The scene in the film Anjaniputra which was opposed by an advocate has been deleted. After deleting the scene which is 17 seconds long the new version has been uploaded on the UFO and Qube networks.

This happened at 6.30 pm today. So any show that started after that will not have the scene. An advocate has approached the court seeking deletion of the scene.  The film released last weekend and has become a big hit.

In an unprecedented scenario, not less than 132 Kannada movies had applied for censorship in the month of October alone. With the ongoing trend, Sandalwood is all set to break its own record for the highest number of Kannada movies censored in a calendar year.

Leading producer and former Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce president Sa Ra Govindu, says that it is shocking to learn from censor board officer Srinivasappa that at least 132 Kannada movies had applied for censorship in the month of October alone.

"In 2018, around 300 Kannada movies were censored and with the ongoing trend, the total for the same, for the current year is estimated to go beyond 400! This is an alarming situation. Where is the industry heading towards?" asks Mr. Govindu.

Further, the experts in the field analyse the situation, as more and more filmmakers aiming at seeking subsidies and awards, which is one of the main causes for highest number of films applying for censorship.

On the other hand with steep rise in the number of films seeking censorship, the officers of the censor board are working overtime with the staff watching a minimum of 10 to a maximum of 15 movies a day to clear the pending applications!

In a shocking statement, the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy chairman Mr Suneel Puranik has alleged that the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) is 'waste body'. 

He has further said that being nominated to CBFC's advisory panel is also a waste and it is nothing but a thankless job as the members have nothing to do but to watch four movies in a day which pays them a meagre of only Rs. 1500 for doing so!

Terming the CBFC body as a 'waste', which determines the outcome of a movie for public exhibition through censorship, has taken everyone in the film industry, especially the noted filmmakers and many more who have served the body in the past by surprise. Further, the statement allegedly made by the present KCA Chairman has shocked the entire film fraternity and the others concerned.

It is learnt that Mr Suneel Puranik has allegedly made such an astonishing statement during a telephonic conversation with a journalist who had called to seek for his reaction over the latest 71 appointments made by the government to the State's CBFC's advisory panel including his own son Mr Sagar who has no experience in the movie making but for working in television and short films.

The appointment made by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to the State body's panel, has not gone well in the sandalwood, as senior filmmakers and noted personalities in the Kannada film industry have criticised the appointments as majority of the newly appointed members lack experience in movie making. They say that it is more of a politically backed appointment than based on the required qualifications.

The telephonic conversation also reveals how Mr Puranik had stopped his own son's short film from getting into a festival. However, Mr Sagar son of Puranik claims the film festival recognition as his achievements! It is also a big mystery as to how the same short film eventually won an award at the festival competition. 

Mystery continues as the questions raised over the qualifications and experience of newly nominated members to the advisory panel of State's CBFC remain unanswered.

Whether the CBFC body is a big waste or the majority of the newly appointed members for no proper qualification or the shocking statement made by the KCA chairman has certainly shook the Kannada film industry.

The Regional Board of Film Certification has been doing extra work these days and the CBFC members have watched not only more than 70 films in the month of December, but is watching nearly eight films per day in the last few days sources said.

The month of December is always hectic for the CBFC as many films will be in the queue to get censored with in the 31st of December. Likewise, this year also is very much hectic for the members of CBFC.

Karnataka Regional censor officer Smt Natasha D'souza and members have watched 70 films in the month of December, but still their work is not finished. From the last few days the members are watching nearly eight films in a single day which has made their work very hectic.

There is big trouble for Kannada films. It seems the Censor board in Bengaluru has stopped working now. After the recent controversy over Kiragurina Gayyaligalu that involved the CBFC, it looks like the censor board has stopped doing the censor for new films.

Sources told Chitraloka that the head office in Mumbai has sent an instruction to the regional censor office not the accept any applications for censor certificate till the case of Kiragoorina Gayyaligalu is solved. 

Another source said normally during the month of December and March lot of movies will come for censor certificate.

Chitraloka enquired and came to know that yesterday and today there was no films screened for censor. Usually censor members watch one or two films a day, apart from non feature films, advertisements, trailers, promos etc.

