Actor Prakash Rai who had not signed any films as he was busy contesting for the Lok Sabha elections, is back to acting and the actor has signed Puneeth Rajakumar starrer 'Yuvaratna'.

'Yuvaratna' is Prakash Raj's first film after the elections and the actor is playing the role of the principal in this film. Earlier, Boman Iran was said to play the role and now Prakash is said to have replaced the actor. Prakash Raj had earlier acted with Puneeth in 'Rajkumara' also.

'Yuvaratna' is scripted and directed by Santhosh Anandaram and produced by Vijay Kiragandoor under Hombale Films. Sayesh Sehgal is the heroine. Dhananjay, John Kokken  and Dhananjay are playing negative roles in the film. V Harikrishna is the music composer of the film, while Venkatesh Anguraj is behind the camera.

The second schedule for Puneeth Rajakumar starrer 'James' has started in Hospet recently and the team is busy shooting a fight and few prominent scenes for the film.

Meanwhile, actress Priya Anand has been roped in as the heroine for the film. This is the second time that Priya Anand is playing Puneeth's heroine after the successful 'Rajkumara' which was released a few years back.

'James' is being directed by Chethan of 'Bahaddur' and 'Bharjari' fame. Chethan has also written the story, screenplay and dialogues for the film apart from directing it. Kishore Pathikonda is the producer. Anu Prabhkar, Srikanth, Sadhu Kokila and others play prominent roles in the film.

Actress Priya Anand of 'English Vinglish' and 'Eder Neechal' fame has been selected to play the female lead opposite Puneeth Rajakumar in his forthcoming film 'Rajakumara'. 'Rajakumara' is being produced b Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films and being directed by Santhosh Anandram who had earlier directed 'Mr and Mrs Ramachari'. Santhosh himself has written the story and the screenplay of the film. V Harikrishna is the music director, while Venkatesh Anguraj is the cameraman.

The film is being launched on the 11th of March and the regular shooting of the film will commence from the 20th of March. The major part of the film will be shot in Australia.

After the success of Kavaludaari and Mayabazaar, Power Star Puneet Rajkumar is back with his fifth production, which is titled - Family Pack. 

The star actor turned producer through his home banner - PRK Productions, has become a force to reckon in the industry for its quality content and performance oriented projects so far.

After the first two successes, PRK Productions, has already produced 'French Biryani' and another which is titled 'Law', both of which are due for release on OTT platforms in the coming weeks.

The latest, titled 'Family Pack' is co-produced by actor turned producer Likith Shetty of the fame of Sakastha Kara Ganapati.  Mrs. Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar and Dheshraj Rai are the other two producers while Arjun Kumar S is directing the film, starring Likith Shetty himself in the lead alongside Rangyana Raghu and Amrutha Iyengar.

Guru Kiran has composed the music for this venture family entertainer.

Actors Puneeth Rajakumar and Yash are all set to release the trailer of 'Kataka' jointly tonight in Bangalore.

'Kataka' is being directed by music director Ravi Basrur and this is his third film as a director after 'Gargar Mandla' and 'Bilinder' in Kundapur Kannada. This is Ravi's first film in Kannada and he himself has scripted the film apart from directing it. He has also composed the music for the film.

The film is being produced by Puneeth's manager N S Rajakumar and Sachin Basrur is the cameraman for this film.

Puneeth on Thursday met Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa and donated Rupees Five Lakh towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund.

Karnataka witnessed a worst flood in the recent times and many celebrities have done their bit to help the people in the flood hit areas. Puneeth on his part met CM B S Yediyurappa personally and handed over a cheque of rupess five lakh towards the Chief Minister Relief Fund.

Earlier, actor Upendra had also donated Five lakh towards the fund. He had also urged his party members to help the flood victims.

Following widespread request from fans Puneeth Rajkumar has finally joined Twitter. He has opened the account in July itself but has not made a single tweet till now. He is also not following anyone on Twitter.

However his Twitter account has been verified by Twitter with a blue star tick. More than a thousand people have started following him as the news spread on the micro blogging site. Fans and film celebrities by Tharun Sudhir and others are wishing Puneeth for making his Twitter debut.

Last year fans of Puneeth had made an online agitation requesting him to join Twitter. A fake account was widely reported last month.

Rangitaranga director Anup Bhandari will direct Power Star Puneeth Rajkumar in a new film, he has revealed. The film will also star Nirup Bhandari. Anup is currently directing Rajaratha starring his brother Nirup. Except that it is an action adventure film, no other details has been revealed.

Strong rumours are floating around in Sandalwood that producer Soorappa Babu has bagged the dates of Puneeth Rajkumar for a new film. Babu had earlier produced Puneeth's film Prithvi which was directed by Jacob Verghese.

