Director Gadda Vijay has turned actor with Ram Gopal Verma film Killing Veerappan. He has acted for one day recently and three more days of shooting is pending. He is also seen in the Telugu trailer of the film released last week but not shown in the Kannada version.

The director of Dyavre and '+' is the latest Kannada director to turn actor.

Controversial director Ram Gopal Verma has yet again made a controversial remarks in his twitter handle. RGV who seems to carry highly judgmental and patronizing aura around him has landed in trouble many a times before and this time his scrutinizing statements are towards Kannada films people of Karnataka. 

In one of his tweets RGV has remarked that Kannadigas has no pride because of the massive success of Baahubali 2 in Karnataka.

Senior actor-producer Jaggesh has backed K Manju and has urged the KFCC and KFPA to react on Vishnuvardhan's issue.

On Thursday morning senior producer K Manju had urged that director Ram Gopal Verma must apologise for his derogatory words about late actor Dr Vishnuvardhan immediately. Jaggesh has backed Manju saying that it is right and an action must be taken against RGV immediately.

Killing Veerappan is a perfect combination of the Ram Gopal Varma style and Shivanna's mass appeal. It is more than a film. It is a cinematic expression of the angst against Veerappan that a Kannada film could have shown. There have been many films about Veerappan including the last one that depicted how he was hunted down. But the combined anger against Veerappan and the thirst for revenge because he kidnapped Dr Rajkumar was never depicted like how Killing Veerappan movie does.

The first half of the film is a bit slow with the depiction of the cruelty of Veerappan. But these incidents are well known to Kannada people. The second half is where the real hunt for Veerappan begins. Some interesting attempts to capture Veerappan is shown. All these were failures. Finally the Shivanna character decides it is better to just kill him. But that has to be done by using the same tactics Veerappan used. How it was planned and executed is shown in a chilling manner.

RGV shows he is a master at holding audience captive. Without songs or comedy or such commercial elements he manages to hold the attention. Some of the scenes cannot even be described like the shootout before interval and the escape scene in ravines. He uses visual wizardry rather than dialogues to push the narrative. It has to be seen to be believed.

And of course it is Shivanna for whom Kannada audience will watch the film. His performance is superlative. He has performed and not acted. His involvement is mind blowing.

Senior producer K Manju has urged that director Ram Gopal Verma must apologise for his derogatory words about late actor Dr Vishnuvardhan immediately.

Speaking to Chitraloka.com, 'RGV might be a very big director. But what right does he have to speak cheaply about Vishnuvardhan and what does he know about Vishnuvardhan. He may praise Sudeep. But doesn't have to compare Sudeep with other actors, especially with Vishnuvardhan or Rajanikanth. Both actors are legendary in their own aspect and has done a lot to cinema. RGV must not talk cheaply about such actors and their contribution' opined K Manju.

K Manju also urged RGV to immediately apologise for his derogatory statement about Dr Vishnuvardhan.

Ace director Ramgopal Verma who is in Bangalore for the shooting of his latest film 'Killing Veerappan' starring Shivarajakumar in lead role released the audio of 'Bettanagere' being directed by Mohan Gowda. The film which is been in the making for the last one and a half years is inspired from the real life incidents of brothers Bettanagere Shankara and Seena.

The audio release of the film was held at the Chamundeshwari Studio in Bangalore and many guests including Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce secretary Ba Ma Harish, Jaijagadish, N M Suresh and others apart from the film team was present at the occasion.

Ramgopal Verma thanked the producers for calling him for the audio release. 'I believe in realistic characters and incidents and right from 'Shiva' to 'Killing Veerappan', I have made many realistic films. I am told this film is based on real life characters and incidents. I wish the team of the film a huge success' said Ramgopal Verma.

Heroes Sumanth and Akshay, music director Rajesh Ramanath, director Mohan Gowda, producer Swamy was present at the occasion.

The comments by Ram Gopal Verma comparing Sudeep to Vishnuvardhan and Rajinikanth but making the latter look bad has riled Sandalwood.

After producer K Manju, now actor Jaggesh and others have criticised RGV. RGV had in a series of tweets said that Sudeep is a better actor than Vishnuvardhan and Rajinikanth. But Sudeep had replied that though he comes nowhere near the two great personalities. RGV had said that Rajinikanth cannot act like Sudeep even in his dreams. About Vishnuvardhan he had said that he was amateur compared to Sudeep.