There is a case pending in the Central Administrative Tribunal or CAT against the appointment of the Regional Censor Officer DN Sreenivasappa according to sources. The case has been filed by none other than former Regional Censor Officer Nagendra Swamy. 

Sources tell Chitraloka that the case has been running for several months now. Swamy was the RCO in a term before another censor officer Natasha. According to sources when the central government department called for qualified central government officer to apply for the post, three central government officers applied for this. This included Nagendra Swamy and Sreenivasappa. Another woman officer had also applied. The woman officer however did not attend the selection meeting. Sources say that without calling for an interview of the other two candidates Srinivasappa was selected as the censor officer. This is the allegation made before the CAT by Swamy sources told Chitraloka. CAT is yet to decide on the case and the verdict is expected any time.

ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳು ಮುಗಿದು ಸಿದ್ಧವಾದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಆಗಬೇಕು. ಎ, ಯು ಅಥವಾ ಯು/ಎ ಸರ್ಟಿಫಿಕೇಟ್ ಕೊಡೊದು ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಜವಾಬ್ದಾರಿ. ಇದನ್ನು ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಎಸ್ ಅನ್ನೋ ಸರ್ಟಿಫಿಕೇಟ್ ಕೂಡಾ ಇದೆ. ಸೈಂಟಿಫಿಕ್ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಿಗೆ ಇದು ಅನ್ವಯ. ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಆಕ್ಷೇಪಾರ್ಹ ದೃಶ್ಯ, ಸಂಭಾಷಣೆ, ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಿದ್ದರೆ ಇದುವರೆಗೆ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಮಂಡಳಿ (ಸಿಬಿಎಫ್‍ಸಿ) ಕಟ್ ಅಥವಾ ಮ್ಯೂಟ್ ಮಾಡಲು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಅದನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪದೇ ಹೋದರೆ ಚಿತ್ರದವರು ಟ್ರಿಬ್ಯುನಲ್‍ಗೆ (ಎಫ್‍ಸಿಎಟಿ) ಹೋಗೋಕೆ ಅವಕಾಶವಿತ್ತು. ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಆಗದೇ ಹೋದರೆ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯದ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಓಪನ್ ಇರುತ್ತಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ, ಇನ್ನು ಮುಂದೆ ಟ್ರಿಬ್ಯುನಲ್ ಇರುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ನ್ಯಾಯಾಲಯ ಮಾತ್ರ.

ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರದ ಹೊಸ ಕಾನೂನಿಗೆ ಮಿಶ್ರ ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆಗಳು ಬಂದಿವೆ. ಟ್ರಿಬ್ಯುನಲ್ ಅಗತ್ಯವೇ ಇರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅದು ವಿವಾದಗಳನ್ನೇನೂ ಪರಿಹರಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎನ್ನುವ ವಾದ ಕೆಲವರದ್ದಾದರೆ, ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದಕ್ಕೂ ಕೋರ್ಟ್‍ಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕು ಎಂದರೆ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಬೋರ್ಡ್ ಅಗತ್ಯವಾದರೂ ಏನು..? ಕೋರ್ಟುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆಲಸಗಳು ವೇಗವಾಗಿ ಆಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದು ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದ ಪಾಲಿಗೆ ಮರಣಶಾಸನ ಎಂದು ಕೆಲವರು ವಿರೋಧ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಶಿವರಾಜ್‍ಕುಮಾರ್ ಮತ್ತು ಕಿಚ್ಚ ಸುದೀಪ್ ಅಭಿನಯದ ದಿ ವಿಲನ್ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಎ ಸರ್ಟಿಫಿಕೇಟ್ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರ ನೀಡುತ್ತೇವೆ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ಸರ್ಟಿಫಿಕೇಟ್ ಕೊಡೋಕೆ ಅವರು ನೀಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಕಾರಣಗಳಿವೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ್ಯಕ್ಷನ್ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಿವೆ. ಭಾರತೀಯರು ಬ್ರಿಟಿಷರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವ ಡೈಲಾಗ್‍ಗಳಿವೆ. ಅಂಡರ್‍ವಲ್ರ್ಡ್ ಸಬ್ಜೆಕ್ಟ್. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಎ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಪತ್ರ ಎನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು.

