Karunada Chakravarthy and Hat-trick hero Dr. Shivarajkumar reveals that he was a part of a group of five best friends during his school days while studying class 3. Shivanna fondly recalls that they were referred to as 'five'.

Shivanna was speaking during the teaser launch of his upcoming movie 'Drona', wherein he plays the role of a school teacher. The movie emphasizes on the present educational system.

"Of the gang of five best friends, three were three girls and two were boys including me and another who is by name Venkatesh. I'm talking about the 70s and not even 80s. It was a great time back then. I occasionally meet Venkatesh but the girls are all married and I guess even their childrens too," Shivanna said.

Karunada Chakravarthy Dr. Shivarajkumar who was missing in action for over a month since he was recovering post surgery on his shoulder, is set to return for shooting from September 10.

Shivanna will start shooting for Harsha's third venture with him for 'Bhajarangi 2'. According to sources, the choreographer turned director, A Harsha has erected a grand set for the shooting of Bhajarangi 2 at a studio in Bengaluru, as Shivanna has given his green signal for the shooting from next Tuesday.

Insofar as Shivanna's health is considered, the century star has recovered well post surgery, and was even seen dancing to his popular number from Tagaru at a public event recently.

He underwent surgery in the month of July on his right shoulder in London. Sources close to the actor revealed that Shivanna recovered fast and was seen moving his right arm swiftly the very next day after the surgery. They further add that he is these undergoing physiotherapy and that apart he is back to routine exercises including weight lifts.

‪Hattrick Hero Shivarajkumar will be the chief guest at the Kannada Rajyotsava function to be held at Muscat, the capital of Oman on January 18. He will be going to Muscat on January 16 to take part in the event.

Shivanna had agreed to go to the function last year itself but had to abandon it at the last minute due to the illness of his brother Raghavendra Rajkumar. The Kannada sangha at Muscat was started in 2002 and has been regularly conducting Rajyotsava and other cultural events to keep their bond with Kannada and Karnataka. Artistes from various fields of arts are regularly invited to Muscat.

The trailer launch of Killing Veerappan on Shivarajkumar's birthday today had some surprise in store. Not only has director Ram Gopal Verma released the trailer in Kannada but also Tamil and Telugu today confirming that the film is being made in all three languages.

This will be the first time that a Rajkumar family actor will be seen in Tamil and Telugu films. But from the promos themselves it seems portions involving Shivanna may be dubbed in other languages. In the Kannada promo Shivanna can be seen talking in Kannada. In the Tamil and Telugu versions, Shivanna talking in Kannada towards the last few seconds has been deleted.

Another speculation is that the characters may speak Kannada and Tamil depending on the situation as hunt for Veerappan was by both Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. But that still leaves out Telugu in which both Kannada and Tamil will have to be dubbed. As of now it seems Shivanna has acted only in Kannada version.

Shivarajkumar will be sporting the Teddy-Boy hairstyle in his new film Tagaru directed by Duniya Suri. Shivanna has tried many different styles in his previous films over the years but this is the first time with a Teddy-boy style.

This style is trendy around the world and in the more recent years it was made famous by English football star David Beckham. Tagaru has a huge cast of actors and Suri has said that he would present each one differently in a way they were not seen before in any of their films. He is keeping to his promise as we can see.

Shivarajakumar is currently busy with the shooting of Bangara - S/O Bangarada Manushya. Meanwhile, three of his films are set to be launched in the month of August. Particularly, three films will be launched in a span of 10 days.

The first among the three is 'The Villain' to be directed by Prem. The film will be launched on the auspicious day of Varamahalakshmi festival, which will be followed by 'Leader'. 'Leader' will be launched on the 18th of this month. Suri's 'Tagaru' which was supposed to be launched on the 21st of this month has been postponed for a day and the film will be launched on the 22nd of August.

Of the three films, 'The Villain' will be shot later. Shivarajakumar will first juggle between 'Leader' and 'Tagaru' and after finishing his portions in both the films, he will be moving on to 'The Villain'.

Sandalwood film journalists and critics have come forward to constitute a Critics Awards. Kannada film journalists have launched the launch vehicle 'Chandanavana Film Critics Academy,' for the purpose. Century Star Shivarajkumar launched the Academy logo on Tuesday morning. 

Renowned producer Rockline Venkatesh, KFCC President K Jairaj and Kannada Film Directors Association president Dr. V Nagendra Prasad graced the event. The 'Kannada Film Critics Awards,' will be a three-month-process and the awards function is scheduled for January 2020.