No details of the new film is available now and sources say it could only be in the stages of discussion now. Puneeth's film with Suri, Dodmane Hudga is scheduled for release on September 23. He is currently working in Santhosh Ananddram's Raajkumara. After that there were announcements about two more films called James and Aahwaana. But things could change

Actor Puneeth who was busy with the shooting of 'Yuvaratna' a few days back is enjoying the vacation in South America with his family.

Puneeth often goes to vacation during this time of the year and this time, Puneeth is busy holidaying in various parts of South America including Brazil, Chile, Peru, Mexico and other places.The actor is in adventurous mood and is seen paragliding in Mexico.

Puneeth Rajkumar and Bollywood star Akshay Kumar met today and sources said it was just a courtesy call as the latter was visiting Bengaluru. Sandalwood director Nanda Kishore of Victory and Ranna fame has also met Akshay Kumar, in Bengaluru today. Also spotted were top designer Ramesh Dembla.

Nanda Kishore met Akshay Kumar on a professional basis it is learnt. Nanda is said to be planning a film to be made in Kannada and Hindi. Puneeth Rajkumar's new film starts today with the script Pooja in a temple in Bengaluru. The film is directed by Pawan Wadeyar. Puneeth and Pawan get together for a film after Ranavikrama.

Sources say that the shooting of the film will start after the completion of Raajkumara directed by Santhosh Anandram. Sources also say that the film is produced by Lagadapati Sridhar. Meanwhile Wadeyar has completed his film Nataraja Service with Sharan which is releasing this month. Puneeth's Dodmane Hudga released two weeks ago and is turning out to be a huge hit. Only a small portion of shooting is left for Raajkumara and the film is likely to be released in December.

Actor Puneeth Rajakumar, Ravishankar, Aniruddh, Bharathi Vishnuvardhan and others paid their last respects Uday who died on Monday. After that Uday was cremated at the Banashankari burial grounds.

The climax shooting for 'Mastigudi' was held at Thippagondanahalli lake on Monday and actors Uday and Anil died after jumping to the lake from the helicopter. The bodies were missing and finally Uday's body was found on Wednesday. The body was brought to Uday's house in Yediyur after the post-mortem was done.

On Thursday morning, many artistes and technicians including Puneeth Rajakumar paid their last respects to the actor, after which the body was taken in a procession and buried at the burial grounds in Banashankari.

From morning itself, fans of Puneeth Rajakumar thronged his Sadashivanagar residence and wished the 'Power Star' a huge success and a happy birthday. Fans had brought many cakes and gifts for Puneeth Rajakumar and Puneeth celebrated his birthday with the fans.

Apart from fans and family, the team of 'Natasarvabhowma' also celebrated the actor's birthday.

Actor Puneeth Rajakumar is all set to donate 50 thousand rupees each to riot victims and will be donating the amount soon.

Riots started in Bangalore on Monday after the news about attacks on Kannadigas in Tamil Nadu broke out. In this riots, a youth named Umesh died and Chandramohan got injured.

Puneeth Rajakumar on Monday met Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and talked about his latest film 'Rajakumara'.

On Sunday, the Chief Minister watched 'Rajakumara' in Mysore and congratulated Puneeth Rajakumar about his performance and for the film over the phone. Puneeth who was overwhelmed by the Chief Minister's gesture, met him today morning at his residence in Bangalore.

Actor Puneeth Rajakumar released the songs of 'Sa' composed by Veer Samarth on Saturday evening at the Town Hall in Bangalore. The team members including JK, Vijay Surya, Hemanth Hegade, Samyuktha Belavadi and others were present during the occasion.

It was a colourful event at the Town Hall and amidst a huge audience, Puneeth Rajakumar released the songs of the film. The trailer of the film was also released at the same occasion.

'Sa' is ready for censor and Hemanth Hegade plans to announce the date of the film, once the film is censored.

Actor Puneeth Rajakumar on Monday evening released the songs of Vijaya Raghavendra starrer 'Eradu Kanasu' at the Chowdaiah Memorial Hall. The songs of the film are composed by Steve Kaushik.

The audio release of 'Eradu Kanasu' was attended by Puneeth Rajakumar, S A Chinnegowda, Bhagavan, K S Sridhar and many others. The songs of the film has been released by Sai Audio.

'Eradu Kanasu' is being directed by Madan, a student of Adarsha Film Institute. His father Ashok Kumar is the producer of the film. Steve-Kaushik are the music directors. Karunya Ram and Krishi Tapanda play female leads to Vijay Raghavendra.
