The Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy has organised An Interaction of Impact of GST and Demonitization on Kannada film industry on 05th December at 10.30 AM. The seminar will be held in Gandhi Bhavan at the Kumara Krupa Road, Bangalore.

The seminar will be presided by KCA chairman S V Rajendra Singh Babu and well known advocate K Vytheeshwaran, KFCC president Sa Ra Govindu, ex-president K V Chandrashekhar, producer and distributor Rockline Venkatesh, M N Kumar, Jayanna, chartered accountant Vivek Mallya and others will be present at the occasion and will be talking about the impact of GST and Demonitization on Kannada film industry.

Acclaimed director Girish Kasaravalli on Saturday afternoon released the history book of the last decade called 'Chandanavana' at the Karnataka State Cricket Association in Bangalore.

The work for 'Chandanavana' was started during the tenure of T S Nagabharana and was printed during the tenure of Tara Anuradha. However, due to various reasons the film got delayed and is releasing during the tenure of S V Rajendra Singh Babu.

Meanwhile, the website of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy was inaugurated by actress and Member of Legislative Council Tara. T S Nagabharana, P Sheshadri, KFCC President Sa Ra Govindu and others were present at the occasion.

Just a month after the revised edition of the Kannada Chalanachitra Itihasa was released, one more history book called 'Chandanavana' regarding Kannada films is all set to be released on the 28th of November.

'Chandanavana' is a book being written by a panel of journalists headed by senior journalist Shyamasundara Kulkari. The book is the brainchild of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy and the book contains the 10 years history of Kannada cinema.

The work for the book started during the tenure of T S Nagabharana.

Well known actor H G Dattatreya who is fondly known as Dattanna amongst shared his experiences at the 'Belli Hejje' organised by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy on Friday (July 27th) evening.

Dattanna who has acted in more than 200 films spanning three decades talked about his journey and shared his experiences of 30 years in film industry.  

Well known directors T S Nagabharana, P Sheshadri, T N Seetharam, KCA president Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar and others were present. The actor was felicitated by the office bearers of Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce on this occasion.

The 'Belli Hejje' programme is organised at the Mahadeva Desai Auditorium in Gandhi Bhavan on 27th of July at evening 5 PM.

The recommendations by the state government appointed committee through Chalanachatra Academy to fix a ceiling on ticket price in multiplexes at Rs 120 has reached the government. The committee consisted of Rajendra Singh Babu, Girish Kasaravalli, Jayamala, Thomas Dsouza, KY Narayana Swamy, KV Chandrashekar, Bharati Vishnuvardhan, Raghavendra Rajkumar, Rockline Venkatesh, Basha and Gangadhar Mudaliyar. 

The committee also recommended permission for 100 more Janatha Theatres, surcharge of Rs 5 per ticket for building the film city in Mysuru and subsidy for those building new theatres.

The most important recommendation that will help all audience is capping the ticket prices. Multiplexes in Bengaluru charge the maximum ticket price. In Chennai two rows of tickets are priced at Rs 10 and the others at Rs 120. Thus multiplexes in Bengaluru fill up only on weekends but in Chennai and Hyderabad the multiplexes have good collection throughout the week.

Another recommendation by the committee is to have at least 2 shows for Kannada films at prime time in each multiplex screen. The committee was formed by the government and KCA a government body has made the recommendations. Is there any reason that the government should not accept this proposal. It is time audience are given their due.

Did the appointment of Nagathihalli Chandrashekar as the president of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy got anything to do with his closeness with HD Deve Gowda? Soon after the government's announcement of appointing Chandrashekar as the president of KCA messages and talk in Sandalwood is about how the director is close to the Deve Gowda family.

There is no doubt that Nagathihalli is one of the most capable persons to run KCA. He has the ability and is widely accepted and respected in the film industry. But it is also true that he is very close to Deve Gowda. He was instrumental in giving suggestions when the former prime minister was writing a book. His appointment now is being seen as a payback by the Deve Gowda family for helping Deve Gowda earlier.

Well known director Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar has taken over the new president of the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy on Thursday evening in Bangalore.

Nagatihalli Chandrashekhar took over the charge from ex-president S V Rajendra Singh Babu at the Academy office in Nandini Layout in Bangalore.

Directors T S Nagabharana, N R Nanjundegowda, actor Dattana and others were present at the occasion.

Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy along with Information Department has organised a programme remembering late director Puttanna Kanagal on the 05th of June at the Sulochana Auditorium at the Vartha Bhavana in Bangalore.

Many dignitaries including Information Minister R Roshan Baig, Dr B Sarojadevi, KFCC chief Thomas D'Souza, Ambarish has been invited for this programme. But the Information Department has made a major blunder in the invitation of this programme. In the invitation, it has been written that Padmavibhushana Dr B Sarojadevi is attending the event. One question that comes to everybody's mind is, when did Dr B Sarojadevi get Padmavibhushana award?

B Sarojadevi has received the Padmasri, the fourth highesh civilian honour in 1969 and after that she has been conferred the Padmabhushan in 1992 from the Government of India. But the Information Department has wrongly printed that B Sarojadevi is the recipitent of the Padmavibhushan award. If it had been done by any other private ogranisation, it would have been not a big issue. But the Government of Karnataka's Information Department itself has done a major blunder by printing wrongly.

How will the Information Department rectify its mistake is yet to be seen?
