Eight
prominent personalities connected to Kannada cinema have
won the 2003 Kannada Rajyotsava award. This was announced
on Thursday evening by Smt. Usha Ganesh Chief Secretary,
Kannada and Culture department of Karnataka Government.
While
Prof.Baraguru Ramachandrappa a film director too gets
the honor under literature category, Prema Karanth and
T.S.Nagabharana who are also in films gets the coveted
award under theatre category. Actress Thara, noted director
Siddalingaiah, veteran actor Gangadhar, Srinath actress
B.V.Radha gets the prestigious honors under cinema category.

for Science from America, Kumar Malavalli of America as
outside Kannadiga., Sydney Kannada Koota, Vasundhara Kavali
Philliose of Switzerland for sculpture have been picked
for Kannada Rajyotsava award.
The
award winners list has touched 60 plus persons who have
contributed in 20 various field this year. The awards
ceremony takes place on Kannada Rajyotsava day – November
1 in Bangalore. The award includes 20 grams of gold plaque,
shawl and a fruit basket.
