Telugu actress Anjali who stars opposite Puneeth in the film Ranavikrama is dubbing for the role. The dubbing is currently underway in Bengaluru. This is Anjali's second Kannada film after  Honganasu seven years ago.

Dubbing for the first time in Kannada, Anjali is excited though she does not know a word of the language say film sources. Helping her overcome the early jitters is director PavanWadeyar. The shooting for the film is complete and the post production is underway in full swing. The film could hit the screens in April itself.

Darshan starrer 'Jaggu Dada' is in the completion stage and after the completion of the film, Darshan is all set to join the team of 'Chakravarthy' which is going on floors in the first week of May. Actress Anjali who had earlier acted in films like 'Honganasu' and 'Ranavikrama' has been roped into play the heroine for the film.

'Chakravarthy' is being directed by Chintan who had earlier written dialogues to Darshan's film.

Producer Jayanna has paid Rs 20 lakhs as penalty to Lahari Audio and has officially acquired the rights of the two songs which are used in Puneeth Rajkumar starrer 'Dheera Ranavikram'. Earlier, Lahari Velu had accused the team of 'Ranavikram' including producers Jayanna and Bhogendra, director Pavan Wodeyar and music director V Harikrishna for not taking official permission for using two songs which have been used in the film. The rights of both the songs were with Lahari Audio and T-Series had not only sent a notice to the makers of the film regarding this, but also had blocked the songs in Youtube.

To solve this issue in an easier way, Jayanna had gone to Lahari office in Yeshwanthpur recently. After much talks, it seems Jayanna has agreed to give Rs 20 lakhs for officially using two songs in the film.

Speaking to chitraloka Lahari Velu said `we wanted to move the case to the court because of producer Jayanna we settled amicably. We have not given the rights but we have given permission to use the song lines.

With this, the problems revolving 'Ranavikrama' has come to an end.

With many big films lining up for release in the next few weeks, there is a dearth of good theaters for many of the anticipated films in Majestic area in Bangalore. Now two of the films have finally managed to get theaters.

Shashank's 'Krishna Leela' which is being produced by Ajay Rao will be releasing in Kapali next week. The film will be replacing Vinay Rajkumar starrer 'Siddartha'. 'Siddartha' has managed to complete 50 days and will be making way for 'Krishna Leela' next week.

Puneeth Rajkumar's 'Ranavikrama' will be releasing in the second week of April and the film will be replacing 'Mr and Mrs Ramachari' in Santhosh. 'Mr and Mrs Ramachari' has completed 80 successful days in Santhosh and will be completing a century in the second week of April. Just after the film finishes the 100 day mark, 'Ranavikrama' will be replacing 'Mr and Mrs Ramachari'.

Meanwhile, many anticipate films are yet to get theaters. Dhananjay-Shruthi Hariharan starrer 'Raate' has been announced to release next week. But, the film has not managed to get a theater in K G Road. Likewise, Yogaraj Bhatt's 'Vaasthu Prakaara', Sudeep starrer 'Ranna' will also be releasing in April and the makers of the films are busy trying to find a suitable theaters for their films.

Pavan Wadeyar is starting to work on a new script. Even as he is giving finishing touches to Puneeth Rajkumar's Ranavikrama, a single line idea for a new script has emerged in the young writer-director's mind. The idea came to him from his mother. Pavan says his mother was reading an old Kannada novel which did not even have a cover. Her comments after reading the book has inspired Pavan to write a new script. 

The one line that will be the base for the new story is, "If a boy is not worth for girl's trust, then that girl is not worth for boy's pure love. this is my next story line," he says. Meanwhile Pavan treated his mother to a trip on the Namma Metro in Bengaluru. Ranavikrama is the first Kannada film to be officially shot in the Metro train and station. Having told her about the Metro the mother-son duo had a jolly ride.

Ranavikrama's climax shoot was completed in Jindal factory in Ballary recently and the film team is gearing up for a foreign trip to shoot two songs. Pavan was in Mumbai earlier this week to get a visa for the same. 

On Tuesday, Puneeth Rajkumar celebrated his 40th birthday with his fans and family at his residence in Sadashivanagar in Bangalore. This time, fans of Puneeth thronged his residence from morning and had bought huge cakes and garlands for their favourite actor. Puneeth was as usual very calm and opted to spend time with his fans and celebrated his birthday with them.

