After a long gap Dr Vishnuvardhan's fans were in a joyous mood as the trailer of Nagarahavu was released on Monday night at the Bhumika Theater in Bangalore. Director Kodi Ramakrishna, Peter, actress Ramya, music director Gurukiran, producers Sallauddin and Sajid Quereshi were there for the release of the trailer and the dignitaries found it very hard to release the trailer because the fans of Vishnuvardhan thronged the stage and was eager for the first look of the film.

Kodi Ramakrishna said he wanted to do a film with Dr Vishnuvardhan when he was alive, but couldn't do due to various reasons. Kodi Ramakrishna was happy that his desire to do a film with Vishnuvardhan has finally been fulfilled.

One of sandalwood's finest heist-thriller - Nishkarsha which completes 25 years, is back in the digital format with better picture quality and sound, and the rest remains unchanged with an experience of a lifetime on the silver screen from the maverick filmmaker, Sunil Kumar Desai.

Produced by actor turned politician B C Patil, a first from his home banner Srushti Films, has now re-released the film to celebrate 25 years of the film since it was first released in the year 1993, which is a class apart, for various special reasons.

At a time when romance and drama ruled the industry, Sunil Kumar Desai struck another gold after Tarka. It was a different experience for the audience back then as Nishkarsha is a complete action thriller with no songs or dance, which was till then a must in the movies.

The digital format has done justice to the original film without disturbing the real essence and gives today's audience a golden opportunity to feel the experience from the past which has stood the test of time. This is another reason why the film has been one of the hot favourites for television screening till date.

For the present generation audience who would have missed the action on TV, this one is inspired by a Hollywood action thriller but Sunil Kumar Desai adapted it with a completely new dimension to it. The credit goes to B C Patil, who had not only dared to produce such a movie which was a challenge by itself with the making but also featuring in the antagonist's role. 

Another reason to watch Nishkarsha on the big screen is because of the huge star cast, starting from Sahasasimha Dr. Vishnuvardhan who played the role of a Commando is simply one of the best in his career. Dr Vishnuvardhan's family which has got land from the Government for Dr Vishnuvardhan Memorial near Mysore has decided to not to hold any activities on Vishnuvardhan's birthday (September 18th) in the existing site in Abhiman Studio in Bangalore.

Every year, on Vishnuvardhan's birthday his family used to hold various activities including health check up camps and others. The family was however frustrated by the legal problems involving the land and had applied for new space in Mysore. The Government has already allotted five acres of land to the Vishnuvardhan's family in Mysore. So, the family has decided not to hold any activities nor celebrations at Abhiman Studio.

The shooting for producer K Manju's son Shreyas's debut film as a hero 'Paddehuli' is complete and a song of the film was released at the Kalavidara Sangha Auditorium on Saturday afternoon.

The song has been dedicated to Dr Vishnuvardhan and the song has been shot in the fort of Chitradurga. Shreyas is seen in angry young man look in this song. The song is composed by Ajaneesh Lokanath.

'PaddeHuli' is the remake of Tamil hit 'Meesaya Murukku' which was released last year. The film is being produced by M Ramesh Reddy under the Tejaswini Enterprises banner. The Postal Department of the Government of India on September 18th released a postal cover in memory of Dr Vishnuvardhan's 70th bir0.

Earlier, the Postal Department had released a stamp in the memory of Dr Vishnuvardhan during the Centenary celebrations of Indian cinema. Vishnuvardhan was one among the 50 iconic personalities of Indian cinema and the only actor representing Kannada cinema. Now a postal cover has been released on the occasion of the actor's 70th birthday.

The event was held at the General Postal Office building in Bangalore. Actor-director 'Jogi' Prem, Dr Vishnu Sena Samithi president Veerakaputra Srinivas and others were present during the occasion.

The Postal Department of the Government of India had earlier released stamps in memory of Dr Rajakumar and Dr Vishnuvardhan. Now the Postal department is all set to release a postal cover in memory of Dr Vishnuvardhan's 70th birth anniversary.

The Kannada film industry is often poorly represented on postal stamps and covers and apart for a couple of instances, not much representation has been given to Kannada film industry compared to its contemporaries.

Now a special postal cover to mark the 70th birth anniversay of Dr Vishnuvardhan is all set to be released today evening. The event is organised at the General Postal Office building in Bangalore and many philatelists and celebrities from Kannada film industry are expected to be apart of this event.  

