Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Jnanapeetha Award winner Chandrashekhara Kambara on Monday evening released the songs of 'Ishtakamya' being composed by Ajaneesh Lokanath. 'Ishtakamya' is being directed by Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar and the audio release was held at the Jnanajyothi Auditorium in Bangalore. Along with the Chief Minister, actor-director V Ravichandran, ministers H C Mahadevappa, Mahadeva Prasad, Umasri, KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu and others were present at the occasion.

'Ishtakamya' stars Vijay Surya, Mayuri and Kavya Shetty in lead roles. B Jayashree, Mandya Ramesh, Suman Nagarkar and others play prominent roles in the film.Ravikumar Sana is the cinematographer.

Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar's latest film 'Ishtakamya' is in the post-production stage and meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be releasing the songs of the film on the 19th of April.

Director Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar and producer Shankaregowda has organised a grand audio release at the Jnanajyothi Auditorium in Bangalore on Tuesday and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will be arriving to release the audio.

Jnanapeeth Award winner Chandrashekhara Kambara, ministers H C Mahadevappa, Mahadeva Prasad, Umasri, actors Ravichandran, Shivarajakumar, KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu, KCA president S V Rajendra Singh Babu, Information Director Vishukumar and others will be present at the occasion.

The publicity designs of 'Ishtakamya' being directed by Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar was released by actor-environmentalist Suresh Hebliker on Saturday afternoon. The film stars Vijay Surya, Mayuri and Kavya Shetty in lead roles. One of the highlights of the film is, a poem of Jnanapeeth award winner Kuvempu has been used for the film. The poem which is called 'Jenaguva' has been shot in Kavishaila and other places.

Ravikumar Sana is the cameraman, while Ajaneesh Lokanath has composed the music for this film. Chikkanna, Prakash Belavadi, Rangayana Raghu, B Jayashree, Mandya Ramesh, Suman Nagarkar and others play prominent roles in the film.

Nagathihalli Chandrashekar is back with a bang. His last film Breaking News was four years ago. Before that it was Nooru Janmaku in 2010. Both these films did not have the same impact as his earlier films. But with Ishtakamya, Meshtru is back in form. It can be safely said that Ishtakamya is his best film in years. Most of his films were not only commercial hits but also critically acclaimed and won state and national awards. Ishtakamya is triangle love story. It is the kind of genre that can be as commercial as it can get. But in Nagathihalli's hand, it becomes a sensitive exploration of deeper meaning of not just love but also life. 

The film entertains not only the senses with its beautiful scenes and music but also gives food for thought with its insighful dialogues and situations. The film starts with an accident. A doctor causes the accident and takes care of the injured girl. He also gets her a job in his own hospital. As can be predicted the two fall in love. There seems to be no impediment to their love except for a nagging brother of the girl. But there is a surprise in store as it is revealed that the doctor is already married. But why did he hide his marriage? Is he cheating the new girl? Now the two girls want the doctor as their husband. It is not a regular formula that Nagathihalli employs. From here he explores the human relationship like only he can. He has ample scope for this as the film is based on a novel and there are so many aspects he can explore. 

Vijay Suriya has made a good big screen debut. Another television star Mayuri has also come out tops in her second film. Kavya Shetty is another actress to look forward to in Sandalwood. The good acting by these three along with other seasoned actors like Rangayana Raghu, Mandya Ramesh, Chikkanna and others gives the film a solid standing. On the technical front, the cinematography by Ravi Kumar Sana is breathtaking. There are some wonderful locations. Most of the shooting is done outdoors which is pleasing to the eyes. Another star of the film is music director  Ajaneesh Loknath. He has given some excellent tunes which are soft on the ears and add value to the film. 

Overall Ishtakamya is an entertaining as well as stimulating film. The old Nagathihalli Chandrashekar is back and it makes you want to see the film.

Director Nagathihalli Chandrashekar, has brought one of the most popular folk singers of India, Mukhtiyar Ali to sing for his new film Ishtakamya. Ali is a traditional folk singer and his family has been folk singers for 23 generations.

Nagathihalli is returning to direction after taking a break for three years.

Actress Suman Nagarkar who is now settled in America and has silently acted in two Kannada films during her vacation in Bangalore. Yes, the actress who had come on a vacation has acted in Sunil Kumar Desai's 'Yakshaprashne' and Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar's 'Ishtakamya'. Both are small roles and the actress says she acted in both the films because of the directors. Suman shasres a good rapport with both the directors and had earned a good name in their films.

Suman who says she will definitely act if she gets good roles has flown back to America after finishing her vacation.
