The Government of Karnataka has put a condition to the newly appointed Karnataka State Award Committee headed by veteran director S K Bhagawan to finish watching the films and submit the report to the Government by October 16.
With the High Court of Karnataka cancelling the awards given by Bharathi Vishnuvardhan committee due to various reasons, the Government had no other go than by appointing a new committee to select the awards for the year 2010-11. So, the Government appointed a committee headed by veteran director S K Bhagawan to select the awards and submit the report.
The Committee started watching films from Thursday and the Government has asked the committee to finish the selection process and submit the report by October 16. There are a total of 53 films and the committee has to watch four to five films daily.
