ಮಂತ್ರಂ. ಕನ್ನಡದ ಹೊಸ ಹಾರರ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ಇದೇ ವಾರ ತೆರೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಚಿತ್ರ. ಈ ಹಾರರ್ ಸಿನಿಮದಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಹಾರರ್ ಕಥೆಯಿದೆ. ಏನು ಗೊತ್ತಾ..? ಈ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ನಡೆದಿರುವುದು ರಾಯಚೂರಿನ ದೌಲತ್‍ಮಹಲ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ.

ಅದು ಇಂದು ನಿನ್ನೆಯದಲ್ಲ. ಸುಮಾರು 250 ವರ್ಷ ಹಳೆಯ ಬಂಗಲೆ. ಆ ಬಂಗೆಲೆಯೇ ದೆವ್ವದ ಮನೆಯಂತೆ. ಅದು ಖಾಜಾಗೌಡರ ಬಂಗಲೆ. ಆ ಬಂಗಲೆಯಲ್ಲಿ 50 ಕೋಣೆಗಳಿವೆ. 100 ಕಿಟಕಿಗಳೂ, 50 ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳೂ ಇವೆ. ಕತ್ತಲಾದರೆ,ಒಬ್ಬರೇ ಓಡಾಡೋಕೆ ಭಯವಾಗುವಂತಿದೆ.

ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ತೊಂದರೆಗಳಾಗಿರುವುದು ನಿಜ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಸಜ್ಜನ್. ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಅಮರ್ ಚೌಧರಿಯವರಿಗೆ ಇದು ಮೊದಲ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ನನ್ನ ಮೊದಲ ಸಿನಿಮಾನೇ ಸಿಕ್ಕಾಪಟ್ಟೆ ಹಾರರ್ ಆಗಿರಬೇಕು ಎಂದು ಬಯಸಿದ್ದೆ, ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಬಂದಿದೆ ಎಂಬ ಖುಷಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾರೆ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಚೌಧರಿ.

Last Friday the horror film Chandrika released and is doing good business. This Friday another horror film Tammisra is releasing. But this is only the beginning. There are some 15 to 20 horror films that are in various stages of production in Sandalwood. Even big stars are getting into horror with Upendra's next said to be Kalpana 2, the sequel to the horror film Kalpana. 

Other horror films coming up include Alone, Naani, Danger Zone, Dhigbhayam, Jwalantam, Shiradi Ghat, Kanchana and Last Bus. 

Meanwhile the horror film that is leading this pack is doing good at the box office. Chandrika collected Rs 1.15 lakh in Abhinay theatre on its opening day Friday. Many people who did not want to release Kannada films released in that theatre were surprised. There were no shows on Saturday due to the Karnataka bandh. On Sunday the film collected Rs 1.5 lakh from Abhinaya. The film is also maintaining good collections in the rest of the theatres in Bengaluru and Karnataka. This could prove helpful to other horror films that are coming up for release.

Chandrika staring Karthik Jayaram, Srimukhi, Kamna Jethmalani, Girish Karnad and others is an entertaining film in the horror genre. But it is not only about horror, the film also has family drama and lots of entertainment. 

Director Yogesh combines good aspects of story and narration. JK plays a painter. He buys the house of his teacher. He and his wife go to live there. But there is something sinister lurking inside. Srimukhi is possessed and JK seems to know of a past that even he cannot fully comprehend.

The film is also a musical with Gunwanth coming up with some melodious tunes.

JK gives a wonderful performance but it is  Srimukhi who steals the show with her performance. She is glamorous when it is needed and scary when required. Girish Karnad has one of the best roles.

Chandrika reminds of Apthamitra and follows a similar trajectory in screenplay. The film can be watched by the entire family as it has  UA certificate. Go enjoy and get scared and entertained.

J Karthik's most ambitious film 'Chandrika' is all set to release on the 24th of September. The film is produced by V Asha under the Flying Wheels Productions house. 'Chandrika' is a horror film being made in Kannada as well as Telugu. The film is directed by Yogeesh Munisiddappa, while Gunvanth has scored the music. K Rajendra Babu is the cameraman of the film.

The film stars Kamna Jethmalani, Girish Karnad, Uday, Chikkanna and others along with Karthik.

Director Narendra Babu has returned with a horror film. The director is best known for his film Pallakki with Nenapirali Prem. That was a pure romantic film including his other films Yuva and O Gulabiye. This movie is produced by C Venkatesh. This time he has made a horror film. It is no ordinary horror film. Most horror films make use of night effect to create scary situations. It is not easy to show horror scenes in day time or in outdoor locations. This is what Narendra Babu has done with this film. There are very few  horror films worldwide which have been shot in outdoor locations during daytime. #9 Hilton House is one such exception which makes use of daylight. It is not an easy thing to do. But those who have seen the film say Babu has succeeded. 