The event was attended by senior Kannada film journalists including Chitraloka editor K M Veeresh, and its jury members for the award events.

Hat Trick hero Shivarajakumar said that such an award from none other than the critics would boost the morale and encourage actors, filmmakers and technician. "It is nice to see that the Kannada film journalists have come together for this unique Academy. I myself have been closely associated with the film journalists since my debut and it has been a great pleasure knowing almost every Kannada film journalists up in close. I wish the Academy a great success and I am always there for its support," he said.

Rockline Venkatesh too wished the Academy and extended complete support from producers and artists association, and so does Nagendra Prasad and Jairaj from Kannada Film Director's Association and Kannada Film Chamber of Commerce respectively.

Karunada Chakravarthy Dr. Shivarajkumar is undoubtedly one of the most humble and down to earth actors who believes in simplicity. Of all the qualities despite being a star actor and son of Kannada thespian late Dr. Rajkumar, Shivanna time and again proves why he is such a great human being too. 

He is also true to the saying in Kannada - 'Yedagaiyalli kotta daana balagaiyige gottagabardu', which means the true donar always prefers to remain anonymous.

In an age every donation or help is publicised and blown out of proportion, Shivanna believes in following in his legendary father's footsteps. 

In a video which has emerged on the social media, it is now learnt that Shivanna had paid up to Rs 28 lakhs from his own pocket for the release of at least 26 inmates lodged in a Mysuru prison in the year 1988.

According to the video, one Mr Gopal says that Shivanna who had come for the shooting of 'Mruthyunjaya' film at Mysuru prison had paid Rs. 3 lakhs for his release after he shared about his story and his inability to even pay the court fine for his release.

He adds that Shivanna also paid for the release of at least 26 such inmates including him, which amounted to at least Rs. 28 lakh back then in 1988!!

Gopal was in jail in connection with a murder case at an age of 16. He was sentenced to ten years in jail and finally his release was set at Rs 3 lakhs as fine. After Shivanna paid for his release, the resident of Mylarpatna in Nagamangala taluk of Mandya district lives his life peacefully as an auto rickshaw driver.

The video has gone viral on social media while Hat-trick hero fans are overwhelmed by such acts of their favorite actor.

Dwarakish Chitra, which started with its first ever venture 'Mayor Muthanna' in the year 1969 is celebrating its grand 50th year, and it continues to enthrall the Kannada audience as it is set for one more exciting venture - Ayushmanbhava, releasing on November 1.

In 'Mayor Muthanna', it was the legendary Dr. Rajkumar and on turning 50, the prestigious production house turns to none other than Karunada Chakravarthy Dr. Shivarajkumar, son of the legendary actor. The official teaser of the film which is out now is trending on top on social media, and promises to be another sure shot hit for the Century Star.

Director P Vasu seems to have raised the bars with some extra action and suspense in Ayushmanbhava along with some brilliant visual effects for an edge of the seat experience.

With less than a month for the release, Ayushmanbhava is certainly roaring to hit the screens.

In the 80s, Kannada thespian Dr. Rajkumar was the face of Gokak Chaluvali, along with several prominent personalities including writers, and now his eldest son has extended his full support for the fight for recognizing Tulu as an official language to be included in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India.

While addressing Tulu speaking community, Shivanna has said that he will stand with them in the fight for due recognition of Tulu language.

Along with Shivanna, the twitter campaign has gained support from politicians and celebrities.

The campaign urge the Karnataka and Kerala State to recognize Tulu as an official language, and to include it into Eighth Schedule of the Constitution.

The month of July has always been a great joy for millions of Karunada Chakravarthy fans. However, this time, they will be slightly disappointed as their favorite hat-trick hero Dr. Shivarajakumar will be out of station, to get his shoulder treated in London.

"Every year on July 12, all my fans would come visit me at my place and they would celebrate my birthday very joyously. I always cherish their unconditional love. However, I am going to miss them this year as I will not be at home. I am disappointed as much as my fans," Shivanna says.

Shivanna will head to London, for his shoulder treatment which is scheduled on July 9 and thereafter he will rest for more than a month.

He signs off saying that he is planning to spend some time with his family and visit temples and other places during the month long break.

Actor Shivarajakumar is all set to portray a negative character in a new file to be directed by Yogi G Raj and produced by Karthik Gowda of KRG Studios. Shivarajakumar himself has confirmed of acting in a negative character during 'Ayushmanbhava' press meet.

Shivarajakumar has said that he is tired of doing only good roles and wants to portray a villainous role. Shivarajakumar also has said that Yogi is busy with a suitable screenplay and the new film is likely to be launched early next year.

