Acclaimed actor and dancer Sridhar has been awarded D.Litt (Doctor of Letters) from the Hampi Kannada University for his thesis titled 'Narthaka in Indian Dance: With special reference to Bharatanatyam'.
Sridhar who had been a Bharatanatyam dancer for the past 30 years had registered for D.Litt course in the year 2011 April and had submitted his thesis in October 2013.
Sridhar came to Kannad film industry through Puttanna Kanagal's 'Amrutha Galige' and there was no turning back for the actor. After that Sridhar had acted in Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films and has won many awards including the best actor award from the Government of Karnataka for his role in 'Santa Shishunala Sharife' being directed by T S Nagabharana.
