Actor Sanchari Vijay has won the best actor award at the 62nd National film awards for his performance in 'Nan Avanalla Avalu'. Vijay is the third actor from Kannada who has bagged the best actor award at the national level the other two being Vasudeva Rao (Chomana Dudi) and Charu Hassan (Thabarana Kathe).

'Nan Avanalla Avalu' is a film being based on a true life of a transgender called Vidya. The film has been directed by Lingadevaru. Earlier, Vijay had acted in films like 'Dasvala', 'Oggarane' and others. He was lauded by critics for his performance in 'Dasvala'. Now Vijay has bagged the best actor award at the National level.