There is also no use of blood or violence in the film to show horror. A mobile phone is used as an important prop in the film. The film has been shot in Kushalnagar, Madikeri, Ramanagara and Chikkamagalur. There is a film inside the film. The plot revolvs around a film team which is haunted by escaped souls. Kiran, Divya Rao, Vandana and Prajna are in the main roles. AT Ravish has scored the music while Girdhar Divan has composed the background score. Santhosh has handled the camera while the editing is by Girish. 

The current trend in Sandalwood is of horror films and many horror films have been released off late. This week's release 'Tale Bachkolli Powder Hachkolli' comes as a fresh air with lot of entertainment ingredients tucked in it.

'Tale Bachkolli Powder Hachkolli' tells the story of two youths Jayasurya (Vikram Arya) and Indra (Chikkanna) who plans to commit suicide unable to face their personal problems. Somehow they are saved and given a job of Loan Recovery agents of a bank. They are given an assignment to recover a big loan from an underworld don. What all does the duo do to recover the loan from the don must be seen in theaters near you.

The title suggests that it is a comic film. However, 'TBPH' cannot be termed as a comedy film alone. The first half of the film is comic and the second half turns to be a serious with loads of sentiments. While the first half makes the people laugh, the second half surely turns the audience sentimental.

Vikram Arya makes his debut through this film and he has done a commendable job in his first film itself. Arya's acting and dancing skill are quite promising. Chikkanna does a good job. However, it is Shobharaj who does a wonderful job in acting. Bullet Prakash is wasted. Nikitha and Aman Grewal has nothing much to do. Vijayabharathi's songs are wonderfully picturised by cameraman Manu.

ನಮ್ ದುನಿಯಾ ನಮ್ ಸ್ಟೈಲ್ ಚಿತ್ರದಿಂದ ಬೆಳ್ಳಿತೆರೆಗೆ ಬಂದ ಮಿಲನ ನಾಗರಾಜ್, ಹಲವು ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅಕ್ಕ-ತಂಗಿಯ ಕಥೆ ಇದೆ. ನನ್ನ ಜೊತೆ ಅಮೃತಾ ಅಯ್ಯಂಗಾರ್ ಎಂಬ ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬ ನಾಯಕಿಯಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಸಮಾನ ಅವಕಾಶವಿದೆ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಮಿಲನ ನಾಗರಾಜ್.

ಕಿರಣ್ ತಲಕಾಡು ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಒಂದು ಹಂತದ ಚಿತ್ರೀಕರಣ ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಮುಗಿದಿದೆ.

ಗೋಲ್ಡನ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಗಣೇಶ್, ನಾಗಣ್ಣ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಹಾರರ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾವೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆಯಷ್ಟೆ. ಈಗ ಆ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನಾಯಕಿಯ ಆಯ್ಕೆಯೂ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಪಂಜಾಬ್‍ನ ರೋನಿಕಾ ಸಿಂಗ್ ಎಂಬ ಹುಡುಗಿ, ಗಣೇಶ್‍ಗೆ ನಾಯಕಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಪಂಜಾಬಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಮ್ತಾ ಜೋಗಿ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿರುವ ಈ ಚೆಲುವೆಗೆ ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಇದು ಮೊದಲ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ಇಂದು ಹಾರರ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಶೂಟಿಂಗ್ ಶುರುವಾಗಲಿದ್ದು, ಚಿತ್ರತಂಡ ಬಹುತೇಕ ತಾಂತ್ರಿಕ ವರ್ಗದ ಬಗ್ಗೆ, ಕಲಾವಿದರ ಬಗ್ಗೆ ಸೀಕ್ರೆಟ್ ಕಾಯ್ದುಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.

ಗೋಲ್ಡನ್ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ಗಣೇಶ್, ಮುಂಗಾರು ಮಳೆಯಿಂದ ಅಮರಪ್ರೇಮಿಯಾದವರು. ಅದಕ್ಕೂ ಮುನ್ನ ಕಾಮಿಡಿ ಟೈಂ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಆಗಿದ್ದವರು. ಶಾಲೆ, ಕಾಲೇಜು ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಎಚ್ಚಮನಾಯಕನ ಪಾತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಿಂಚುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರು. ಆದರೆ, ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಹೃದಯಕ್ಕೆ ಕೈ ಹಾಕುವ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದರೇ ಹೊರತು, ಹೃದಯ ಬಡಿತವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಲೇ ಇಲ್ಲ. ಈಗ ಅಂಥಾದ್ದೊಂದು ಅವಕಾಶ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಅವರನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದಿದೆ.