After overseeing the release of his latest release Shivalinga today, Shivarajkumar will be heading to the abode of Lord Shiva's son Aiyappa at Shabarimale on Monday. This is an annual pilgrimage Shivanna has been undertaking for many years. In the last decade, Shivanna has made it a custom to wear the same religious shirt that Dr Rajkumar wore on his last pilgrimage to Shabarimale.

Shivanna will be going with a group of friends who have undertaken the trip for years with him now.

Karunada Chakravarthy Dr. Shivarajkumar has been admitted to Mallya hospital on Sunday night, and he is being treated for viral fever.

Shivanna who has been relentlessly shooting for Rustum and Drona films, was down with fever on Sunday evening. He was later admitted to the hospital after his body's temperature kept increasing.

According to the hospital, Shivanna is recovering and could be discharged later in the day. The Century Star had his breakfast and he is interacting with his family members, doctors say.

Several personalities both from the film industry and politics including Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy are expected to visit the hat-trick hero. Chitraloka wishes Shivanna a speedy recovery.

On Tuesday night Shuvarajkumar flew to Italy with the crew of both Vajrakaya and Shivalinga. Shooting of songs for both the film will be shot in the same trip over the next one week. A song for Vajrakaya directed by A Harsha will be shot first.

This film is produced by CR Manohar. The second film Shivalinga is produced by Suresh who made films like Shravani Subramanya and Govindaya Namaha. Both the producers decided on a joint foreign trip for their films to save on costs and logistics. It also helped that Harsha is the choreographer for Shivalinga also. The team will return on April 2. The teamwork between two different films is a welcome development in Sandalwood.

Karunada Chakravarthy Dr. Shivarajkumar has been a lucky charm for Sandalwood with highest success rate of films, and now he is coming with 'RDX' to set the screens on fire. 

It is not any explosive we are talking, but the title of his latest film announced, which is going to be produced by Satyajoyothi films which has made some hit films in Tamil including Vishwasam starring Ajith.

Also, with this Ravi Arasu, a popular Tamil filmmaker is making his debut in Sandalwood with RDX. He will direct RDX. He is known for his films - Inaagaaran and Vetti. RDX is expected to go on the floors post Bhajarangi 2.

The new film of Shivanna, Bangara, S/o Bangarada Manushya starts next week. The muharat of the film will be held on next Friday 15th January 2016. The date was finalised on Saturday after Shivanna had a meeting with producers Jayanna and Bhogendra.

The film is directed by Yogi G Raj under Jayanna Combines banner. Since it is auspicious Sankranti, the muharata will be held that day. However shooting will commence once Shivanna completes shooting for Srikanta which is expected in 3-4 weeks.

Meanwhile Shivanna's Killing Veerappan is doing great business at box office. Shivalinga and Santa Kabir will release in the next couple of months.

Shivanna's next film Rustum to be directed by stunt master Ravi Verma in his directorial debut is set to begin on Dr Rajkumar's birthday on April 24. The film is being made under the Jayanna-Bhogendra Combines.

Slowly the technicians of the film are being finalized. Naveen Kumar who made an impact with Mufti is the cinematographer while Anoop Seelin is the music composer.

Though the Muharat for the film will be done on April 24 the actual shooting will start a month later as Shivanna has to complete his pending projects like The Villain, Kavacha and SRK.

Kannada Super Star Shivaraj Kumar's birthday celebrations started just after the stroke of twelve in midnight on Thursday morning (July 12), when thousands of  the actor's fans who had come all over the state started their frenzied slogan shouting hailing the actor.  A big cake was brought in by the fans of Shivaraj Kumar from Kethamaranahalli, a suburb of  Bengaluru and placed before the actor.  The actor cut the birthday cake and shared a few slices with his family members also.

Vinay Raghjavendra Raj Kumar, son of the actor's younger brother Raghavendra Raj Kumar was also present during the occasion.

Shivaraj Kumar wanted to keep his 50th birthday affair as low key, but his fans had other ideas.  They have planned various activities like Blood Donation programmes, helping out Aids inflicted kids and other programmes.

The successful pair of Shivarajakumar and Bhavana from 'Tagaru' is all set to team up again. This time the duo will be acting as a pair in a new film called 'My Name is Anji'.

'My Name Is Anji' and will be directed by choreographer turned director A Harsha. This is the third time that Harsha and Shivarajakumar are teaming up together after 'Bhajarangi' and 'Vajrakaya'. 

The film is being produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra under Jayanna Combines banner. The film will be launched after Shivarajakumar completes his previous commitments.
