Preetam Gubbi directed Boxer is being planned to be released for Deepavali, sources said. However the film has not yet been Censored yet and is only now being applied. The film stars Dhananjay in the lead and is one of the rare films with boxing as a backdrop.

The last such film was Puneeth's Maurya. Kruthika Jayaram is the heroine of the film which is produced by Jayanna-Bhogendra and has music by V Harikrishna. The film was completed two months ago but it avoided release immediately as there were an unprecedented number of films releasing in the last two months.

Around 25 Kannada films have released in the last two months and Boxer avoided this rush. Now it is set to be the first to get ready for a Depavali release.

Kruthika Jayakumar, the actress who has drawn attention with her performance in Preetham Gubbi directed boxer is getting new offers in Kannada. Even though she is from Bengaluru, her first two films were in Telugu.

Now after the release of Boxer, Kannada film makers are turning to her. One of them is director Nagchandra. Kruthika has been approached to play the heroine in his new film Jogi Gudda which has Dharma Keerthiraj as the hero. Shooting for the film starts next month.

Writer turned director Preetham Gubbi who is looking forward for the release of his 'Boxer' has silently started yet another new film. Preetham is introducing a new hero called Prithvi through this untitled film.

Prithvi is none other that late music director G K Venkatesh's grandson. Prithvi is an engineering graduate and is trained in acting, stunts and dancing. Prithvi plays a bike racer in this film.

Prakash Rai plays a prominent role in this film along with Achyuth Kumar, Sadhu Kokila, Achyuth Kumar, Rangayana Raghu and others. V Harikrishna is the music director while Preetha is in charge of camera.