Jaggesh has said that though praising Sudeep was not wrong, the mindset of RGV is revealed when he decides Vishnuvardhan and Sudeep. Jaggesh has urged the producers association to react on the issue.

A few days back director Ramgopal Verma had announced that he will be directing a film called 'Appa' based on the life of don Muttappa Rai. But there were assumptions, whether the film would start or not?

Now producer M N Kumar and actor Sudeep has joined hands with Ramgopal Verma for the film and the film has been titled as 'Rai'. Though it has not been announced when the film would be launched, the film is expected to go on floors next year, after Sudeep finishes 'Kotigobba' and 'Hebbuli'.

ಇದರ ಹೊರತಾದ ವಿವಾದಗಳನ್ನೇ ವರ್ಮಾ ಕೆಣಕಿದರೆ ಅಚ್ಚರಿಯೇನಿಲ್ಲ. ಇಂಥಾ ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರು ಸೂಕ್ತ ಎಂಬ ಹುಡುಕಾಟದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ವರ್ಮಾಗೆ, ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ರೈ ಹೆಸರು ಹೊಳೆದಿದೆಯಂತೆ. ಪ್ರಕಾಶ್ ರೈಗೆ ತೆಲುಗಿನಲ್ಲೂ ಸಾಕಷ್ಟು ಅಭಿಮಾನಿಗಳಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಹೀಗಿರುವಾಗ ಎನ್‍ಟಿಆರ್ ಅವರ ವಿವಾದಾತ್ಮಕ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸುತ್ತಾರಾ..? ಸದ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಇದು ಪ್ರಶ್ನೆಯಷ್ಟೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ, ಇದ್ಯಾವುದೂ ಇನ್ನೂ ಅಧಿಕೃತವಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. 

ಭೈರವ ಗೀತ. ರಾಮ್ ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ವರ್ಮಾ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣದ, ವರ್ಮಾ ಶಿಷ್ಯ ಸಿದ್ದಾರ್ಥ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ಡಾಲಿ ಧನಂಜಯ್ ಅಭಿನಯದ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಟ್ರೇಲರ್ ಸೆಪ್ಟೆಂಬರ್ 1ಕ್ಕೆ ರಿಲೀಸ್ ಆಗುತ್ತಿದೆ. ಟ್ರೇಲರ್‍ಗೂ ಮುನ್ನವೇ ವರ್ಮಾ, ಚಿತ್ರದ ಕೆಲವೊಂದು ಪೋಸ್ಟರ್‍ಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡುಗಡೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಪೋಸ್ಟರ್‍ಗಳು ಸದ್ದು ಮಾಡೋಕೆ ಶುರುವಾಗಿವೆ.

ವರ್ಗ ವೈಷಮ್ಯ ಮತ್ತು ಲವ್ ಸ್ಟೋರಿ ಇರುವ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಇದು. ವರ್ಮಾ ಸ್ಟೈಲ್‍ನಲ್ಲೇ ಇರೋ ಪೋಸ್ಟರ್‍ಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಧನಂಜಯ ಮತ್ತು ಇರಾ ನಡುವಿನ ಲಿಪ್‍ಲಾಕ್ ಸೀನ್ ಹವಾ ಎಬ್ಬಿಸಿದೆ. ಇರಾಗೆ ಇದು ಮೊದಲ ಸಿನಿಮಾ. ಧನಂಜಯ್‍ಗೆ ಸ್ಕ್ರೀನ್ ಮೇಲೆ ಮೊದಲ ಚುಂಬನ. ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ್ಯಕ್ಷನ್, ರೊಮ್ಯಾನ್ಸ್‍ಗೆ ಬರವೇ ಇಲ್ಲ ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ವರ್ಮಾ. 

ಟಾಲಿವುಡ್ ಹಾಗೂ ಬಾಲಿವುಡ್‍ನ ಡೈರೆಕ್ಟರ್ ರಾಮ್ ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ವರ್ಮಾ, ಇತ್ತೀಚೆಗೆ ಸಿನಿಮಾಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ವಿವಾದಗಳಿಗೆ, ತಿಕ್ಕಲು ಹೇಳಿಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ, ವರ್ತನೆಗೆ ಫೇಮಸ್ಸು. ಈ ಬಾರಿಯೂ ಅಂತಹುದೇ ವಿವಾದದ ಮೂಲಕ ಸುದ್ದಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದಾರೆ ರಾಮ್‍ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ವರ್ಮಾ.