ಗಣೇಶ್, ಇದೇ ಮೊದಲ ಬಾರಿಗೆ ನಾಗಣ್ಣ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸೋಕೆ ಯೆಸ್ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದು ಹಾರರ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ಅರ್ಥಾತ್ ಭಯ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುವ ಚಿತ್ರ. 

ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಆರೆಂಜ್ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಯುಸಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದರೆ, ನಾಗಣ್ಣ ಕುರುಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಯುಸಿ. ಜೂನ್ ಕೊನೆಯ ವಾರದಲ್ಲಿ ಗಣೇಶ್ ಹಾರರ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಸೆಟ್ಟೇರುವ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ ಇದೆ.

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಸ್ಟಾರ್ ನಿರ್ಮಾಪಕ ಪುಷ್ಕರ್ ಮಲ್ಲಿಕಾರ್ಜುನಯ್ಯ ಹೊಸ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗೆ ಗ್ರೀನ್ ಸಿಗ್ನಲ್ ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದ ಟೈಟಲ್ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮರಾಕ್ಷಸ. ಗೋಧಿಬಣ್ಣ ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಮೈಕಟ್ಟು, ಕಿರಿಕ್ ಪಾರ್ಟಿ, ಅವನೇ ಶ್ರೀಮನ್ನಾರಾಯಣ, ಹಂಬಲ್ ಪೊಲಿಟಿಷಿಯನ್ ನೊಗ್ರಾಜ್..ನಂತಹ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ನಿರ್ಮಿಸಿರೋ ಪುಷ್ಕರ್, ಈಗ 777 ಚಾರ್ಲಿ, ಭೀಮಸೇನ ನಳಮಹರಾಜ, ಅವತಾರ್ ಪುರುಷದಂತಹ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬ್ಯುಸಿ. ಹೀಗಿದ್ದುಕೊಂಡೇ ಬ್ರಹ್ಮರಾಕ್ಷಸನಾಗಲು ಹೊರಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಪುಷ್ಕರ್.

ಮಮ್ಮಿ, ದೇವಕಿ ಚಿತ್ರಗಳ ಮೂಲಕ ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ ಎಂದು ಗುರುತಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಎಂ.ಲೋಹಿತ್, ಬ್ರಹ್ಮರಾಕ್ಷಸ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕ. ಇದೂ ಕೂಡಾ ಹಾರರ್ ಥ್ರಿಲ್ಲರ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಲೋಹಿತ್.

ಇದೇ ವಾರ ತೆರೆಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವ ಹಾರರ್ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಂಜರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಶಾಕ್ ಟ್ರೀಟ್‍ಮೆಂಟ್‍ಗಳಿವೆಯಂತೆ. ಸರಳ ಕಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಕಾಮಿಡಿ, ಸೆಂಟಿಮೆಂಟ್ ಎಲ್ಲವೂ ಇದೆ. ಆದರೆ, ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕಥೆಯ ಪ್ರಮುಖ ಎಳೆ ಹಾರರ್. ರೂಪಿಕಾ ವಿಭಿನ್ನವಾಗಿ ಭಯ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುವಂತೆ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ಯಾಂಪಲ್‍ಗಳೂ ಇವೆ.

ಒಂದೂವರೆ ವರ್ಷದ ಗ್ಯಾಪ್ ನಂತರ ಬಂದಿರುವ ರೂಪಿಕಾ, ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಮುದ್ದಿನ ಮುಖದಲ್ಲೇ ಭಯ ಹುಟ್ಟಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ತಮ್ಮ ಆಕರ್ಷಕ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನು ಅದ್ಭುತವಾಗಿ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಣ್ಣಾಮುಚ್ಚೆ ಕಾಡೇಗೂಡೇ ಎಂದ ಪದದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶುರುವಾಗುವ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಟ್ರೇಲರ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಅಂತಹ ಶಾಕ್ ಟ್ರೀಟ್‍ಮೆಂಟ್ ದೃಶ್ಯಗಳಿವೆ. ಇನ್ನು ಇಡೀ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಗಿರಬಹುದು ಅನ್ನೋದು ಕುತೂಹಲ. 

ಹಾರರ್ ಚಿತ್ರ ಪ್ರೇಮಿಗಳು, ಆಗಾಗ್ಗೆ ತಾವು ಧೈರ್ಯವಂತರು ಎಂದು ಸಾಬೀತು ಪಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಇಚ್ಚಿಸುವವರು.. ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ಧುತ್ತನೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯಕ್ಷವಾಗುವ ರೂಪಿಕಾರನ್ನು ನೋಡಲು ಚಿತ್ರಮಂದಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಬನ್ನಿ.
