in them. More details about the film are yet awaited.

Prakash Rai says his dream of acting in Dinesh Baboo film has come true. Prakash Rai has acted in Dinesh Baboo’s forthcoming film ‘Priyanka’ which stars Priyanka Upendra in the lead role.

Prakash Rai was talking during the press meet of the film. ‘Till now I have acted in the direction of 300 plus directors. But till now I couldn’t act in a Dinesh Baboo film due to various reasons. I like his films very much and I always wanted to act in his direction. Last year Baboo had called me to collect the number of Abhilash who had acted in my ‘Oggarane’. During that time Baboo asked me whether I could act in the film for which I gladly obliged to’ said Prakash Rai.

Prakash Rai plays the role of an investigative officer in this film.

Priyanka Is My Costly Film - Baboo

Well known director cum cinematographer who was away from directing Kannada films due to various reasons is back with a new film called ‘Priyanka’. The film stars Priyanka Upendra, Prakash Rai, Abhilash, Shivadhwaj and others in prominent roles.

Dinesh Baboo has silently wrapped up the film and on Thursday evening the teaser and the songs of the film were released.

Dinesh Baboo says the film is based on a real incident which occurred in Bangalore last year. Though the case regarding the real incident is not yet solved, Baboo has based the story on the incident and has given a conclusion to the film. The film was shot in November last year and is ready for release.

When asked whether the film is a typical Dinesh Baboo low budget film, Baboo says the film is a big budget film compared to his standards. ‘Normally I wrap up the shooting of my films in a very limited time. I have completed a film in just 10 days also. But I took 32 days to complete the film, which is costly compared to my standards’ laughs Dinesh Baboo.

The film will be released sometime in May.