ಕನ್ನಡದ ಹುಡುಗಿ, ಅದೇ ವಜ್ರಕಾಯ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಪಟಾಕ ನಭಾ ನಟೇಶ್, ತೆಲುಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ಮಾರ್ಟ್ ಶಂಕರ್ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಚಿತ್ರದ ಇಬ್ಬರು ನಾಯಕಿರಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರೂ ಒಬ್ಬರು. ಪುರಿ ಜಗನ್ನಾಥ್ ನಿರ್ದೇಶನದ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಸಕ್ಸಸ್ ಆಗಿದೆ. ಆ ಚಿತ್ರದ ಸಕ್ಸಸ್ ಪಾರ್ಟಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವರ್ಮಾ ಕೂಡಾ ಇದ್ದರು.

ಖುಷಿಯ ನಷೆ ಮೀರಿದ ನಂತರ ವರ್ಮಾ, ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರಿಗೆ ಬಿಯರ್ ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ವರ್ಮಾ ಅವರಿಂದ ಬಿಯರ್ ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರಲ್ಲಿ ನಭಾ ನಟೇಶ್ ಕೂಡಾ ಒಬ್ಬರು.

ಅದನ್ನು ಹೆಮ್ಮೆಯೆಂಬಂತೆ ತಮ್ಮದೇ ಟ್ವಿಟರ್‍ನಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ವರ್ಮಾ. ಟೀಕೆಗಳಿಗೆ.. ಎಂದಿನಂತೆ ಡೋಂಟ್‍ಕೇರ್.

ವಿಭಿನ್ನ ಕಥೆ, ವಿಶೇಷ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳ ಮೂಲಕವೇ ಕನ್ನಡ ಚಿತ್ರರಂಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನೆಲೆಯೂರಿರುವ ಯಜ್ಞಾಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಈಗ ರಾಮ್ ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ವರ್ಮಾ ಕಣ್ಣಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಕಲಾವಿದರಾದವರು ಬಯಸೀ ಬಯಸೀ ನಟಿಸುವಂತಹ ಅದ್ಭುತ ಅವಕಾಶವೊಂದನ್ನು ವರ್ಮಾ, ಯಜ್ಞಾ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ. 

ವರ್ಮಾ, ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಎನ್‍ಟಿಆರ್ ಎಂಬ ಸಿನಿಮಾ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರುವುದು ಗೊತ್ತಿದೆಯಷ್ಟೆ. ಎನ್‍ಟಿಆರ್ ಜೀವನಚರಿತ್ರೆಯನ್ನು ಎನ್‍ಟಿಆರ್ ಅವರ ಕೊನೆಗಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಪತ್ನಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಕೋನದಲ್ಲಿ ಹೇಳುವ ಸವಾಲು ಅದು. ಅಂತಹ ಬಹುನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿತ ಸಿನಿಮಾದ ಪ್ರಧಾನ ಪಾತ್ರವೇ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಪಾರ್ವತಿ.

ಆ ಪಾತ್ರವನ್ನು ಯಜ್ಞಾ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ನೀಡಿದ್ದಾರೆ ರಾಮ್ ಗೋಪಾಲ್ ವರ್ಮಾ. ಇದೇ ವರ್ಮಾರ ಕಿಲ್ಲಿಂಗ್ ವೀರಪ್ಪನ್ ಚಿತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಮುತ್ತುಲಕ್ಷ್ಮಿ (ವೀರಪ್ಪನ್ ಪತ್ನಿ)ಯಾಗಿ ನಟಿಸಿದ್ದ ಯಜ್ಞಾ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ, ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಎನ್‍ಟಿಆರ್ ಪತ್ನಿಯಾಗಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ. `ನನಗೆ ಇದೊಂದು ಸವಾಲು. ನಿಜ ಜೀವನದ ಪಾತ್ರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಟಿಸುವುದು ಸುಲಭವಲ್ಲ. ಲಕ್ಷ್ಮೀ ಪಾರ್ವತಿ ಪಾತ್ರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ತೆಲುಗು ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದು ಕಲಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ' ಎಂದಿದ್ದಾರೆ ಯಜ್ಞಾ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ..