If everything had gone right, then he teaser of Aniruddh's new film 'Raja Simha' was supposed to be released on September 06th on the occasion of Aniruddh's wife Keerthi's birthday. 

Due to the death of journalist Gauri Lankesh, the event is postponed and now the teaser will be be released on Dr Vishnuvardhan's birthday (September 18) at his residence in Jayanagar on Monday.

It was the year 1993, when director Sunil Kumar Desai along with B C Patil, a police officer turned actor, filmmaker and now a politician created this masterpiece starring Sahasasimha Dr. Vishnuvardhan, Anantnag, B C Patil, Prakash Raj, Suman Nagarkar, Ramesh Bhat in the lead roles. 

Speaking to Chitraloka, the producer of Nishkarsha, B C Patil revealed that the film which won three state awards for the year 1993-94 including best film, best screenplay and best sound recording will be re-released on September 20 in an upgraded digital version, be it sound or the overall viewing experience. He goes onto add that he is thrilled to watch it again on the big screen. It is being released and distributed through the popular Jayanna films.

Inspired by Hollywood's Die Hard movie, Sunil Kumar Desai's Nishkarsha is arguably one of his finest in his career. Produced under the banner of B C Patil's Srushti Films, the thriller ran to packed houses for several weeks and it is still one of the most popular movies, which is frequently aired on the small screen on demand. 

Along with the impressive screenplay, it was indeed a big challenge for Mr. Desai to create a thriller of such magnitude back then. With the then available technology and overcoming the logistic challenges, Nishkarsha surprised everyone with its exemplary output. Later, it was even remade in Telugu.

Dr Vishnuvardhan's birthday (September 18th) is just a month away and this time Dr Vishnu Sena Samithi has organised a three day theatre festival in Bangalore.

In the past few years, Dr Vishnu Sena Samithi has organising special programs on Vishnuvardhan's birthday and this time has organised a three day theatre festival starting from September 18th. Many well known theatre groups will be participating in the festival and will be presenting their plays. Apart from that, there will be musical programs and photo exhibition of Dr Vishnuvardhan also. Many celebrities will be felicitated during the occasion.

Actor Sudeep has come forward and has congratulated Dr Vishnu Sena Samithi for organisingg such an event. Sudeep has tweeted regarding this and has said that it is a very meaningful program and wished success for the theatre festival.

The late Vishnuvardhan is still a Kotigobba when it comes to the box office. His new film, Nagarahavu, in which he has been digitally recreated has collected Rs 6.5 crores at the box office in the first four days of its release.

There is a huge turnout of women audience for the film since Monday and it is expected to collect at least Rs 3 crore more in the rest of the week. The first week collection is therefore expected to be around the region of Rs 9.5 crore for the first week.  This kind of collection shows the love for Vishnuvardhan that is still alive in the film audience.

The huge budget film was also released in Telugu and Tamil on the same day and the collection details from there is still awaited.
The Rs 9.5 crore box-office collection is for Kannada alone.

The 2017 edition of the Vishnuvardhan Cup cricket tournament will start on February 12 and go on till April 9. This is the 15th edition of the tournament started by the late actor Dr Vishnuvardhan.

Vishnuvardhan was a huge cricket fan and his team Sneha Loka was very popular in the tournaments in Bengaluru and started organising this tournament. The cup was named after Vishnuvardhan after his death. A total of 16 teams are playing in the tournament including many corporate teams. However the film actors team is not participating this time.

The matches will be held every Sunday and will start at the National College Grounds on February 12. The semi-final matches are scheduled for March 26 and April 2. The finals will be held on April 9. The Vishnuvardhan Cup trophy is one of the biggest in sports standing 6 ft tall. 

Producers K Manju, B Vijay Kumar and Vishnuvardhan fans association president Prasanna have decided to fund the late actor's memorial that will be built at Abhiman Studio. Five years after the actor's death his memorial is still pending due to problem with the land marked for it. Vishnuvardhan was cremated at Abhiman Studio but due to legal problem with the land there the government allotted two acres nearby. But even this land faced legal problem due to it being forest land. Last week it was decided to shift the memorial to Mysuru. But all the fans opposed it.

Now producers and fans of Vishnuvardhan have decided to build the memorial at Abhiman Studio itself.

Vishnuvardhan Dhyana Mandira will come up soon. After the decision of Dr Vishnuvardhan samadhi shifting to Mysore  was opposed by fans Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhan has decided to have the samadhi at Abhiman studio itself.