ಸಿ.ಆರ್.ಮನೋಹರ್ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ ಚಿತ್ರವನ್ನು ಗೌರಿಗಣೇಶ ಹಬ್ಬಕ್ಕೆ ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಲು ಸಿದ್ಧತೆ ನಡೆದಿದೆ. ರಿವೈಸಿಂಗ್ ಕಮಿಟಿ ನಿರ್ಧಾರ ಏನಾಗಲಿದೆಯೋ.. ಕಾಯಬೇಕಷ್ಟೆ.

ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗಷ್ಟೇ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಡಿ.ಎನ್. ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪ್ಪ, ವಿವಾದದಿಂದ ಸುದ್ದಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಕಾನೂನು ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಇಲ್ಲದ ರೂಲ್ಸುಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲ ಸೇರಿಸಿ, ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕರಿಂದ ಪ್ರಮಾಣಪತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಿ ಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಸುದ್ದಿಯಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಈಗಿರುವಾಗಲೇ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಹೊಸ ವಿವಾದ ಬೆಳಕಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದೆ.

ಇದೇ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪ್ಪನವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಸಿಎಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ದೂರು ದಾಖಲಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಅವರ ನೇಮಕಾತಿಯನ್ನೇ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಲಾಗಿದೆ. ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಮಂಡಳಿ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪ್ಪನವರ ನೇಮಕಾತಿ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿರುವುದು, ಇದೇ ಪ್ರಾದೇಶಿಕ ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಈ ಹಿಂದೆ ಕೆಲಸ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದ ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ.

ಚಿತ್ರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ಲಭ್ಯವಾದ ಮಾಹಿತಿಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ನಂತರ ನತಾಶಾ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು. ಇವರ ನಂತರ, ನೇಮಕಾತಿಗೆ ಕೇಂದ್ರ ಸರ್ಕಾರ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಆಹ್ವಾನಿಸಿತ್ತು. ಅರ್ಹ ಹಾಗೂ ಅನುಭವೀ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳಿಂದ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಕರೆಯಲಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಆ ಹುದ್ದೆಗೆ ಅರ್ಜಿ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸಿದ್ದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಗಳು ಮೂವರು. ಒಬ್ಬರು ಈ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪ್ಪ, ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬರು ಇವರ ವಿರುದ್ಧ ಈಗ ದೂರು ನೀಡಿರುವ ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ. ಹಾಗೂ ಮೂರನೆಯ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಹಿಳಾ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿ.

ಒಂದು ಹುದ್ದೆಗೆ ಮೂವರು ಅರ್ಜಿ ಹಾಕಿದಾಗ, ಮೂವರೂ ಅಭ್ಯರ್ಥಿಗಳ ಸಂದರ್ಶನ, ಮೌಖಿಕ ಪರೀಕ್ಷೆಗಳೆಲ್ಲ ನಡಯಬೇಕು ತಾನೇ.. ವಿವಾದ ಇರುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲಿ. ಸಂದರ್ಶನವೇ ನಡೆಯದೆ ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪ್ಪ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯಾಗಿರುವುದೇ ವಿವಾದದ ಮೂಲ. ಮೂಲಗಳ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಶ್ರೀನಿವಾಸಪ್ಪ ಅವರ ನೇಮಕದ ವೇಳೆ, ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿಯವರ ಸಂದರ್ಶನವೇ ನಡೆದಿಲ್ಲ. ಇದನ್ನೇ ಪ್ರಶ್ನಿಸಿ ನಾಗೇಂದ್ರ ಸ್ವಾಮಿ ಸಿಎಟಿ ಮೊರೆ ಹೋಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 

ಸಿಎಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹಲವು ತಿಂಗಳುಗಳಿಂದ ವಿಚಾರಣೆ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಯಾವುದೇ ದಿನ ತೀರ್ಪು ಹೊರಬೀಳಬಹುದು. ಸೆನ್ಸಾರ್ ಮಂಡಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಏನೇನೆಲ್ಲ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿದೆ ಅನ್ನೋದಕ್ಕೆ ಇದೊಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಉದಾಹರಣೆ ಮಾತ್ರ.