Last year, 'Ranavikrama' was launched on Puneeth's birthday and this time though none of Puneeth's films were launched, many films were announced on the same day. Puneeth who is busy with 'Dodmane Huduga' and the release of 'Ranavikrama' will be acting in all those films one at a time.

The search for newer and exotic locations for Kannada films continue. From Iceland to Cambodia, there are new locations seen in many new films. Now Puneeth's Ranavikrama is off to Italy.

Director Pavan Wadeyar after getting a visa last week boarded the flight to Italy on Saturday. He will finalise locations by the time the rest of the team arrives. This will be the last schedule for Ranavikrama produced by Jayanna and Bhogendra. The climax for the film was shot in Jindal factory in Ballary earlier this month.

Puneeth's Ranavikrama, which is setting a new trend for Kannada movies by releasing in around 40 theatres outside Karnataka has notched up another success already. Producer Jayanna gave details that tickets for many of the first day shows in other states including in cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad and Chennai have been sold out.

This is the first time that a Kannada film is being released outside Karnataka on such a large scale and gaining so much positive response before release. In Karnataka the film will be released in over 200 theatres.

Pre-bookings were opened a few day ago and many centres are already sporting houseful signs. Ranavikrama is the biggest release in Kannada so far this year. 

T-Series which is looking after the online platform of Lahari Audio has sent a legal notice to the makers of Puneeth Rajkumar starrer 'Ranavikrama' for allegedly using two well known old songs without taking permission from the Lahari Audio. T-Series has also blocked the songs of 'Ranavikrama' in Youtube.

The songs of 'Ranavikrama' was released last week and Lahari Velu has accused music director V Harikrishna of using two old songs without taking the permission. While one song is 'Jagave Ondu Ranaranga' from 'Ranaranga', the other being a song from Telugu film 'Seetharamayyagaari Manavuralu'. Lahari Audio holds the rights of both the songs and has sent a notice to music director V Harikrishna as well as the producers and director of the film for not taking official permission to use the songs in 'Ranavikrama'.

The shooting for Ranavikrama in Italy is complete. The team of 16 members including Puneeth, director Pavan Wadeyar and producer Jayanna are currently in the airport waiting for a flight to Muscat. They will reach Muscat at 7.30 am and catch a connecting flight to Bengaluru. They are expected to reach Bengaluru at 12.30 pm on Friday.

The shooting in Italy was scheduled for five days but thanks to good weather, it was completed in just three days, Pavan said from Italy. The temperature was sub zero hovering at  two degree celscius. It was very tough for the team from Bengaluru at such temperatures. But they managed to speed up the shooting despite all the odds. Puneeth Rajkumar's Ranavikrama will have a shooting schedule in the scenic locations of Italy shortly. Before that, the schedule in Bellary including in Sandur and the Jindal factory has to be completed. This schedule is progressing now.

In the meantime Puneeth's other film that also stars Malayalam star Mohanlal, is releasing in the first week of February. The shooting schedule in Italy will be scheduled around it so that Puneeth can participate in the promotion of Maitri.

Ranavikrama has had a long shooting schedule starting in Hampi and then moving to other locations in Karnataka. Italy would be the only foreign location for the film and only songs will be shot there, film sources say.

Ace action director Ravi Verma who has composed action sequences for many films in Kannada and Hindi has been conferred the title of ‘Sahasa Sarvabhowma’. The title has been conferred by Basavanagudi Eternal Socio - Welfare Trust

Ravi Verma is one of the major highlights of the Ranavikrama film and has composed some wonderful action sequences which were not seen in Kannada earlier. There are 4-5 fights in the film and Ravi Verma has composed all the fights and has composed each fight different from the other.

Strange but true. But this is what is happening not just in Bengaluru and Karnataka but also several centres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana! The Telugu film S/o Satyamurthy that released on Thursday, apart from Allu Arjun, stars Kannada star Upendra. The film has also released across Karnataka.

On Friday, Puneeth's Ranavikrama is releasing not only in Karnataka but also centres in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh including Hyderabad, Anantpur and Chittoor. So it is virtually the fight between two Kannada actors across several states.