Speaking to Chitraloka producer K Manju said on Tuesday that, "Bhabi (Bharathi Vishnuvardhan) had called me and VSS president Prasanna and told let's have the samadhi and Dhyana Mandhira at Abhiman studio itself. We don't know how much time it will take to clear legal proceedings in the issue. It has been discussed to have to FTI (film training institute) at Mysore. Myself, Prasanna and KFCC ex-president B Vijayakumar will bear the cost for the construction of samadhi and Dhyanna Mandira at Abhiman Studio. We are calling the pressmeet at Abhiman Studio very soon to announce told K Manju"

Vishnu Sena Samithi has decided to celebrate the 07th death anniversary of the late actor at the Abhiman Studio he was cremated.

Earlier, the family and fans of Dr Vishnuvardhan used to celebrate the birthday and death anniversary of the actor at the Abhiman Studio itself. However, last time during the birth day of the actor, the family members decided to celebrate in the residence itself. This time the family will be going to Mysore, where the Government has allotted the land for Dr Vishnuvardhan's memorial.

With the absence of family members. the fans of the actor have decided to celebrate the death anniversary at the Abhiman Studio. Like previous years many social activities will be held there and thousands of fans of the actor are expected to visit Abhiman Studio.

During the audio release of Chiru's latest film 'Yuva Samrat' directed by Guru Deshpande, the title 'Yuva Samrat' was given to Chiru by Dr Vishnuvardhan's fans. The award was conferred in front of Dr Vishnuvardhan's potrait and Jnanapeeth Award Winner Dr Girish Karnad who introduced Dr Vishnuvardhan to Kannada cinema throug 'Vamshavriksha' was also present during the occasion.

Chiranjeevi Sarja who was overwhelmed by the title, thanked Dr Vishnuvardhan's fans for conferring him the title of 'Yuva Samrat'.

ಅನುಪ್ರಭಾಕರ್‍ಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದ ಕನಸಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಮತ್ತು ಅನುಪ್ರಭಾಕರ್ ನಟಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಆ ದೃಶ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಆ್ಯಕ್ಷನ್ ಕಟ್ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಕಿಚ್ಚ ಸುದೀಪ್. ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಂಥಾದ್ದೊಂದು ಅದ್ಭುತ ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶ ಕಂಡು ಥ್ರಿಲ್ ಆದ ಅನುಪ್ರಭಾಕರ್, ಆ ಕನಸನ್ನು ಸುದೀಪ್ ಜೊತೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಕಿಚ್ಚ ಸುದೀಪ್ ಕೂಡಾ ವಿಷ್ಣು ಅಭಿಮಾನಿ. ಮಾತಾಡ್ ಮಾತಾಡ್ ಮಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನ್ ಅವರ ಜೊತೆ ಪುಟ್ಟ ಪಾತ್ರವೊಂದರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವರು. ಅನುಪ್ರಭಾಕರ್ ಕಂಡ ಕನಸಿಗೆ ಅವರೊಂದು ಪ್ರತಿಕ್ರಿಯೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

ಅನುಪ್ರಭಾಕರ್, ವಿಷ್ಣುವರ್ಧನ್ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೇ ಇರುವ ದೃಶ್ಯವನ್ನು ಈಗಾಗಲೇ ಶೂಟ್ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ ಎಂದಿರುವ ಸುದೀಪ್, ಅಷ್ಟೇ ನವಿರಾಗಿ ಅದು ಗ್ರೀನ್‍ಮ್ಯಾಟ್ ಶೂಟ್ ಆಗಿತ್ತು ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಅದು ಆಗಿದ್ದುದು #73ಶಾಂತಿನಿವಾಸ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ. ಆ ಚಿತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಸ್ವತಃ ಸುದೀಪ್ ಅವರೇ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾಗಿದ್ದರು. ಅದು ಪುಟ್ಟ ದೃಶ್ಯವೇ ಇರಬಹುದು. ಎಲ್ಲೋ ಒಂದು ಕಡೆ ಅದು ನಿಜವಾಗಿದೆ ಎನ್ನುವುದೇ ನನಗೆ ಖುಷಿ. ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿರ್ದೇಶಿಸುವುದೂ ಕೂಡಾ ನನಗೆ ಸದಾ ಖುಷಿ ಕೊಡುವ ವಿಷಯ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಸುದೀಪ್.
